in 2 weeks it will still be Halloween stuff unless I'm having a brain freeze. So until the Christmas parties start there won't be any Christmas decorations. Even for the first week or so of the parties it won't really be overly decorated.

:) Yeah, it's not Halloween yet. Around the beginning of October I thought it was the beginning of November. I guess I was pushing for the trip to get here faster.

But the Christmas parties, parade and shows start November 10. They definitely will not be fully decorated and I am bummed about that but there's nothing I can do. The convention is the beginning of November, so....

I was just thinking maybe they would have some areas that are decorated, even if just at the shows. I think I will take their sweaters anyway, we have the big area under the stroller to store them - right!!

VBarry~~~ I have looked through PAGES and I cannot seem to find this user name to PM! I wanted to tuch base to see how we would do this drop off/pick up. So if you are out there can you PM me. :)

I will be at SSR starting the night of the 1st. Don't know if you needed to know this but. . .

Hi vbarry--tried to PM you but your PM box is full, can you post here so the new swapper after you can contact you to coordinate handoff?

Princesslily--can you confirm your participation in the swap? I haven't heard anything back from you and just want to be sure you are still in.

Thanks!!

I tried to PM Vbarry, her PM box is full at the moment. I will keep trying to get in touch with her to ask her to post here so you can in touch with her.I know she is staying at GF then BCV.

Have you stayed at SSR before? we have decided after our time offsite at Marriott Grande Vista in January we will spend nights at SSR as well. I think it is a great resort. we stayed there once before and requested Congress Park, so we could walk to DTD, but did not have a DTD view.
we are supposed to be trying new resorts, but I really like BW, BCV and SSR. offsite, we LOVED Marriott Grande Vista and Cypress Harbour. my mom has a timeshare so we have been using that to exchange to the Marriott resorts.

I stayed at SSR 2 years ago. We loved it and my husband will only go back there. :) This year we are taking my inlaws as well so we will have a 2 bedroom. Be nice to see what that is like. We rent points from owners.

Hi again,

I'm still playing catch-up after being gone a week. Thing here at work seemed to have gone crazy while I was gone! I'm still sifting through the mess.

Welcome to our latest swapper!!

Anyway, more trip info ...
The kids loved, LOVED everything I think - especially when they no longer had to walk everywhere :lmao:.

We started at the Magic Kingdom. We went after dinner the night we got there for a couple of hours and rode a couple of things and saw Wishes. Then we spent the whole next day there (Sunday).

Monday morning, we got the kids up early and tried to do AK. It was a bad day for the kids; I think we had kept them up too late the night before or just wore them out. We left there after lunch at Rainforest Cafe and went back to the hotel and slept. It was a good day to do that - as it was the only afternoon that it rained. We went to dinner that night at Hollywood Studios (50's Prime Time) and then saw Fantasmic (great show!!).

The next day (Tuesday) - back to Hollywood Studios for the day. We had lunch at the Play-N-Dine at the Hollywood and Vine - with JoJo and Goliath, Leo and June from Little Einsteins. This was pretty good. The character interaction was good, but the food was just ok. That night I think we went back to MK again.

Wednesday we slept in and went to Epcot a bit before lunch. We had a late lunch at Coral Reef. That was a pretty cool place and the food was good. The dessert (the Wave I think) was out of this world! We spent the afternoon there and stayed to see Illuminations. I was a bit disappointed with that - I thought Wishes was much better.

Thursday - we had a late breakfast back at Epcot for the Princess Storybook Dining. Dd loved this. The food was good and the meal even comes with a picture package - 5x7 and 4-4x6's of kids with Belle. We also saw Mary Poppins, Mulan, Jasmine, Snow White and Aurora there. That afternoon we just hung around the resort, swimming, resting and had a late dinner at Chef Mickey's. The characters were good here too. It is the fab 5. We had seen most of them other places, but had fun seeing them again.

Friday - we had an early breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace (Pooh characters) and got to get into MK before the park opened. That was really cool. We got some good pictures in front of the castle without the crowds. The food here was the best we had all week. Yummy, dh mentioned the puffed french toast again just yesterday. :) We spent the day until we were worn out at MK - then went back to the resort to swim and pack up to leave.

We actually left a bit early as we wanted to get back to Dd's soccer game that was scheduled for Sat. afternoon (rescheduled from rain-out). So, instead of sleeping there Fri. night, we took off at 10 PM and drove all night to get home. I had trouble staying awake, but that's the way to do it. It only took 8 hours elapsed time to get home since we didn't have to stop as much and didn't eat, etc.

