Today is T-330 days from October 4, the day we get off the ship.

What does that mean? Well turn your fare watchers on because most, if not all airlines will let you purchase your tickets starting at 330 days out (Southwest and Airtran (both 6 months out) are known exceptions). So if you're planning to fly back home on Saturday, now's the time to start watching the price trend.

We're another step closer!! :goodvibes

Hello Kimberly -

One more exception to add to the list. Airtran usually only lets you book 6 months in advance !!

Kimberly--you are full of such lovely bits of trivia:rotfl2: How do you keep up wit hal this? I think it's great (but we won't be buying airfare for a while yet anyway).

Thanks, Crissi!!

Hadley, I assure you I'm full of more than tibits of trivia at times! :lmao:

I've been looking but I have another week to wait before we can book due to our plans. Anyone out the fly Midwest? They seem to have the best schedule at this time.

I really hope we go to another port and not just another sea day. I did not even consider another sea day as a possibilty and just assumed that we would to a different port. You know what happens when you assume. My guess is that we will end up going to Grand Cayman since it is already part of their normal itenerary.

I think that they will go to Grand Caymen if Costa Maya is still not open. But I wonder why so many have the fear that it will still be closed. They depend on our money for their livelihood rebuilding is going to be top of the list. I think it will get done unless the storms next year do more damage. Looking at the glass half full.

Also need to add SouthWest to the 6 month list. The advantage is that they do not rearrange you over and over again because when they post a schedule it is pretty much set.

Stacy: I tried everything I could think of to get Doug to book your cruise in December while we were on the Wonder in October, but he just woudln't go for it. :sad2: Have a great time! It sounds like a lot of fun!

Wow, not even with the Huge price drop? :confused3 Most of our members got a $700 credit to switching to a GTY 12.. They all got room assignments in the last two days.. Some were upgraded to 9's & 10's.. Most have 11's and only one or two still in a 12..

Well at least we have September !!!!

Michael: You really must speak to your boss! How unfair of to expect work to take precedence over the DIS;)

We are a bit melancholy today. We got together with some firends last night to ccelebrate Dave's patent (his second ever patent was just issued:woohoo: ). One set of friends (a German couple and their darling 8 month old) announced that as of Friday he was able to secure a transfer back to Germany. It is really good for them (they are seriously missing family now that they have a baby) but we will miss them so (and I can't see us visiting Germany until the dollar gets stronger).

Congrats on the patent! That's exciting.....but you have to share what it was a patent for!

THANKS. We're pretty proud of him:)
Well, it is techinical, boring, and incomprehensible (to most) stuff. The SHORT version is it is for a type of mold which allows the molding of round parts (from rubber or plastic) to be done without waste. When used it can save tons of landfill space and large amoutns of money by pretty much eliminating all waste form this type of molding. Now, if the company would only invest in builidng hte molds:rolleyes1 (I have a big problem with filling landfills when we can avoid it).

Kimberly,

Sorry about your Buckeyes today. My team lost too. :sad2:

Leslie

Awe...thanks, Leslie. I'm sorry for your loss as well. You're from Texas, so I assume it's either Texas A&M or Texas Tech who brought a moment of silence to your household as I see they both lost yesterday. Which one are you most loyal to, or is your favorite team not even in Texas?

Since I was up in Cleveland at the Food Show, I didn't see the loss unfold (and darn it I surprisingly forgot to DVR the game). However, we were checking scores on the internet with our phone. We were at the champgane and wine tasting when we did a score check (that was at 8 minutes left in the game) and saw we were behind. We were still tasting wine at the end of the game, so helped a little bit of the sorrow. :drinking1 ;)

My friend asked if he should tell me it was over when it was indeed over, and I said "No...I'll pass". :rotfl: Oh well. I voluntarily haven't seen any commentary or footage yet, but I'm still proud of those guys!!

How AWESOME!! Congrats to Dave!!

Sorry to hear that your friends are going to move so far away, but as you pointed out, it sounds like it's best for them.

I see I'm not the only one who thought of Kimberly as scores unfolded yesterday... sorry about the loss! I'm a USC fan, so we went through our nightmare several weeks ago. ;)

I think if your Buckeyes end up in the Rose Bowl, you should come on out to SoCal for the game - we'll take you to dinner. :goodvibes Of course, if they happen to beat USC in the Rose Bowl, all bets are off. :rotfl:

:lmao: If they would be there and happen to beat USC, I'll pay my way...no worries!!

I would love to go back to the Rose Bowl! Unfortunately, with my plans to take 2 weeks off next year for the cruise and WDW, I don't know that I can fit in a couple of more days to go. :sad1: I went to the RB last time we were there ('97 I believe). The whole week was a great experience!! I would love to meet you though!

Football is big here in Texas, but I am originally from Florida...a true Seminole at heart (FSU). :cheer2: Even though we have not had a good few years, I still hate to see them lose. After seeing them beat #2 Boston College last week, I had high hopes, but oh well. There's always next week.

Question for all of you cruise experts:

Lets say pretty soon they announce repo cruises for 2009.

Lets say I get on the phone the day they open up and book us a cabin.

When we cruise in 2008 (our cruise!), can the 10% plus $200 sbc be transferred to that cruise (2009 repo) while on board?

I hope this makes sense! I am confusing myself!!:scared1:

Wouldn't that actually be a different reservation? If so, then I would answer no.

And with the way the repo cruises sell out in hours, I don't think you'd have a chance to make a reservation when we cruise for the repo cruise.

Sorry!
Brandie

For our American soldiers who have served our country in the military, past and present....

Happy Veterans' Day!
Thank you for all you have done for us!!

If you could get through on the phones and transfer a ressie that has the discount and OBC the answer will be a resounding yes. However, there were folks who were on hold for hours with the 08 repos. It was a mess that day. I guess if you really want to do one of these cruises then you need to try to book it right away and know that if it is popular the price will soar and you might just end up with a discount.

I also have heard that the Magic will stay in Florida for the summer of 09. I know that many folks want that to happen. She will be gone for two summers in a row. I hope to take my grandkids on a early August cruise in 09. Their mom feels school out ranks vacation. I just don't get it but she is their mom. Lois
