So my undercover tourist hard plastic tickets won't work?
Yes they will, they are exactly what we used to get all of ours.

Our last day of our trip was the 4th. We had magic bands and park tickets. Tickets were not linked to the band. We were able to use the band at Epcot and Magic Kingdom and could also pull hard tickets....so they were still working two days ago.
If your tickets were not linked to the band, how did you use the band at Epcot and MK?
We were linked with MBs and had hard APs and were able to get FP- in the parks over Thanksgiving.
It doesn't make sense for them to try to force every visitor to stay onsite. They simply don't have enough hotel rooms for all of the offsite visitors.
I could see them offering better prebooking or even more FP+ though.
Same day could also crater the wifi at the parks at opening - I can just imagine everyone on the buses in the morning screaming at the driver to speed up so they can get connectivity
Hi, Todd. Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and Annual Passholders will receive a band, as well as those guests who purchase a photography package. Guests who stay at non-Disney hotels will receive a ticket with features of touch to enter the park, touch to redeem FastPass+ and touch to pay. These guests can participate in My Disney Experience and purchase a MagicBand if they wish.
UPDATE 2 p.m. Jan. 7, 2013 -Disney has released a few more details:
Disney FastPass+ service is included with theme park admission.
The MagicBand is initially available to select Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests and guests who purchase other specific products.
Other guests will be able to use their standard ticket to access the benefits of MyMagic+, such as making FastPass+ selections on the My Disney Experience website and app.
In the past you could NOT get an FP- with a ticket unless that specific ticket had been used to enter the park. So did you use your AP's to enter the park? Or were you able to get FPs with APs using the MB to enter the parks?
Given the comments about FP+ being an onsite only perk, I feel it's pertinent to post this information again. This was stated by Tom Staggs in a response to comment 13 on this Disney Parks Blog post. Source

thanks for the link but I missed the part where he talked about the tiers (did not read all 200 comments). All Staggs is saying unless I missed it is that you get FP+ if you have a ticket. Everyone who has an active ticket can't possibly book FP+ for TT tomorrow, the ride just doesn't have the capacity. However, they can probably get one for Captain EO which is all he is really saying.![]()
The FP for headliners will become priceless when parks are at peak capacity. They are already hard to get, which makes them valuable to someone...
chaaa ching
I think most people are saying that they believe that FP+ will be available to everyone the day of their park visit but unless they are staying on site they would not be able to book in advance so would basically get what's left over. On site guests would have a clear advantage. An exception might be AP holders who would have some advance FP+ booking ability, not sure how much.
Someone please correct me if I'm misstating this.
Does anyone else think they are removing the KTTW cards from being used in the FP- machines because of the upcoming holiday weeks which are the most crowded time of year?
Maybe they plan on all KTTW cards not to have the magnetic stripe at all resorts in the next couple of weeks?

I didn't say he mentioned anything about tiers - he didn't (though it should be noted that the tests occuring when that was posted in Jan 2013 had been tiered up until that point).
There were a few in this thread making comments about how FP+ would be an onsite only perk (not that prebooking would be, but that the whole thing would be), and I just wanted to address that as Disney has clearly stated it won't be.
I agree with ArwenMarie (I think that's who it was anyway) who said that the onsite perk will be a +10 day window for prebooking, much like ADRs have already.
