I can't tell if we are saving money to pay for this year's cruise or saving money to pay off last year's cruise

After I pay for the cruise I am scheduled for in Dec 07, I'll bump up paying for this one, put I believe a tax refund next year will finish it off.
I have a big frog bank that we drop loose change in and I counted it the other day and made a payment of 100.00 on my Dec 07 cruise . So we are back in drop money in the frog mode.

My very first post --I have been researching this forever & am finally taking the plunge. I am booking this trip on Friday. Yippie!!!

This cruise will have 2 special events for us. I will be turning 40 (OMG) on the 28th & it will by our 10th anniversary on Oct.3rd. When I saw these dates for this cruise I knew this was the one! Extra cool, both days will be at Castaway Cay. I think a couples cabana massage for the 3rd will be a must.

At cruise time it will be:
Me 40
DH 39
DS 13
DS 9
DD 6

And my parents will be coming too.

I am SOOOO excited I can't stand it!!!

Very Newbie question what does the D in front of DH,DS,DD mean. I am thinking Disney but not sure.

Has anyone here booked thru AAA? I want to request adjoining rooms, can that be done?

Welcome aboard, cate! You have so much to celebrate! I heard that the D stands for Dear or Darling, like in Lady and the Tramp, they way Lady's people refer to each other. Anyone else know?

Dear, Darling, Disney, any of those.

And yes, you can certainly request adjoining rooms, but I think maybe it's connecting rooms that you want. Adjoining rooms are next to each other, connecting rooms have a door between the two.

I didn't use AAA, personally I haven't had good experiences with them in the past.

There are quite a few online travel agents specializing in Disney that people here on the forums tend to use. Dreams Unlimited is one of them, and a sponsor of the DIS. There's also All Seas, Mic dan, Small World, and several others.

It's funny people think I am crazy for booking this far in advance, but once I saw this post I realized I am not the only one. Thank God!

I would love to have something (like bracelets or hats) to tell us apart, but I KNOW I will never get my husband or kids into matching outfits. haha

I am worried that I will have researched this trip so much that I will be the Cruise Nazi with my family. I have to remember to relax, but it seems like there is so much to do. I don't want to miss anything.

Don't tell Disney but, DH & I are going on a Carnival Cruise, in March.. It was a Free cruise given by one of my Husband's suppliers.. Im sooo excited because we stop in Key West.. We are having Brunch with My Brother and His Wife!!! Havent seen them since the wedding Last year..

Don't worry about being a vacation nazi.....the reason we plan so far in advance is because there is soooooooo much to do! Since you can't possibly do it all, you have to pick the things that you want the most. At least that's how I justify it

My secret plan for planning for this trip involves waiting till erica picks out all the fun stuff and then just tagging along Actually both myself and her husband figure we can wait till she narrows down the choices and THEN we can jump on board with opinions.

Trying to reign in my excitement or else it's going to be a LONG wait till the trip starts!

Lordy, I can't wait that long to start planning!
I had told myself that I would try my best to wait until the end of the year before making any major decisions involving the cruise.....even THAT is going to be a stretch.

I find reading a trip report every week helps curb the anxiety. Can you tell I have a type A personality?

Hi everyone! We adults get so excited about planning a trip 18 months 3 weeks away - have to tell you how it's going with my DGS2. He loves to watch the WDW planning video and he says, "Dinneylan!!!" Tonight he crawled in my lap and showed me the brochure, made sound effects for the fireworks, then he said, "go to dinneylan, go on BIG ship, fly airpane!"

His parents told him about our cruise, and he is already talking about it every day - I think he is related to me!
