Heather your little guy is one brave soul:thumbsup2 Looks like you were having FUN (but not my kind of fun--no way--been there, done that, NOT doing it again:lmao: ). I'm glad you had a nice trip and it is good to see you posting again.

We were at disney Dec 5-10 and My 5 year old did Tower of Terror for the first time and LOVED IT, I HATE IT LOL. You are not goobers, we try to match every day and every other trip besides this one we wear our Eagles jerseys on Sunday

I have one word for the Buckeyes candies, YUMMY, taste just like Reese's, make them today along with Oreo truffles, another YUMMY

No now for us, just rain, hope the snow clears up for everyone else

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know we have to back out of this trip. A lot can happen when you book a trip 19 months out. We own our own trucking business & the fuel prices are KILLING us. It just doesn't seem like this is going to work out. The cruise itself is a great price but adding in airfare & all the extras is just going to add up to too much. Hopefully when the new ships are built one of them will be on the west coast all the time & the prices might not be so high that we'll be able to go on one then.
So to all, have a great time & have a drink or two (or three) for me.

BYE it was great reading all about you & your adventures
:grouphug:

Tonnie

Tonnie: I am sad to see you go. I really am, but I do know those fuel prices are hard on everyone, must be extra hard on you with the business. I thank you for letting us know instead of just leaving us to wonder why you have dissapeared. Best of luck to you and your family.

Tonnie, the gas prices are hurting everyone but not as much as they are hitting your bottom line. As the prices go up for gas; the prices for everything is going to go up. We have entered into a process that may not stop for years. I have less spendable money now than when I got out of school. My income has not kept up with the cost of living. Gas and health insurance are too of the biggest issue I have.

You will be missed and I will keep a positive though for everyone that things will turn around and life will get better not worse in the near future. There is a DISNEY Vacation somewhere in your future. Lois

Tonnie - :grouphug: I know what you're saying about the extras! :scared1: $400/person airfare! :scared1:

Best of luck with your business!

Brandie

We are sorry to hear about losing Tonnie's family, as well. :(

Tonnie- Sorry to hear that you have to cancel the cruise. We had to do the exact same thing last year with what should have been our first Disney Cruise. :guilty:

Everyone- So, we just decided to take a "last minute" trip to Disney World in February (hey, that IS last minute to us!;)). I found airline tickets from Oregon to Florida for $250 each. I thought that was really good........?

We are so excited because none of us have ever been to Disney World before! Actually, we have never even been to the East Coast.

That is a great price! May I ask who you are flying with? I just paid 400 for Frontier Airlines down and Ted back, for our cruise in May. *yeeeeeouch!*
To go with just Frontier was about $385.

Brandie

Brandie- We got our tickets for only $255.10 (including all taxes & fees) with Delta Airlines :woohoo: at their website. It is amazing how quickly the prices for airlines change, it is like watching the stock market :) .
We usually fly Alaska, so I am hoping that Delta doesn't dissapoint :) We used our Alaska Air miles to book our flight for the cruise in September, so I haven't really been paying attention to prices for then.

Thanks for the tip, but it looks like Delta'll quote me $358. *argh*

Tonnie, I'm so sorry to hear how impacting these fuel costs have been for you. Selfishly, I'm sorry we won't be able to meet you, your immediate family, and extended family. I do admire you for establishing and maintaining your own business. I wish you continued success and a vacation in your future!! Take care, and I'm sure we'll see you around the boards!

....We did a quick Disney World trip the 6th-9th and had a blast. Our 4yo LOVES the Tower of Terror and we rode it 8 times.....

Your DS4 trumps me!! Glad you had a nice getaway!

Welcome back!!

Whoa! 30-foot swells?!!! Yikes! Did you get to see the pools rock and roll?
That's great that you had such a wonderful time...I mean MAGICal time! :rotfl:

As many of you, I’ve also been MIA for a few days due to holiday "stuff". I finished making 26 personalized coasters out of 4" tumbled marble tiles. They came out great!!! I’m very proud of them, if I do say so myself. A scrapbook project was finished up today, and I still have one more craft to complete. Another accomplishment has been getting my winter Boyds Bears out of hibernating for playful displaying in my home. I just love these guys and have a particular fondness for the white furred critters.

