Leaving Friday after work to drive down to WDW for New Years!! :woohoo:

Warmth.. Here we come!!!!! :cool1:

My cousin is looking for someone to make a dress for her will be 6 month old to match her DD4's Belle Peasant dress.........you know, the blue one she wears in the beginning of the movie. I figured if anyone knew someone who could make a Disney Princess dress, it would be here..............

So does anyone know someone who might be able to do it?

TIA, hope you all had a GREAT holiday.....

Hi Everybody!! Hope everybody had a nice Holiday. My son has been sick with the flu so it's no fun!

This is kinda long, so hopefully you understand my blabbing.. ha

I was wondering if any of you have tried www.kayak.com for flights? My uncle just told me about it. I signed up for a daily email of flights. It's pretty neat, you can set up certain days you want them to look at a flight and they will email you everyday the cheapest flights on all the airlines.

The only thing I was trying to figure out is .... I am typing in the days of Sept. 25-Oct. 5th. I was looking for a package with airfare and hotel. But I don't think it will work. It's giving me a rate for the hotel for all week. I just need it for a day or 2 before the cruise leaves and then the day we get back. If I do it as a one way, the cost is to much.

If I look for a deal for airfare and the hotel I can't do it as a round trip. Does that make sense?

Thanks!
Tonya

Tonya, I'm familiar with Kayak, and there is no way to just do 2 nights of hotel with all the websites it keeps track of, so therefore, there's no way to do it on kayak.

I'm feeling the same pain. :) What I do is look for airfare separately from the hotel nights. Set up a separate agent for the airfare. Get a feel for the price ranges, then go to the hotel's website to look for a better deal. Same goes for airfare, actually. Narrow down who you'll fly with via Kayak, then go to that airline's website to purchase tickets.

Hope that helps!

Hi all. It sounds like you all had mostly good holidays. :wizard: for getting well to those of you who are or have family members who are ill:sick:

We had a nice Christmas and now also have kids who are 9 and 11:eek: :upsidedow Busy days! But best of all I just tonight booked our pre cruise week at WDW:yay: We will be at Port Orleans French Quarter (Dave and I stayed there on our honeymoon but haven't stayed there since--but we did really enjoy it so we are excited to be there again).

Marika got Lego Mindstorms (a Lego Robotics set--you can write your own programs for the bots you build) for Christmas (it was origanally going to be for both kids, but we decided it would be too diffucult/frustrating for Rio so we got him a simpler robot called Robosapien). Anyway, I came down the stairs after folding laundry this evening and Rio met me at the bottom saying "I treid to stop them" (and I am sure he really did--very like him to worry about me!). So what did he try to stop??? The new robot program:

Yep, Marika with her Daddy's encouragement had prgroamed the bot to draw a Mickey ON THE FLOOR:lmao: :lmao: It's all good--they are laminate floors and it comes right up with a little Windex:rolleyes:

Does anyone know if we will be docking in Costa Maya. In speaking with friends, they mentioned that the port was still closed due to hurricane damage and I was wondering if anyone here knew anything. Also, does anyone know of a way to find out how many teenagers will be on our cruise (other than our cruisers list)? Does DCL have this information and will they give it out? Thanks.

From past experience cruiseing to recently damaged ports, I doubt DCL will make a call on whether or not to go to Costa Maya until VERY close to the sail date. They will give Costa Maya as much chance as possible to fix the pier before going with an alternate. Just form what I have heard about the construction I am thinking that are chances are about 50/50 at this point.

To the best of my knowledge there is no way to know how many teens will be on a given cruise prior to sailing. But, my knowledge is not all that vast;)

Hadley: So the next gift to your DH will be a pack of washable Crayola markers? *grin*

Fiona got Crayola bathtub crayons from one of the fifty present openings at our house this month. She's having a blast and is getting us to write letters and numbers and words and all sorts of things for her... Which is lovely, except the "crayons" aren't as temporary on the grout as they are on the TILE. :headache: Momma outsmarted herself, huh? :rotfl: But hey, Joseph had a technicolor coat, we have grout that matches any paint color we eventually put in there, right???

