Sorry we don't have the room you are looking for! We would have traded you no problem!

I've been MIA here lately due to all the Halloween goings on around here. Halloween by far is not my favorite day, but it seems we do a lot during this time. I always make Megan's costume and this year she was Snow White:

We went to 3 parties and 2 pumpkin patches! We have a neighborhood Halloween party the Sat before Halloween and tot that night too. It's nice to see most of the neighborhood participate and our neighborhood is mostly dark on Halloween night freeing us up to go to another party.

I also drive the kids from house to house on the golf cart. We only have 54 homes, but they are spread out and have long driveways and the last time we tried to walk it most of the houses turned off their lights before we got to them.

CrazyZeus - We were at WDW last December during the filming of the Parade (It was the first part of December). We just went to a different park on the main filming day and missed the whole mess.

:wave2: Hello to all the new cruisers! I'm off for Tae Kwon Do and other Tuesday evening stuff.

Have a great week everyone!

You're daughter's costume is beautiful. You did an awesome job. She is really cute too !

Hello everyone!

I have a questions for all you seasoned cruisers. Do any of you have rolling duffle bags that you like (or LOVE)! I want to get 1 or 2 since I have read here on the disboards that they are great to bring on cruises since they fit under the bed nicely.........

TIA for any suggestions!

Crissi

Marika has a Samsonite one which she has had about 3 years. It has held up really well (we travel loads) and Rio has a LLBean one that we got just before the repo cruise in May. The fabric seems thinner, but strong. It handled the flight home from Europe and a couple of domestic flights quite well (and we have always had good luck with LLBean items). I love the rolling duffles for the cruise.

Tiffany: Man that Snow White dress looks great. How did you ever manage those sleeves?

I am sure I told you this in real life but Steve adn I got 2 at Target, they are Reebok brand and so far so good, I think we had them last October when we were at BCV, next time you are over I will show them to you! We are using them in December, they hold A LOT of stuff. We usually take both and then have a bag for our toiletries, works great!

Tiffany, Megan looks so adorable!!! Great work on her costume! Sounds like you've been thoroughly enjoying the season!

Working on that holiday shopping list for the fam? I received an email tonight with a coupon code for $10 off a $50 order*. Most coupon codes I've found on-line are for $5 off a $50 order.

Coupon Code: HOLI2007

* Excludes button, magnet or mini-button orders (singles or multi-packs), bulk orders, taxes and shipping fees. Cannot be combined with any other offers, discounts or coupons. Valid through Novermber 9, 2007 at 11:59 p.m. (PST).

Great costume Tiffany! Megan looks so adorable!

Hadley, glad you can get back to normal, whatever that is :goodvibes Maybe you can have dinner or something with the cast sometime.

About MNSSHP - we aren't planning on it, but Jim and I went to the Holiday one the night before our Dec 05 Eastern. Can't remember the acronym - anyway - we had a great time - didn't stay too late, but there were no lines for the rides! Everyone was looking for cookies and watching the parades. We have a pic of us on Splash Mtn - the only ones in the car! :lmao:

We finished our plans for after the cruise today. Ryan wanted to go to a day at AK when we debark, so we are staying at SSR Oct 4&5, checking out on the 6th. So we'll do DD or BW on the 4th, just relax - maybe do some :laundy: , and then AK on the 5th - not going to do DDP. We'll get enough great food on the cruise. A little confusing for us to figure out the transportation, but we got it:

Sep 26 - Hyatt MCO
Sep 27 - Cruise Transportation from MCO
Oct 4 - Cruise Trans to SSR
Oct 6 - ME to MCO

Thanks everyone for the kudos on Megan's costume! The sleeves took forever and after the first one the sale price for the Snow White costume at Disney.com looked pretty good, but I decided to just finish what I started.

I realized while I was looking for Megan's picture that I did not get a good picture of Grady in his costume. He was a Star Wars character (Jabba Fet - I think that is wrong, but I'm not sure the actual spelling). We bought his costume at Wal-mart.

About rolling duffles - We have several of these! We love them and use them all the time. They hold a ton and not only flatten out nicely, but can be stored inside eachother. Doug and I took our rolling carry ons and a hanging garmet bag in October and did not use the duffles, but we will use duffles for the Double Dip. We bought our 2 giant ones at the suitcase outlet at the outlet mall - they were on sale for about 1/2 of their normal cost. Megan's we bought at the Totes store (In the outlet mall) and Grady's was bought at Wal-Mart. Grady's seems the least well made, but has held up well to 2 cross country trips and a trip to the World. (Megan's and Grady's bags were both purchased while we were away because we needed more luggage to get home than we came with :lmao: . I've tried to learn from this and pack an extra bag now). :confused3

Magicfor2 - What is the dancing pickle? I love it!

Kimberly - Thanks for the coupon code for CafePress! I'm going to spend a little time on there today an see if I can come up with a $50.00 order.

Hadley - I wish we lived closer and could have seen Pippin. I'm glad it went well. What's next?

I know I've missed some things, but this is all my brain can come up with pre-Latte. I'm off to get the kiddo's ready for school and make said Latte!

Have a great day everyone :thumbsup2

Does anyone know the filming dates for the Disney Christmas Parade thingy...the one they actually film at the first of December but don't show until Christmas morning?

We'll be at WDW Dec 3-6 and I'm hoping to avoid that whole scene :)

Last year they filmed it at Disneyland over Laborday weekend because we were there. IT was a three day weekend and we went to Disneyland for a quick trip. We were on the show watching Aly and AJ. We didn't kow it would be filmed then but the crowd was not bad - walked on rides at both parks. It was crowded around mainstreet all day because people had staked out there viewing spot (which is why rides were empty!!!)
I remember reading that WDW was the first week in Dec. but I am not sure - but I wouldn't worry about it - I bet it will not make your trip less fun - It helped ours!