Sorry, this turned out longer than I antcipated!
Favorites:
Meals - food = Crystal Palace, character interaction = Play-n-Dine at HS
Parks - Ds = Hollywood studios I think. Most things we did there were targeted more at his age level and he loved meeting the characters as much as riding the rides.
Dd = MK I think. Although when I asked her what her favorite thing was she said "do I have to pick just one?" :lovestruc

I will get some pictures uploaded this week and try to post them here.

I'm so ready to go back already! Jill - Did I read the list right that you are going back AGAIN in January? I am SUPER jealous. I wish we could do that. It will likely be about 2-2 1/2 years before we go back (sneak in one more trip before dd turns 10).

Again, sorry for the long post ... I got carried away!

Sounds like a great trip Julie! We are doing a couple early morning breakfasts this trip and I hope we are able to snag some empty park pics as well. :goodvibes

I saw that the swap was extending a bit and was hoping to get on the list for late April as long as the swap last that long. We are heading back April 28th- May 7th.

totally unrelated to the swap in any way

Do any of you guys have a Wii? I bought the kids DS a while back, and am thinking Wii for Christmas---do a family gift instead of a bunch of stupid little things that don;t get used in a week anyway.
Buy a Wii, Wii fit, maybe a game for each of us, and extra controllers.

My Dh doesn't work a lot in the winter, he has a tree service, so he is home with us, this way we can do something together everyday allwinter long---except when we are away!!

What does anyone think of the Wii?

We have a Wii and it is a lot of fun. Although I worry about my little ones with it since the thing is so hard to find if they broke it. (Actually I worry more about them launching the controllers through the TV! )

But my oldest, DH and myself have a lot of laughs with it. You find yourself forgetting that everyone else can see your silly movements! :rotfl:

As promised, here are a couple of pictures of the kids in the stroller. My dd is slightly over the 50 lb weight limit - probably 52 lbs or so and 49 1/2 inches tall (mostly legs!). Ds is about 38 lbs and 41 inches tall.

Loving their fan/squirt bottles that cost a small fortune

In front of a fountain at Epcot (you can see me here too - you can see I didn't do ANYTHING with my hair, boy it's a mess! :lmao:)

And dh pushing them - he's about 6' 4" and never complained about the height of the handle.

That is the rain cover rolled up on top. I just kept it there and covered the stroller each time we got out. I think it was my good luck charm as it didn't rain when I had it on there. The one time we got wet, we were on our way to the car from AK and I had rolled it up and stuck it under in the basket.

if dates fill in, then those dates are yours! i am hoping to find someone to run the swap from February on.

we are going in January, but after that trip, I think that will be it for a while. Unless I end up booking a mini trip for next year to go for bdays or something:)

Julie,

What a report! I'd like to do Crystal Palace I think but I'm not sure yet which we will do. We like the one in AK and may do it but we had planned to head to HS the first day. We are only doing 1 character dining. And now we're debating on whether we should do MK first. I guess if your DS liked HS then that may still be a good option for us.

Thanks for the stroller pics too! I will make sure my mom takes her sewing stuff in case we need to make any repairs.

Gail

I'll run it after Feb but I'm not sure how to transfer it over?

Julie, thank you for posting pictures. My kids are about the same size of yours so I was glad to see they fit ok. My DS was just diagnosed with bronchitis, so he is starting antibiotics today. Yuck. Time for me to finish packing. My flight is at 7 am. We then drive over to WDW on Sunday.

How exciting!! have a great time! Be safe.

Julie,
Love the pics! The kids looked like they fit really well, your DD looked like she even was able to sleep in it!

Can I get dibs on the stroller for April 10th thru the 18th 2009. We already have it for 11/20-12/1.

Has it been done? Can it be done?

Same stroller swap two trips!

Now that would be cool.

Never mind...I went back to look and Rainy Daze has it for three times already..... I'll still take it next April if it's available.

Ha!! She was just pretending. But I seriously think she could sleep anywhere - she's just that way.

bjeannep, I'm so sorry to hear that your ds is sick! At least you were able to get the meds started before the trip. Hopefully by the time you get there, they will kick in and he will be feeling better. I hope that you guys have a wonderful time!!

Wow!!I have been watching this thread,I can't believe how long it is stretching for:) If it continues I would really love to be added on in the spring,we are going down May6-14 but would be able to pick up on the 7th where so far it leaves off.:thumbsup2