I have no idea on the status of Costa Maya or on if DCL keeps a public list of the number of teenagers on each cruise. However, I have a feeling that a public list of teenagers is not possible due to safety concerns.

Have a nice night, everyone!

Hey all:wave2:

I hope you all had a fabulous holiday season. things have been so hectic the past month around here so I haven't had the kind of time I would like to be keeping up with the thread here. I gave my mom the cruise yesterday when we celebrated a belated Christmas...even though she already knew about it LOL.

Ok so as some of you know my brother is getting married the week before the cruise (9/20) this past October I was asked to be a bridesmaid so I was thinking I would just wear the bridesmaid dress for Formal night on the cruise and kill 2 birds with one stone. Never having been on a cruise before do people get dressed to the nines for Formal Night?

So today we went bridesmaid dress shopping and picked out the dress. Here is a couple pics of the dress (it will be pewter and the tie will be tangerine in color (Future SIL isn't sure if we will keep the ties or not depends on how it looks when we get them)). It is a pick-up style dress and where the pick-ups come together are like silver sparklies. Will I be totally out of place?

Have a great time, Stacy!!! Break the house in!

:rotfl2: That's hilarious! Very cool robot though!!

Hey there, Lisa! I say go for it!! I always get dressed up formal when I cruise as well. I figure there are few times that a girl can dress up like a princess and paint the town (ship) red, so why not?!?!

Lisa--I LOVE:love: the dress. You should absolutely wear it. Count me in as another lady who will be in a full length gown (even a small train IF I can get into the barbie dress:rotfl2: ). I generally even go for opera lentgh gloves as well--I figure we so rarely get the chance to dress to the nines I take it when I can get it!

I love the Mickey :thumbsup2
I also love the dress, I think it will be perfect!

I have to admit, with all of the holiday craziness and other general life stresses I have been out of touch with the cruise in 2008. I just realized, the balance is due in something like 7 months :scared: better get writing!

I think I'll be watching the sales in the next few weeks for some formal wear. I need to revamp my closet anyhow......Lionel is good with his suit, maybe an update on ties and shirts. Men have it so easy! Not fair. :sad2: Me? Everything but my little black dress is so old. Time to start shopping......

Hope everyone had wonderful holidays, and here's to a happy new year!

Hadley - maybe the Barbie dress can be a new year's resolution? ;)

Wow! The dress is fabulous. I didn't realize that formal night was truly "formal". We have only been on the Wonder 4 night cruises. I think I may have to do some real shopping for our trip too. My little black dress seems to have shrunk a few sizes - darn closet, it keeps doing that.

Hello all - Things have been busy here and we only have one party (at our house) left before we breathe again.

I don't have a lot of time but wanted to post quickly and say HI :wave2:

Also Happy Belated Holidays to everyone! And Happy New Year! (At least I'm not late for everything!)

I had to catch up on about 20 pages last night, so there is no way I can comment on everything, but 2 posts made me laugh so hard I cried. The first one was a while ago - something about power poles and snow, but the second one was the Mickey head the robot drew. Loved it!!!

I plan to wear my formal long dress from my DSIS's wedding from 2 years ago. I will have to lose a little to get back into it though. My closet seems to shrink my clothes too. :rotfl:

Well, Megan just made a huge mess in the kitchen. She was getting herself a glass of water and got her cup stuck in the water dispencer on the fridge. Oh well, it was time to mop anyhow. :lmao:

I hope everyone has a safe and fun New Years! I can't wait until the cruise is within the same year!

As a heads up, I was looking at the Newport News site last night, and they have lots of very cute little cocktail dresses for about $50. I've never actually bought clothes from there, but that is where I have gotten all of my bathing suits and they have all been great! Plus, I have a $20 refund for there......I could get a little formal for $30! I love a bargain.

:thumbsup2

I just saved over $500 on party dresses at Clearwater Creek, between the 60% off in the store and the 70% off online items code posted on the Budget Board. :cool1: I bought 4 dresses (among other things :goodvibes ) and none of them were over $50. :cool1:

I'm going to be unbearable to live with today, because I'm so proud of myself! :rotfl: I saved a bunch more than I spent, and that's such a great feeling!
