Double strollers in the park?

Does it get difficult to navigate the side-by-side double strollers in the parks? We're going on September with DS4 and DD11mths so I'm trying to figure out what we'll do ... I've considered the sit and stand option, the double jogger from Orlando Rentals or 2 single umbrella strollers which I thought would be easier to maneuver ... just wanted some opinions from you guys! I'm really leaning towards the double jogger b/c it looks so comfy and has the large cargo basket but didn't want to have problems getting around!

We use a large (BOB Duallie Revolution) double jogging stroller on each trip. We never have a problem, it fits through doors, folds up for busses quickly and easily and is very maneuverable.
It seems to be a personal preference as to what is too much work as far as strollers go. Some Dissers seem to think strollers in general are not a good idea- ie. let your kids walk! And some- like me- say they wouldn't go without one!
I have never had a problem with the big double stroller. We are mindful of people's feet and personal space and always park it towards the back of the stroller queues to avoid people having to get around it. We have seen many other larger strollers... so I say if you think you need it- get one!

We have 3 young children and we take a double umbrella stroller (jeep all weather) and a single combi umbrella stroller (larger umbrella). They both fold up small and work great for us.

The only consideration I would have if I were you is if you are using the WDW busses. A larger double jogger would be a NIGHTMARE to manage on the busses with 2 kids and all their stuff. If you are going on the busses take 2 singles or a smaller double.

If you are going to have a car I say go for it.

I don't know about a "nightmare"!
We've done it 4 times with a large double jogging stroller. On and off WDW busses without a problem. Just have your things in the backpack while you wait for the bus to arrive, and have the stroller folded and ready. Hop on the bus, hold the stroller in front of you, standing to the side, and there are NO problems at all.
I would not attempt this strategy without two adults. My DH takes the stroller and backpack and I take the kids. Works well every time.

We mus tjsut travel at different times and in different situations. We have 3 young children and we go at Easter. More times than not we are standing and the busses are very packed. I would never think of taking up that much space for a jogger - very inconvientent for me and the other riders.

If you plan on staying together the whole time, then I would guess the double would be the best. More comfortable for the little one.

I have 2 small children and I borrow a double side by side Mclaren. It is narrow enough to fit in doorways and can go on the monorail and boats (when not too crowded). With the bus you have to have a "system" with the second adult with you...one packs it up and the other takes the kids...

I do find that the side by side works best, as the kids will frequently be in and out and they are the easiest to get in and out of...

Good luck :)

We went the first week of June and used a McClaren double...side by side. The benefits FAR outwiegh any troubles! You can see a pic on my TR. First page of the link in my signature.

Our neighbors gave us a double stroller and my wife and I thought great. That lasted till we got in a park. They fought like cats and dogs in that thing. One would want the top up and the other did not. Then they would pick at each other. They were about 6 and 3.

My wife and I said never again. However, the stroller was not a problem getting on and off the buses. Although I did get tired of lugging that heavy thing around.

Your kids are younger than ours, so you should not have a the situation we did. Have a great time.
