I just saw this in the mousesaver newsletter. It says it's a Disney hotel at the Disney World Resort.

Is it really ? Has anyone stayed there ? What is the transportation like to the parks ? Anything else you can tell me ?

Catrina, we stayed there on our first trip and it was lovely. :goodvibes All the rooms are suites, so that gives you a lot more room.

The bedroom has two beds, while the living room has a pull-out couch. There is also a table area with a small wet-bar area (microwave, fridge, sink).

We didn't use the bus transportation to the parks because we had rented a car, so I can't comment on that.

I also saw the link through mousesavers and I think you should go for it!! :thumbsup2 It's a great deal!

DH and I stayed there last November, just for one night, to go the F&W Festival and we loved it! We got it through Priceline so we didn't know what we'd get but it was probably the best Disney stay we've had (and I am an on-property snob!). The rooms are all suites and they are huge. We got a King Bed suite. Here are a few pictures:

The living room is HUGE! There's a big screen TV, a chair, and the sofa

The bedroom is separated from the living room by louver doors and the bathroom (very large) is in the bedroom area

There's a mini fridge and microwave, a one-cup coffee maker (they give you coffee, tea, and creamer, and paper cups). A table and I think 4 chairs. It's very roomy.

The staff was so nice. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were eager to help. The bus service was not as direct as a Disney Resort because every time we rode the bus it made 3 or 4 additional stops, but it wasn't bad. And actually the bus was more comfy than a regular Disney bus (upholstered seats). It is a bit of a farther walk to the park entrance and for MK the bus drops at TTC not outside the gates. But, it was a lovely hotel, nice people, clean, quiet, and very comfortable. I'd love to stay there again!

No Mousesavers calls it a "PREFERRED HOTEL in the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort" meaning she considers it a non-Disney hotel that she recommends to her readers, and this one is actually on Disney owned property.

I have stayed there, we liked it, the rooms were great, staff great, the beds were great, we got the mousesavers free cold buffet breakfast - best we ever had somewhere and we would stay again for the right price. We drove so we did not use transportation. It is the farthest away on Hotel Blvd from DTD, so a jaunt but not unreasonable. I would ask for a DTD view room. The pool view rooms also look at I-4 highway.

I posted photos on this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1680396

Stayed there for my last trip and it was great. The transportation was just ok, we had to make 2 additional stops on our way back from the parks at night (we were the last of the 3 to be picked up on the way to the parks) and I didn have to wait through one full bus there. For kids, the buses had a video playing (The Lion King) so they would be occupied.
The room was huge - could sleep 6 adults comfortably (more if you have little kids)
The staff were great! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. At the mousesavers prices, it can't be beat! I payed $99 a night in early August (still "summer season")

Can anyone tell me if there are 2 TV's in the rooms, one in the bedroom and one in the living room?

As I recall, yes, there is a TV in the bedroom too. Sorry I can't be 100% positive as we didn't watch any TV during our stay. If you call them directly the front desk can tell you. The staff is very nice!

I love this hotel - we always stay here. I can't remember if there is a tv in the bedroom though. The rooms are huge. For families with kids, it's great. The mini kitchen is also wonderful if you need to keep milk/formula/snacks for little ones.

We do use the provided Hilton transportation. The seats are comfy and they have a movie playing. you don't have to fold up the strollers to put them on the bus. I have also been there at the end of June when there's standing room only on the Disney buses, but have always had a seat on the Hilton buses.

The staff was great and very accomodating. We had requested adjoining rooms and had showed up early for check in. Our rooms weren't ready, but they took our cell and said they would clean them right away and contact us when they were ready - they called within an hour!

I am always considering this hotel (for the roomy suites) if we stay off-site. It seems to always have nice solid reviews. I read that the lobby and restaurant have been recently been updated in Dec 2007. Does anyone know what the areas look like now?

I just booked this hotel for 79.00 (88.XX after tax) through the Mousesavers link. We just need a place to stay for one night before we check into Old Key West. THe location and the price can't be beat. We were going to stay at one of the Fort Wilderness Cabins for 255.00.

So now I have to figure out what to do with the $$ I am saving:lmao: .

I just went to the site to get a quote. The quote for 2 adults and 4 children was $143.97 CAN. I don't think it's unreasonable but am planning to go end of April, beginning of May. Should I wait a while longer to see if I can get a better deal. I'm liking the location so I think this will be my choice of hotel. We stayed at the ASMu last April and I want to try one off site trip. I've been reading mixed reviews but am leaning towards giving it a try anyways.

I wouldn't stay there for that price. It sounds like this has one bedroom with 2beds, and then the living room area with a pullout couch. You can get a 2bdrm condo in the Lake Buena Vista area for about $50. per night less.(Hotelkingdom has Cypress Pointe Grand Villas for your dates for $108.52 per night). You would have a full kitchen and a washer/dryer. Both of which would come in very handy with 4 kids, I am guessing. They don't have shuttle service but you are saving $35. per night which would more than pay for a rental.

You can save even more by renting a condo through an owner at Windsor Hills. There is a fellow who gets great reviews on this board who has 3 bdrm condos for $399 per week (Sat -Sat stay only). Windsor Hills is very close to AK, like, less than 5 mins drive.

I am sure that Doubletree is a fabulous hotel, or Mary wouldn't recommend it. It is certainly better value than the Disney resorts, but not good value for what you are spending compared to other offsite resorts.

Thanks Faye! I was wondering if it was a good price or not. We stayed in the ASMu suites our first trip and it cost us over $2,000.00 for the week so this seemed reasonable. I'll check out your recommendations. :) I was trying to weigh having to rent a car vs. having a shuttle.

I've heard nothing but good things about WH also. Any idea who that fellow is? I'd also have to compare what the difference would be for our flights. Right now I'm getting a great deal of $104.00 US if we fly out of Syracuse on the Wednesday.

What's great about this trip is I am going with a friend of mine and her 2 children so we'll be splitting this half and half.

It looks like this trip will be much more affordable than the last one if I can book everything properly.

Thanks for all the advice. :)
