Does anyone have any feedback about this hotel, it is the one on Vineland OUTSIDE of the Disney village NOT the hotel in the Disney village. We are looking at one night before we go to our DVC timeshare @ OKW.
Thanks

I haven't been inside, but I drive past it all the time. It looks nice enough from the outside. Not what you'd normally expect from a Double Tree, though. It's goofy, and tropical, and brightly painted.

My biggest hesitation would be its location. It's nice and close to food, etc. (It's right across from a 24-hour Steak 'n' Shake, and walking distance to a Dunkin Donuts.) It's just IMPOSSIBLE to make a left turn out of or into. It's just past a difficult intersection, on the right side of the divided street. (The "Disney" side, lol.) For one night, it shouldn't be an issue, but to save yourself some frustration, plan right now on having to make a lot of u-turns. (Not actually that hard in that area, but it will add a good 5 minutes to every trip -- except for Disney, which you'll be perfectly positioned for.)

15MIN Thanks for the feedback, driving is not an issue for me, I am good at making U turns and if you can drive in NYC, Orlando seems easy. One more question, you say it is across from a 24 hour Stake & Shake, across the street or a parking lot? I am a light sleeper and would not want to have a room overlooking a parking lot that was active 24/7.
Thanks

I've stayed there many times. It's really quite nice. Room are bright & clean. I'm a light sleeper and noise has never been an issue. The rooms are either parking lot side or pool side. There aren't rooms facing the street that I can remember, the hotel goes long ways. People have been pretty good about letting you go left, just try to avoid high traffic hours. If you are going to WDW, you don't need to go left anyway. There is an Au Bon Pan in the lobby, which is great for breakfast.

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Super Thanks for the info. That is why I love these boards, I knew someone would have the info. I got a rate of 64 per night and 10 back on a rewards network card, I am happy and ready to go, now I have to wait till Dec 23rd

We got a good package through Hotwire staying at this hotel a couple of year ago. It was nice enough! Beds were pretty soft and the room was very bright and clean. We ate at the McDonald's right across the street every morning before heading to the parks...that McD's is at least $1 or $2 cheaper than the DTD one!! We were shocked.

And the PP who said turning left is difficult is right... (no pun intended!!)

That's a great rate. Have fun!!

Quick word of warning about the Crossroads McDonald's. They've turned into big meanies!! If you get anything but coffee with a breakfast value meal (including orange juice or milk for kids!), they will only substitue LARGE sizes, and charge odd mark-ups for it. A regular old breakfast sandwich meal is suddenly $6 or $7!! (And no matter how much you complain, they won't switch out to a small, or reduce the charges.)

Very not nice of them!!

We stayed at the Doubletree Club for a week in Feb 2004 and it was wonderful!!! We were located on the 7th floor (top) in the middle of the hotel facing Downtown Disney where we could see Pleasure Island’s midnight fireworks from bed! :) PERFECT room! Our kiddos were in a connecting room next door. There is an excellent restaurant in the lobby (Au Bon Pain) serving breakfast items, soups, made-to-order sandwiches, etc... LOW prices too!!! The decor is nice - bright and cheery! Everything was very clean and looked nearly new. We loved the Neutrogena products - shampoo, conditioner, body and facial soaps, lotion, and Rainbath! They also provide mouthwash and a shower cap! ;) 2 free newspapers are delivered to your door daily - Orlando Sentinel and USA Today. Coffee maker & coffee provided daily as well! High-speed Internet at no charge. No resort fee and no parking charges. Staff is very friendly! Would definitely stay here again!
