double stroller through park gates?

Hi - We will be bringing a side-by-side double to WDW in Sept. It is an older model Graco (got it as a hand-me-down) and not as wide as my double jogger, but still pretty wide.

We will be staying at ASMo and bussing to the parks. My preference would be to 'setup' the stroller and put all the stuff in the basket right off the bus and then we'll move a lot more quicky to the entrance. My worry is that the stroller won't fit through the gates and we'll have to collapse it again anyway - in which case we might as well just let the kids walk through the gate and not set up until we get in.

Well.....I know some of you have brought double side-by-sides...Can you get it through the handicap gates or does it have to be collapsed?

No problems through the gates but you do have to collape it for the buses.

We used a side by side Kolcraft Jeep stroller, fits fine through the gates -- but beware that you need to take all bags off the stroller prior to the gates for inspection.

Standard width for wheelchair access for things like doorways/pathways is at least 32 inches, but most are at least 36 inches wide. As long as your stroller is not wider than that, you shouldn't have a problem.

It shouldn't be a problem. They will open the gates for you!

We too have the Graco side by side and when we would go through the gates they would let DH take the girls in with the stroller through a side gate after they did the finger scan on everyone. As mentioned you will have to take all bags out for inspection and you will have to fold it up for the bus as it can get quite crammed in there. DH became a pro at breaking it down it almost got to where he was timing himself to see how fast he could do it the next time..LOL This is not NASCAR buddy!!!
