double stroller help

We are going in January, and have two daughters ages 2 & 5. We are looking for a small foldable double stroller to take to the parks and also use in the airports, hotel, etc. The older daughter usually walks everywhere, but if one is riding the other has too also. You know how kids are. Has anyone found a decent double stroller that is not too expensive. Disney is probably the only place we will ever use it. Thanks for the help

I have a Sit n Stand and plan on using it on our trip.
Ds (5 will be 6 on our trip) & Dd (13 months, will be 23 months)
They love this Ds more then dd. He can walk when he wants and just hop on the back and either Sit or stand up and ride..
You can get them for cheap on ebay.
Just do a search for Sit n Stand

Yep, we have a sit-n-stand too. It is so much easier then having to pick up my heavy dd4 to put her in the seat of a double stroller. She has the freedom of getting in and out on her own & it is so fast for us to say "get in" & whiz away! Ours was not cheap, but I have seen them on eBay so if you only plan to use it for WDW (or other amusement parks) go to eBay. It is bulky to lug on the bus but once you get the hang of folding it, it is not too bad.

I, too, vote for Sit 'n Stand. I have an almost 1 year old (this Friday!) and a 4 year old. They love it. I got it at strollers4less.com. It was the cheapest place I found and they have free shipping.

If you don't think you'll use the stroller after you get home from your vacation, I would rent a double stroller each day. It will probably be less than shelling out big bucks for a stroller you'll only use for a week or so.

I'm not sure you can use small to describe any double stroller but we bought a Graco double umbrella stroller for our DDs. It cost $60 at Babies R Us, and I've seen them at Target for slightly less. It folds up like an umbrella stroller, so in that sense it is smaller than other doubles. I bought a basket to put under the seats and a cup holder for the handle...all the comforts of home! We were happy with it.

I recommend the Schwinn Double Stroller. We used it for our November trip for our two DS, ages 2 & 6. It was great! Folded up small like an umbrella stroller, yet it had reclining seats for each child, basket under each seat, hanging bag behind each seat, handles that were easy to make longer for taller parents, and didn't weigh as much as the sit n stand strollers. I bought one of those before I found the Schwinn, it was way too heavy for Disney, hauling on and off the buses. My 6 year old was supported much better in the Schwinn stroller than in regular umbrella strollers, which he was too big for. And the canopy over each seat was great for sunny days and naps. I paid about $89 for this stroller, and we still use it now!

Unfortunately, most of the small folding, good steering double strollers are much more expensive. I do belong to a stroller swap group and I believe that an older Peg Perego Microtwin is up for sale for $90 or $100. From what I understand, these fold really small and are very easy to steer. Let me know if you are interested in a link to this site. Most of the more popular double strollers that are more affordable are really bulky when folded. I'd either go for a used stroller that was smaller or bring a single stroller for the younger child and leave open the option of renting a stroller for the older child. If your older child is just opposed to walking, but doesn't necessarily need to sit, you could also look into a Buggy Board which could attach to the back of your existing stroller and allow your older child to stand on this while being pushed. Otherwise, I'd look at any of the cheaper umbrella type doubles. I'd try pushing it with both children in it before purchasing. Some can be more difficult to push when weighed down with children, especially with wildly varying weights.

double stroller available at Burlington/Baby Depot. We paid $60 it's big enough for my large 4 year old and handles beautifully!

anyhow, it folds quickly easily is very lightweight and has pretty decent (though not full) recline. It's also the perfect size to fit through standard doorway openings and the mandatory 'fire code' width for aisles at most stores. We've never had any problems getting in or out of anywhere but the tiniest shops and then we just each take a kid and leave it parked outside.

I've also called the company and they told me it is rated to hold 30 pounds of kid and 12 pounds of stuff OR 42 pounds of kid per seat. They also told me it is okay beyond that, they just don't recommend it.

Can't say enought good things about it, especially for the price
