Double Stroller at Disney

This is my first time planning a trip to Disney World, and I need stroller help. We're going in January and staying at POR with a 5 & 3 year old and have to have a double stroller. I don't want to rent one because they're so expensive. I would like to take my Phil & Ted's double which folds up but not very compactly. Will that be a problem on the buses or the train in MK? Would I be better off taking two umbrellas? Thanks for any advice!

Could you hold onto your stroller on the bus and not whack anyone with it? If so, then I would go ahead and take it. Keep in mind that they tend to pack the busses full, so you will not have a ton of personal space.

We have taken our P&T e3, and now our P&T Vibe, and loved it. The buses and folding is well not fun, but, seriously, the ease of a good stroller for the rest of the 10+ hours is worth it.

Have fun

We did not have to fold the stroller on the monorail, as long as it fits thru the doors you should be fine, as far as the bus, just remember there may be times where you are standing as long as you can stand and hold the folded stroller you should be fine.

We have to take our P&T and it's been a life saver, you won't regret it.

You'd have to fold it up for the train at MK too - or leave it parked and make the whole circle around the park and come back to it.

The last two years we took our Mac Volo strollers and LOVED them. We went back to the resort during the day for naps, so reclining wasn't an issue. There were also a couple of times DH took one DS and I took the other. (Then there were times too that we left the strollers in one area and just walked around all together.) The two umbrella strollers made the couple of late nights back on the bus, very manageable. Also, the two umbrella strollers were VERY easy on the MK train and on the little train at AK.

Also our boys preferred riding in the strollers - which they hadn't done since right after they turned 3.

I never missed our jogger stroller at WDW (wasn't an option as we had sold it about a year before).

I think you'll be fine with either option. (If you are going to take them in the airport to gate check, the umbrella strollers fit through the scanners, so you get through faster than a jogger. Not an issue if you check it or drive)

If you are considering umbrella strollers and don't already own them, I won't buy the $10 models - you will get tried of pushing and wish you'd brought your P&T.

What works best for us is not a double stroller. Our boys are about the same age as yours. There was quite a bit that the older boy can do that the younger can't so we pretty much have separate vacations. DH took the oldest I the youngest and we meet up for eating and occasional shows. We took our double and he ended up having to carry the 5 yo around a lot since I had the stroller, and I had to fight with that thing all day! I found a really nice umbrella stroller for $3 at a yard sale and I'm thrilled, it'll be perfect for me, easy to fold up and DH can take our single stroller for 5yo.

Okay a bit OT, but where are you all getting your P&T strollers at?? I think they are cool, but I cant find anywhere that has them.

Thanks for all the input! Did anyone ever worry about their stroller being stolen? Is that a problem at Disney? Also, LWatson, I purchased my P&T almost 5 years ago at The Right Start which has since gone out of business at our mall - not sure if they still have any open retail locations. Hands down, it is the best stroller I've ever owned and worth every penny I paid for it.
