So far I have only stayed on property at WDW as I always travel alone with my two dd's, ages 6 and 8 this trip. I have a room at CSR but am seriously considering a suite at DTS for less $$ as it has two rooms, microwave, fridge and a few other good perks.

Has anyone experienced their "continuous bus service"? Can you tell me how it compares to WDW bus service? I guess I am thinking if I can't get a resort on the monorail and have to deal with a bus anyway - how much more inconvenient can this resort be?

Our trip will be a short one in Nov and we will probably be spending all our time in the WDW parks. No Universal this trip and probably not more than one day at the resort pool. Too short a trip and have a beach trip planned so just WDW parks this trip.

Any advice, hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA

We stayed at Doubletree Guest Suites in June for three nights. It was okay, If it meant not going to WDW, I'd stay there. Our room was musty smelling. The beds were two double and a sleeper sofa that was lumpy. The room was a bit rundown and needed a good going over to get the stains out. The staff was nice. The buffet breakfast was good. We didn't use their bus service, but I don't remember it being continuous. There were about ten trips a day to the parks.

We stayed here for a week September 2002, and wasn't thrilled. I agree with Deb & Bill's comment that the room was run down and smelly. The pool is small and by the highway and seemed dirty. The breakfast was good, but pricey.

The bus service seemed slow, as it services all of the downtown disney resorts, with Doubletree being being in the middle of the 5 or 6 hotels being serviced. I don't know if it was continuous.

I would not go back to this hotel. What other hotels are you considering? We have many hotels on and off site over the years, and I agree that not much time is spent in the hotel. But, it is nice to at least have a clean room that isn't stinky!!!

Wow thanks for the imput. Since transportation is so important I think I will keep my on-site reservation. fwiw - the website advertises "continuous transportation to wdw theme parks" I guess there is a catch to everything.

thanks again

I don't know that it's a catch, as I believe the DD hotels have service every half hour from one hour prior to opening to 2 hrs after.
