We are getting married the first weekend in May of 2009. And plan on sending out our save the dates asap. We wanted to send out magnet STD's but we also feel that the one's Disney sends out provide alot of good info especially for those who arent so computer savy. I also feel that magnets on top of Disney's STD's are too redundent. We are also going to be sending newsletters with the invitations as well. What do you all think?

Okay, I didn't do all that stuff 'cause our wedding had two people:rotfl: ...but I'll put in my two cents.

I think just do the Disney Save the Dates and save the money you would have spent on the magnets to pay for something else for your wedding...

The magnets are cute and all, but like you said, it's kind of redundant.

I am not getting married until September but I plan on sending out magnets as well as the dis STD and newsletters. I think the magnets are great as a little reminder that can be kept in a visible place like the fridge, the dis STD provide a lot of info that I will not be providing, and i think the newsletters would be an update as well as a reminder of important things such as: last day to make reservations, trasnportation

I hope that helps.

I sent out newsletters and save the date magnets last month to all my guests. I just got the excel sheet to send to Disney so they can send their save the dates out. I know WDW and DL work very differently as far as the weddings go and DL sometimes tends to move a little slower. I wanted my guests as informed as possible. I bought magnet material at Staples and using an address label program made some great looking STD magnets for 1/2 the price I would have spent buying them made.

I just had my save the dates sent from Disney and everyone LOVED them. They are a little booklet and people thought that was the best thing ever...lol. I would just use the disney save the dates and send out formal invitations a little later.