Baking & candy making (buckeyes and PB fudge) *could* be considered complete (although I of course have much more I want to do), wrapping is 95% done, and Christmas cards are WAY late getting out as I usually have them out the weekend following Thanksgiving! That's been my task for tonight. Goal is to get at least 75% of them done…I’m not quite there yet, however, my hand needed a break from writing! I have tomorrow off from work, too, but I have to fit in my already full schedule the making & decorating of a birthday cake. Whew!

We did get around 4” of snow on Saturday and a little freezing rain that followed. So not much to write home about. I hope we get some more for Christmas. My mom, who lives 80 miles north of me, got around 10” on Saturday. We’ll be headed up there for Christmas, so it will be no doubt be a classic white Christmas! :santa:

Well, the clock is ticking away and this elf is still busy busy busy! Have a good week everyone!!

AWWW Thanks everyone for the support. Now I am even more bummed out cuz you are all so nice.

sorry you can't join us on this go round. you do know the Magic will be on the west coast for the summer don't you? she repo's in may and comes back here in late Aug. maybe you can slip in on a cruise if they run some deals there. good luck and God Bless.

Arin--Wow your very first trip to WDW. I believe you will have a blast and I can't wait to hear your impressions upon your return:goodvibes

Stacey--Glad to have you back. It sounds like you had a fun trip:thumbsup2

Brandie--My in laws usually end up taking Southwest from DIA into Orlando. I don't recall them EVER spending over $200 on airfare (I usaully book it for them so I know what they spend;) ). Keep an eye on SWA when they finally get around to releaseing fares. BTW if we do end up in Boulder at a b-day party I hope I can sneak in a visit with your family for a couple of hours:rolleyes1

Kimberly--you have been one BUSY elf:eek: I am impressed at your ability to accpmplish so much:thumbsup2

Yesterday while we were in the car the spoof song "12 Pains of Christmas" came on the radio. The conversation in the back seat went somewhat as follows:
Marika "You know, if the family took a cruise for Christmas the guy wouldn't have to hang up the lights 'cause they woudln't be home anyway"
Rio "Good idea, and they wouldn't have to shop because the cruise could just be the present for evryone"
They kept going and in the end decided taking the cruise would solve all but the bills and cards issues:rotfl2:
So then I asked them if they thought we should take a crusie for Christmas next year. They said no becuase they can take two crusies in the off season for the same amount of money instead (smart cookies these two:lmao: ) and besides they like decorating the tree and cooking and making gifts:rotfl:

Hadley, flying Southwest with a 3 year old gives me the heebie jeebies, so I'll pay the extra to have all 3 of us in a row in assigned seating. I'll just grumble about it a bit and remember longingly of my $250 tickets just a year or so ago!!! :rotfl:

Looks like for my May cruise, if I do a partial quote on Southwest (can't price return on May 11th, just May 9th), it would be $830 for the 3 of us on web only fare.

Brandie

Well the 45 cards being mailed are all done, yet I still have about 30 that will go to work for hand delivery that need "sprinkles" put in them before sealing them up. I'm quite known for card confetti, so everyone knows if you get a card from Kimberly, don't open it up in the car!! So I can't let anyone down. :rolleyes1

I managed to get a little cooking in this morning. Plus, the cake is baked and waiting on me to frost and decorate it. It's orange with orange marmalade between layers....sounds yummy to me! Still lots to accomplish before I meet a friend for cocktails later!!

Soooo...TTFN!

:rotfl: That's an awesome story! I just love the way kids think!!

I'm with you, Brandie. I personally dislike the group cattle call and running of the bulls down the gateway to the seats, much less when you add having the children of her age, especially. It's just so challenging when at least one parent has to stay in line while the other lets the little munchkin(s) roam around freely before they're confined to the plane. I'm good with my assigned seat so there's less anxiety and standing around in lines (can you say 'control freak'?!). I'm REALLY hoping that Delta will end up having near equal prices as SW when the time comes to purchase flights for Sept.
