HI,
I was just wondering about the stroller and the gates at MK? I thought I read somewhere that the stroller did not fit if not what did you do?
Thanks,
Mary Kay

HI,

The first swapper said that it did not fit through at two parks (I forget which two). And that the rear tires pop on and off easily (by design). So they would pop one rear tire off and then hold the stroller up while it was pushed through and then pop the tire back on.

I just wanted to report on the stroller. It was great. We especially enjoyed the rain cover. It was very easy to manuever and fold-up when necessary.

The stroller does not fit through the gates at MK and AK. I simply had the girls get out of the stroller when we got to the gate and I carried it through the gate. No problem.

It was a little hard for me to get the stroller (folded of course) onto the buses if they were standing room only. We waited on a new bus if the buses were full. It was much easier to not have to worry about squashing toes as we got on!

Thanks-
Melanie

hi Melanie--welcome home!!
Thanks for updating us, I am glad it worked well for you.

There was one stroller gate at AK that was wider than the others, they opened for me when we were there as long as you line up perfectly. All the way to the far right, IIRC. MK had no gates wide enough, that was for sure. We tried a few different ones.

How was the rest of your trip--did you have a lot of rain?

Hey all, I figured I would ask a stupid question here where I feel "comfortable" instead of another string. Does anyone know if there is a limit on the number of batteries you can have in a carry on? Is there a limit?:confused3

My DD's camera goes through batteries like they are out of style. I want to make sure I have plenty.

Thanks

I don't know anything about the carry on rules right now but you could probably do a google search and find it or check the FAA's website directly. (Isn't it the FAA?)

But what kind of batteries are you using? Can you get some rechargeable and charge them up every night?

Thanks Doxxie, I will check out the website. As for rechargable, I found two boxes of AA batteries, so I have about 50 of them. I just don't want to make the additional expense of purchasing the new recharcheable ones. Thanks for the suggestion though!

is it open for those dates? does this cost money?

Welcome! My 2 kids are similar in age to your youngest two so I'll let you know how the stroller works with the babies!

Thanks so much! :goodvibes I can't wait to hear how it works out. I'm still trying to figure out the logistics of how I am going to cart around 3 kids! My going to be 6 yr old daughter is as lazy as they come, but of course the baby and my 4 yr old will need the stroller alot more. I was thinking of bringing a stroller and then using the swap one too, but my DH refuses to use two strollers since we will be using the WDW bus system  I have a beco baby carrier, and the baby is really light (16lbs), so that's an option. Ugh decisions!! :confused3

like the title says--free to use.
at this point the stroller has been paid for. if you would like to join, those dates are open. Please let me know if definite and your dates.

right now there would be a gap between you and the swapper before you-she leaves 2/6.
that would hopefully get filled.

I am going to be looking for someone to take over this swap. It is going longer than I anticipated. I will not be continuing to take names and run the swap past february dates.
For those of you joining after the stroller is paid for, I ask that you do something else ask a token of appreciation. Whether it be send a few bucks to someone who previously paid, supply snacks for kids on the swap, cleaning wipies, etc. whatever you would like to do, and it isn't mandatory, just a thought.:)
if there is a Februrary swapper who would like to take over please let me know. Otherwise I will just let it die out.

I would like to thank all of you who have joined our swap.
Our stroller is currently paid for. (actually I am still waiting to receive one payment, but it had to be mailed)

For those of you who are joining after this has been paid for, please know this has been a lot of work to set this up and keep it going. You may not be as invested as the rest of us since you have no monetary involvement, but you play an integral part of our 'team'.
You fill important dates and we are counting on you to do your part and arrange your swap with fellow swappers and provide the necessary information to do so, in a timely enough manner to allow the people around you to plan and if necessary allow us enough time to try to fill your spot should you decide to back out.
I would hope that those of you who get to use it for free, treat this with just as much regard as those who have paid because you are truly getting a great deal!

doxxie and bjeane, have you heard from our MIA swapper as of this morning??

okay.
well, since Bjeanep leaves in 10 days and I am quite certain you have other things to be worrying about and getting ready, I am removing istar31 from the swap.
It has been 5 days since any response, and 3 of us have tried PMing her several times. I have also posted to her with no avail.
We had someone else interested in those dates, who graciously allowed us to give them to istar since they were interested first. However, seeing as the only thing they have done on these boards is search for a stroller, and not even follow up, even after it has been offered free of use..it is not fair to the people who have paid to be a part of this, or the people who have done their part to arrange their parts of the swap.

I will open the dates up, and if someone wants them and is serious, and it can work out with Bjeanep and Doxxie, we can let them in. Otherwise, if you guys can PM details just so I know whats up, thanks!!

I think it's the TSA. I didn't find anything on their site in a quick search but did find this article: http://safetravel.dot.gov/whats_new_batteries.html. It talks about lithium batteries but not alkaline. It says personal batteries are generally allowed.

Good luck!