Thanks for all the replys about the Christmas filiming! Looks like we're all good...

I read that one family is staying after the cruise for some WDW time. We're doing that as well! Haven't decided how many days--thinking 2 or 3 maybe? I just know that when we got off our cruise a few weeks ago, DH & I both wanted to stay on Orlando longer & go to Disney! That's the first vacation we've ever NOT been ready to head home at the end. The cruise was truly magical :wizard:

:rotfl: As a newbie seamstress, I would have totally ditched the project and gone for the purchased costume! I look forward to the day when I'm talented enough to make something like that - awesome job! :thumbsup2

Trust me, the sleeve that took 3 hours was on the floor several times while I surfed the web at Disney.com. :rotfl: I think next year we will go with something easier (OK I already have the pattern for Aroua and Belle - She may end up with both for the cruise :confused3 )

OK....I Googled the exact name and it's the Frangipani Scalp Massage (I spelled it wrong in my first post). DH said that when we went (it was actually formal dinner day at 1:00) he said the salon was completely empty. The salon lady said that men often come in for the service ( I was afraid he'd be the only guy in the place!). We are going to schedule a few while we're on board this time because it was so amazing...

For those of you with husbands or men nervous about getting spa and salon services, assure them that the days of spas being only for women, or just plain too "girly" for men, are long over. I work at Spa Bellagio in Las Vegas, and trust me, we see JUST as many men as we do women for ALL services, massages, facials, waxing, etc. Caution: Once you start, it's easy to become addicted! :thumbsup2

HI! Since I've seen so many cute Halloween photos- I had to share a couple of pics of my grandbabies this halloween:

Hadley....Not sure how I missed your post about Pippin being over, but I did! Sounds like you made some really great memories and friends! Is it now time to take a break until you get through the holidays and then you can start a new "project"? :)

Tammie...your grandbabies are just too adorable!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Your dress is awesome, too, btw!

Have any of you ever watched Duff Goldman, the owner of Charm City Cakes in Baltimore and star of his Food Network show, "Ace of Cakes"? Well, I'm looking forward to meeting him this weekend!! You may recall a couple of cakes I decorated "for fun" that I posted here, so you know I have an interest in the hobby. I'm by FAR a professional though!!

A friend of mine and I are driving up to Cleveland to go to the "Fabulous Food Show", and he's going to be one of the many guest celebrity chefs giving demos and autographs. Duff cracks me up with his non-traditional techniques. Alton Brown and Giada De Laurentis are other Food Network stars that will be there. I think it's going to be really fun with exhibitors, shopping, demos, food tastings, a chocolate bar (although I personally don't fall over for chocolate unless it's dark or white), wine tasting, live music, and so much more.

I know we have nearly 10 Buckeye families out there, so if you have time to get away to Cleveland Fri, Sat, or Sun, you may want to check it out!

Kimberly, how exciting that you get to see some celebrities of your hobby! I think your cakes look pro! :thumbsup2 I haven't watched alot of food network - I like Rachel Ray cuz she's fast, and I mostly watch Travel Channel! I'm a big Samantha Brown fan! :cheer2: Hope you have a great weekend! maybe you'll get some new recipes or designs!

LuvTheEars: I love the costumes and I envy you your redhead baby!

Hadley: Congrats on Pippin!

ScoobyPop: I agree about the addictive... DH loves massages! :thumbsup2

Tammie: Those are beautiful grandbabies!

Have a nice night, everybody!

Brandie

Samantha Brown is AWESOME! She's so educational AND entertaining. Love her! DIS Unplugged gave her a shout-out several weeks ago when they were talking about taking a Disney Adventure tour to Europe. They were raving about how informational she was for them to get ready for their trip and found what she provided in her show was right on and extremely helpful.

BTW, loving your Pickle, Tammie!! I smirk everytime I see it posted!!

Hadley we would hit up the party if they have one earlier in the week as well. Glad you had a great run during Pippin:goodvibes

Tiffany great work on your daughters costume she looks beautiful in it!

Tammie I'm hoping we will spend a couple days after the cruise at the world as well so we can partake in the F&W Festival. Love the pics of your grandkids they are just adorable.

Chris I'm scared I will be addicted to the spa treatments I better start saving up now I kinda want to try out the spa villa.

Kimberly that is so cool about meeting Duff. I have seen a few of the shows and his cakes have a huge wow factor.

My husband is a total convert. He was complaining that his back hurt so I made him go to the massage therapist I go to & he is hooked. I told him about the scalp massage one everyone here was talking about and he said he for sure wanted to do that one.

One bit of info I learned though when we had our couples massage at Palm Springs in September. It really wasn't as great as I thought it would be. The "couples" part of it I mean. I didn't want to talk because I didn't want to ruin his relaxation and he said he felt the same way too. It wasn't that I was uncomfortable, I just couldn't relax as much as if I were by myself. SO, the couples massage I had planned on for the cruise may end up to be 2 individual massages now.

Thanks, Brandie and Kimberly :)

Lisa, I know - we didn't like being kicked off the boat and shuttled to the airport - "you're outta here!" :rotfl2: we wanted a couple of days to de-spoil ourselves! F&W sounds great, too! Didn't think about that - but Ryan loves Epcot - and food. and drink. Maybe we'll have to do WS on Sat and AK on Sunday! Now if I can only convince DH!!!
