:cheer2: I'm celebrating myself! I got post 3000! Didn't even notice until I was finished! :cheer2:

Good Morning All!

Tammie - Your Grandchildren are adorable! And congrats on 3000th post! We are a chatty group. :lmao:

Kimberly - Will the festival be on the food channel? I will watch it and see if you are on TV! You look like Tink - right?

With all this talk about the scalp massage, I might just have to sign Doug up for this! I think he would enjoy it. I'll just add this to my list of things to do when we get on the boat.

Time to get the kids up for school and make my morning Latte!

Have a great day everyone!

:lmao: I'm a brunette Tink though! I don't think it's planned to be filmed however.

Kimberly: Sounds like fun meeting the "cake guy" I think your cakes are adorbale and you COULD be a professional if you wanted to:thumbsup2

Tammie: Cute grandkids. You must be so proud:goodvibes

Erik: I miss your posts!!!! Finish up that conference allready;)

Chris: Have a FANTASTIC trip and then rush home and share all about it in your posts:)

So, this is entirely off topic but it came up last night again. I think it is so odd. My parents live in Mexico. Most times this is mentioned, people give me a surprised look and say something along the lines of "You mean New Mexico?" Uhh, no I mean MExico. This is generally followed by "Really? They live in OLD Mexico?" This doesn't offend me, but I do find it strange. If my parents lived in England (and I weren't here in New ENgland when mentioning it:lmao: ) would people assume I emant New England? Would they want to clarify by calling England OLD England??? Somehow I doubt it. What is the deal with Mexico then? Just my odd pondering for the day!

I am off now into the chill (Hey Kimberly, if we are going to have temps in the 30s I would LOVE it if you would send some snow our way:cutie: ) I am back into the normal Mommy routine of doctor's appointments, scout meetings, karate, etc. etc.:rolleyes1

We haven't had but a couple of snow flakes here in Columbus, and I haven't seen them yet, darn it!! I do understand that there will be snow to bring back from Cleveland this weekend, however. So while I'm up there, I'll blow to the east really hard to send it your way. :lmao: So get those mugs out and ensure you have hot chocolate supplies, complete with marshmallows!

Are there any updates regarding the Costa Maya stop? I know the cruise is not for a while, but I am thinking that the port won't be ready by Sept'08. If Costa Maya is cancelled, what is the most likely replacement port?

Just popping in to say hello :flower3:
Lionel and I have been busy for the past few days, celebrating three years of schmoopy marriage (which is what everyone tells us, that we're sickeningly in love, haha!). We had dinner at the Flying Fish, which was great!

Not much other news, except for the fact that I have taken on another project :scared1: but this one is pretty neat. It's 50,000 words by the end of November, which is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I'm hopeful for a best seller, but will just be happy if I can finish it. I'm currently at about 8700 words. With any luck, it will be 1ok before the night is over.

IF I can get off the DISboards, that is :rolleyes1
Who, me? Procrastinate?

Happy almost-Friday, everyone!

Okay Kimberly--blow really hard in that easterly direction:rotfl:

Erica--good to see you on the boards. The wirting sounds like a fun project:thumbsup2

Okay, so a local man (named Dwayne)chased down three teens who were trying to break into his car. He caught one and hog tied him (had been headed out to the stable and had a rope) while he called police. The caught kids fessed up quickly and turns out the three are responsible for a string of roberies in three local towns over the past month. This was on statewide news this morning. Later, I am driving through town (tiny town, no stoplights, one gas station) and the marquee in front of the gas station (which generally advertises the newwest food in its deli or some such) reads "Congrats Dwayne, Hogtie Champion" Marika and Rio were so baffled as to why I suddenly burst out laughing for no apparent reason:lmao: :lmao: Brandie, do you think these kids have your bowl?:rotfl2: For hte record, I do not recommend trying to apprehend crimnals on ones own (could be deadly) but I do think the public humilition is just what these kids need!

Long time no see, Michael! Don't be such a stranger!!

I suspect there won't be any updates on Costa Maya for several more months. I like your thinking..."what is the most likely replacement PORT". Personally I prefer to not have another day at sea or at CC since we already get 2 of each! What about Belize? I would think that's managable to sail a little more south.

Having never done the regular Western itenerary, I think Key West would be fun (and it should be easy for DCL to throw together excursions and the like there as they go there on a regular basis). Beliz would be very intersting, but I do not THINK there are any ports there that would work for a ship this size.

Congrats Erica and Lionel!! Hope you had a great celebration! :rolleyes1

Stacy, VERY cool and exciting to have such an active group!!! Sounds like you have a wonderful group joining you! Oh yea...of COURSE you do!! There are others on THIS cruise with you in December! :) I'm sure working through all these details is just making the anticipation of going even better!

Hadley...great story about the sign for the Hogtie Champion! Glad they caught these kids, too.

I've not been to Key West myself, so I would be thrilled with that! I know that Carival Glory has Belize on their itinerary for next year, so that's what gave me the idea. I know nothing more about that port, however. I do know people who have vacationed there, and they loved it.

How exciting, Erica! I'm sure with the way you write, you could definately have a best seller! Congrats to you and Lionel on your schmoopy marriage! :woohoo:

Good morning all! My cable was down this morning, so I couldn't check the boards before the kids got up.

Hadley: LOVE IT!! :lmao:

Erica: Congrats on 3 years! Here's to many more! Kudos on your new project! I'll buy it!

Stacy: I tried everything I could think of to get Doug to book your cruise in December while we were on the Wonder in October, but he just woudln't go for it. :sad2: Have a great time! It sounds like a lot of fun!

If we can't go to Costa Maya - I vote for Grand Cayman! I've heard great things about it and we'll be in the area. . .

Have a great Friday everyone!

I try check the boards once in a while, but I have been real busy lately. My managers actually expect me to do work while I am in the office :scared1: . I don't think they understand that it takes a lot of focus and effort to read through hundreds of trip reports. Not to mention all the research I have to do regarding shore excursions. I think I will have to sit down with them and explain the situation. They have to understand that I don't have time for their nonsense and I have more important matters that need my attention.

I really hope we go to another port and not just another sea day. I did not even consider another sea day as a possibilty and just assumed that we would to a different port. You know what happens when you assume. My guess is that we will end up going to Grand Cayman since it is already part of their normal itenerary.
