I am sorry to hear that, I hope he is okay.

Unfortunately, I did have to remove you from the swap. I know there are a few other swaps with your dates available, more than we had to offer you. You may want to check with one of those.

We had no contact from you for almost a week, and plans had to made to circumvent a no show.

For those of you who are joining after this has been paid for, please know this has been a lot of work to set this up and keep it going. You may not be as invested as the rest of us since you have no monetary involvement, but you play an integral part of our 'team'.
You fill important dates and we are counting on you to do your part and arrange your swap with fellow swappers and provide the necessary information to do so, in a timely enough manner to allow the people around you to plan and if necessary allow us enough time to try to fill your spot should you decide to back out.
I would hope that those of you who get to use it for free, treat this with just as much regard as those who have paid because you are truly getting a great deal!

Just FYI - Since I will be staying in a condo and will have access to a washer I do plan to wash the seat cover during my stay. That puts it about halfway through the original swap. It started in September and was planned through December. So I will wash it early November. If the swap is to continue into February maybe someone else will have the ability and can do the same thing in late December/early January. I believe I read that the seat cover snaps on and off for easy washing so I'm hopeful it won't be a big deal and that it won't take longer than one night to line dry.

If anyone notices anything on the canopy or anything, just let me know and I'll bring down some Totally Toddler to clean that up with.

Thanks everyone for helping to make the swap successful!

The other don't have anything available

As of this morning, the Mickey Express is available Nov 4 - 7. I'm not sure about any others. Did you check the sticky Stroller Swap topic on the budget board? There are about 12 listed there.

I just got great news. We found a business purpose to take us down to Orlando even earlier than expected. :cool1: So I can actually pick up the stroller on November 1. :yay:

I know! We are both self-employed so I find myself constantly scouring for places to go. But you still need money to go there so we never go. But he does have a conference down there for this trip and we knew we'd end up going. Then I'm having dinner with a lady who types for me (never met in person) so that's a great cause. And now we've added a meeting to the beginning of our trip as well which gets us down there a little sooner. We'll probably just hang out at the resort for a few days so that we don't have to incur any additional ticketing charges!

That brings up an interesting poll:
How many of us moms are stay at home moms? Work from home moms? Work out of the home moms? Anyone's hubby take care of the kids full time?

Work from home (primarily) mom myself. I am the main caretaker but hubby is around to help as well and is also available to go grocery shopping which helps a lot.

My DH and I both work FT. I'm about an 45 minutes form home, he is about 30 minutes. I am very lucky that my Mom has been able to take care of my kids. She brings my DS to school 3 days a week, and picks my DD up every day. If it wasn't for her, we wouldn't be able to go to Disney next week.

She also brings them to dance and story time. I do owe her big time. Once my dad retires, I'm going to have to do something extra special for them.

I am a SAHM who homeschools and runs my DH business from home.
So I am a very busy SAHM.
I am more like a WAHM, because even though DH is sole proprietor if I didn't answer the phone and set his schedule and do the paperwork, he wouldn't have time to do it all and the business would go down the drain.

I am currently a SAHM to my 3 kids. It's funny, with each additional kid, we have lost income! With my first, my DD went to daycare and I still worked full time (I am a paralegal). When my 2nd was born 18 months later , daycare wasn't worth it anymore so the company I worked for let me work from home part-time. By the time I got pregnant with #3, my DH and I decided that it was too stressful for me to take care of 3 kids under 5 and try and squeeze 4 hrs of work in a day. So now I don't work outside the home. Luckily DH is an HVAC tech and can do a lot of side work to make up for my lost salary. Most days I think it was easier to go into work, but being home with the kids is much more rewarding :goodvibes

That's so nice of you! What a great swap. I will be staying at the Beach club Villas at the end of Jan/early Feb. I will definitely make sure to wash up the stroller seat in the wash as well. :goodvibes

No wonder you're able to go so often. You have the flexibility of homeschooling. I think that's great. I love the flexibility of that but I don't think we'll be able to do it. I have to work full time from home (and one day in the office at this point) but aside from that, I don't think DS would listen to me! And he loves his time at pre-school. He's been in MMO and preschool and this is his official pre-k year.

I too am a paralegal. I quit my full time job when I had my first DS. I now juggle two kids and a full time job. Luckily I get to do it from home but that is sometimes harder as you have to juggle everything and feel guilty for not being able to spend as much time with them as they want.

Man, it took me until a week ago to create a ticker and now I need to go update it. With everything else I guess I won't get to that until about 4 months after our trip! :confused3

my usual problem is i forget to remove the ticker from my signature when I get back. then i end up one of those people who has one that says 6 months ago I went to disney.
That makes me laugh!

Doxxie I'm jealous! I'd love to stay longer! Enjoy all the extra relaxation! :goodvibes

As to your poll. I'm a SAHM to 4 kids. My middle 2 just had their b-days at the beginning of Oct so now my crew is 10.5, 5, 4, and 2.5. Dh is a restaurant manager and while it's not a high paying job is it enough to get by on since we live a rather frugal lifestyle in a LCOL area.

I'm not sure if I will ever end up back in a regular job or not. I tried to get PT work around DH's schedule but couldn't even get an interview because of my availability. Mother's hours are hard to come by around here so I doubt there will be anything I can find once they are all in school unless I look toward at going back into temp'ing. I'd be fine doing basic office work here and there for some extra money.

Hi,
I am a mostly SAHM,my kids are DD4&DS3. My husband works FT in NYC,long commute, but he is great help on the weekends. I am an RN and I work for my friend who arranges Private Duty RNs for patients who have had plastic surgery. It's a good job, work when I want, mostly nights (kids don't even know I am gone) so I can't complain. So far everything is working out. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I have to get back to packing, we leave on Sunday.
