Hello Everyone........

I am a friend of RKandMJsmommy.......my family and I booked this cruise too and I look forward to talking to you and meeting you next year...
my name is Crissi and my husband is Dale...... we have 2 kids - Danielle who will be 10 and Erik who will be 3. Does anyone have any reccommendations on what excursions are best for the 3 year old?

Thanks for all your help!

Looking forward to meeting you all in 2008!

Wow, first post! Welcome Crissi. We are kidless, but I know many will have great ideas.:goodvibes

:wave2: Hey all. sorry I haven't posted in awhile...things have been crazy here with my brother and his fiancee moving to CA over Labor Day weekend and with summer coming to an end. I have been trying to catch up and read the thread and cruise board a few times a week. Welcome aboard to all of the new folks who have joined our cruise. I feel so lucky to get to cruise with such a wonderful bunch of folks. I should have more time to post next weekend once my brother is on his way.

Andrea I love the designs you have done.

I made another door sign for my mom and I a few weeks ago here it is:
DoorMagnet2copy.jpg

That is such a clever idea! Love it! Can we steal it???

(I know you meant 2008).

Hello everyone! I think all my stress and grumpiness has been slept away. Thankfully my luggage traveled WITH me on the ride home!! So allow me to offer thanks for listening to me dump on you this week!

Now I can focus on our mini vacation trip to North Carolina next weekend...although, it's driving me crazy that he is insistant that we not book our hotel room until after this weekend. :confused3 Refresher: "Hello. My name is Kimberly, and I'm an OCD vacation planner." (Not to mention it's a holiday weekend!!!) It's a trial of releasing my controllable nature. I will survive without having everything in place. I will!! :rotfl:

You're all making me feel like I need to get working on the creation of my door signs!! I have been planning out the "layout" of my door with magnets and accessories though. Just one reminder to all before you print off your final versions....use 2008 not 2007. ;)

:yay: Welcome, Crissi!!! How exciting to have you and your immediate family as well as your mom and sis come together on the cruise!!! Danielle will join the four other 10 yr-old DISer girls, and Erik will join the other little 3 yr old boy who also just joined our cruise as well as five 4 yr old buddies that he can play with. :jumping3:

Feel free to check out post 577 (link in my signature) to see if there's anything else you want to share with me for our Cast Roll Call List.

HI Everyone,
As of tomorrow we are in a new decade ONLY 399 days until our cruise.

It's never felt so good to be in another century!!! :cloud9:

Thanks for the recruitment of Crissi et al! I'm sure all your excitement helped entice them! Maybe they can help you and Steve by having all the kids get together so you can celebrate your 10th wedding anniversary. :rolleyes1

Enjoy this week with your brother and his awesome bride. I still can't believe how selfless she was when you told her about the surprise cruise. No doubt they'll be missed in person.

Where are you going to in NC??

Talk about OCD vacation planning. My husband prints out everything for me that I collect and stuffs it in a folder. I just realized that we have 4 folders going!
I love to plan vacations!:cool1:

Ahh...that's right. You're a Tar Heel! We'll be south of you in Fayetteville....assuming there's a room of course! :rotfl2: Needless to say, I DID check to see if there are rooms available today, and there are. Let's just hope that will remain true in a couple of days or that I convince him to decide this weekend!

Four folders?!! You go, girl!! :worship: I'm so proud!

Of course you checked! You are one of us:scared1:

Another Tar Heel here. You'll be near us when you're visiting Fayetteville - we're just a little south of Raleigh. Small world, itsn't it? ...........its a small world after all, its a small world after all, its a small small world.......

We just got back ourselves from vacationing at Oak Island, NC - very nice.

What part of NC are you in?
Aaahhh, the mountains of NC & TN. I went to school in Boone while my cousin was at ETSU. I made several trips through the mountains between the 2. If I could get a comparable job to what I have now & could convince DH, I'd move back to the Boone area in about 2 seconds.

I'm a self-confessed book addict. Hello, my name is Rhonda & I am obsessed w/reading fantasy books. I tend to get a bit anxious if I'm coming to the end of the book I'm currently reading w/o having another 'lined up' (DH will gladly confirm this). You can bet that on the cruise that I'll have one or two w/me. :rolleyes1

Even as a young child, I enjoyed reading books - I'd rather do that than just about anything else. One of my earliest 'big books' was 'Watership Down' by Richard Adams. Another early favorite was 'The Secret of Nimh' by Robert O'Brien.

My favorite authors are not those that would be considered 'classics' most likely - Jacqueline Carr, Anne McCaffery, Kate Forsyth, Tad Williams, Terry Goodkind, George R.R. Martin - just to name a few. I enjoy fantasy with strong female characters, but its certainly not an absolute requirement. I don't necessarily reread stuff I've read before ('cause then I know how things end), but I do have a hard time letting the books go to a new home after I've read them. Strange, I know........
I'm currently in the midst of Katharine Kerr's Deverry/Westlands series. There's a lot of books in her series so it should keep me occupied for a while.

Has anyone done the Dolphin Encounter before? I see there are 2 of them but my 3 yr old would only be able to do the one in Cozumel. My then 3 year old son and 10 year old daughter would LOVE IT. I did read that the water may be too deep for the 3 yr old.........

Any advice is appreciated ! :)

Thanks!

I think I'm just to anxious to get on the cruise:banana: It is almost only 1 year away :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I will be celebrating at WDW on 9/27 this year, but I will raise my glass to the cruise that night:yay: I have slowly started thinking about things for the cruise...I know even have tons of fabric to make a fish extender with;)

I haven't done it, but this is something we are considering for our trip as well.

I've never heard of Oak Island, so I had to look it up. That looks like a lovely place to get some beach time! Thanks for sharing!!

Kimberly have a great trip to NC:goodvibes

Hi everyone!
Just checking in. It's a working weekend for me so I've been a little quiet, but rest assured I am always lurking ;)

We are in Cary (no comment please!). I love the mountains also. I am trying to convince my husband that we NEED to live in the mountains in the summer and MickeyLand in the winter one of these days.:goodvibes

Cary, eh? Oh, it is so tempting to comment, but I won't. :) Seriously, it is a nice area.

I like your plan of mountains in summer & Mickey in winter.

Thank you for the restraint! Being a Yankee, it gets pretty old!

And what town are you from?

Ok, I'm taking notes to raid the bookstore next time... I don't recognize Jacqueline Carr, Katharine Kerr, Kate Forsyth, or George R.R. Martin. Thanks! :thumbsup2

I'm also one to buy my books and never pass them on to their next home. :)

*gotta go run errands* *wave*

Hey, Erica!! Sorry it's your weekend to work. :sad1:

How close are you to the "Geeks on a Budget" cruise? I'm thinking it's in October, but not 100% certain. Is the bring-aboard spirits list finalized yet? I know you and Lionnel have been experimenting and practicing! :rotfl:
