OK I'm home now and have measured. I'd recommend that the distance between the point of the "v" when hung and the dowel be approximately 6 inches (that's about what mine is) or more if you want it not obstruct your room number.

You are a GEM! Thank you!! I gotta get past graduations this weekend, then I'll be zip zipping through the FEs!

Thank you to my the two new additions to the lanyard squad. What a great group of people we have on this cruise:banana:

Kimberly--who is graduating and from what?

I like the Disney tie night idea, but it would require buying at least three Disney ties for our group. Rio has a pluto and a mickey tie, but they are VERY subtle (just the character embroidered on the base polo figure style) so I doubt anyone even notices that they are Disney (those who crusied with us, he wore them both, did any of you notice?). Erik, I may have to beg you to loan us a couple;)

Scoutsmom99-- I laughed so hard when I saw your post asking ERIK what the maximum fish extender width was. It was TOO perfect:rotfl2: Are you sure you weren't lurking on the repo thread a couple of months ago?

Deanna--you KEEP comming back over here--posting even (I imagine you lurk over here all the time;) ) Just book already and get it over with. Actually I have decided you are waiting to rebook on board in August. Am I right?

CONGRATULATIONS:) I have always wanted to go back for my masters but it hasn't been in the cards yet. I know it is lots of hard work. Good job. You totally deserve a cruise to celebrate.

Thank you and yes I can not believe how hard this is.....The only thing keeping my sanity right now is........DOUBLE DIPPIN with you all the week after Grad.

Well, I have two that I'm busy with this weekend. One is my manager's only child, her daughter, for whom I'm making and decorating a cake to feed 150 people. Not going out all fancy on this one because she didn't want anything too elaborate, but it will hopefully be decent. The plan is in my head....just need to execute it! (I am proud to have some really nice decorative cakes under my belt for just being a "let's do it for fun" kind of gal.) The other graduate is one of my friend's son, who is the oldest of 3. It's hard to believe you can still picture him in 2nd grade! She's admittedly not the cooking or entertainment queen, so I'm helping her with his party as I LOVE that kind of stuff. So think of me Friday and Saturday up to my knees in frosting!

Okay...so why would I do this for my manager? I just have to share, so feel free to fast forward to the next post if you want! Simply stated, she is SO awesome as a person, manager, and mentor. Just to tell you how thoughtful and grateful she is, she's had to work her project development team (we're in technology for a global bank) for like 14-18 hours for a couple of weeks...unfortunately an unavoidable evil. She doesn't personally believe that one should have to work that way, so she avoids it for her project teams whenever she can. She herself hasn't gone home this week (other than tonight) before 3:00 am or 4:00 am. Anywhoo, these poor guys are starting to get some flack at home from their spouses. She went out and bought GORGEOUS tropical floral arrangements for all of their spouses...I'm sure she put down $500. She just feels awful that their families have had to take up the slack for these guys not being at home. She herself has been neglecting her important life moment with her daughter, so it's the least I can do. She would help me out in a heartbeat as well.

Shel (Stargater), aren't we all going to be celebrating your Masters Degree as you step on board for our cruise? I seem to recall that fact from when I put you down for celebrations along with your daughter's adoption. Talk about :cloud9: !!

Did someone put you up to asking me that question?

No, seriously, I'm sure nobody did put you up to it...but it's an ironic question to ask me because I actually DO know the maximum width!!

:lmao: :lmao: that is too funny! I'm excited to see it on the cruise!

We all must be on the same wavelength

Congratulations! :cool1: I have looked into going back for a Masters, but with 2 little ones - I haven't had the nerve.

Well, it's official - I'm obsessed! It's the middle of the night and I can't sleep because I am so excited about Double Dipping! Bring on the Double Latte in the morning:coffee: !

I did find some great Disney fabric today that will be perfect for my FE! I forgot I bought it for our trip last November to WDW and never used it. One more thing off my list - Now I just have to come up with Disney ties and Pirate costumes. pirate:

Erik - You don't happen to know where I can find a Buzz Lightyear tie do you?

My Toy Story tie is red and has a continuing pattern of Buzz and Woody (Jason's "coordinating" tie is completely covered wiht the little green alien guys). I have seen Buzz ties on ebay from time to time. Honestly I don't want to give my secrets away to everyone...but most my ties were ebay finds or were homemade.

Rachel was the cruise director on the TransAtlantic repo....I enjoyed her immensely. We've sailed on the Wonder a number of times and I found the cruise director so forgettable I don't even remember her name with 100% certainty!! Rachel, however, was a lot more active and visible...and actually came to our dinner table one night and introduced herself and commented on our ties. I also thought it was fantastic that during Pirate's Night Rachel donned a pirate costume and got up onstage and danced with the cruise staff and characters during the deck party. I don't remember the cruise director on the Wonder ever doing anything fun like that....so I'm a fan of Rachel!

:
I'm looking in my Martha Stewart back issues right now (yes, I know I am sad :rotfl: ) and I found the famed hanging organizer pattern.....but it's about twice as big as I remember it being. But, it does actually look pretty simple. I might have to start shopping fabrics ;)

Sooo....you know..just think about making 2...you know...one for practice that will be slightly wonky...and um one that's much more put together... just like their owners! (ie wonky for me... put together for you and "collins")

*giggling* I'll um even help you shop for fabric in July...:cool1:

That is exactly what I am looking for!:woohoo: Thank's again!

My pleasure!! I'm glad I was so easily able to find what you were looking for!

And re: my tie secret....well it's hardly a secret. I sometimes wish I was the only buyer who knew about ebay b/c then I'd never lose auctions! :lmao: :lmao: Honestly a lot of my favorite Disney ties we have are very uncommon and I rarely see them on ebay anyway....and I tend away from the more generic or traditional looking Mickey ties that are very easy to find on Ebay----so I'm happy to share the ebay secret for those who might be in the market for those ties (although watch out if you end up in a bidding war against me for a unique or special tie!!!:thumbsup2 )

Besides, if I'm going to promote the idea of a "DISboards DIStie DISdinner" then I can hardly keep my fellow DISers from finding great ties.....I'll be in that picture and I'll want everyone to look as cool as us! :goodvibes :goodvibes

My Joann's (I was in there today....I am always in the market for satin-look Disney print fabric to make more ties out of ;) ) has two very fun cotton Nemo fabrics that would make great fish extenders!

I have to second Erik's comments about Rachael. Although this was our 4th cruise on the Magic it was the first time we have had Rachael as Cruise Director. Wow, she is so much more invloved and dedicated than hte person they had on our previous two cruises. We were particularly impressed htat she was standing out on the dock wishing everyone a good trip home as we left on the alst day. We left around 9:00 and were told she had been there since at least 6:30!
