Just wanted to say thanks to everyone working on the Logo's. Everything's really looking great. I've been a little quiet on the boards but i am reading everything and really like what our logo's developed into

I am a truly evil person.

Robert Jordan died at the extremely too-young age of 58 of a rare blood disease. This is truly and horrible.

However, the thought that keeps coming to mind is the Star Wars quote, "It's as if a million voices cried out suddenly in fear and were silenced." The evil part is I keep giggling about all the people who were hooked on the Wheel of Time series... and will go unrequited, because that scam artist was never going to finish those books! I read the first book... all, what, 900 pages of it? And realized on the last 5 pages he wasn't actually finishing the book! Oh Nooooooo, I had to keep subscribing to give him money, on the vain hope that one day--ONE DAY!!!--he might condescend to finish a storyline! He was on Book TWELVE, people! He was NEVER going to finish his storylines!

To make this make sense to people who don't read his books... This would be as if JK Rowling keeled over between book 6 and 7, and you actually disliked Harry Potter hysteria.

To giggle at this makes you as evil as I am, by the way.

Ah HA! I knew someone had to understand me!!! DH was looking at me like I was crazy when I was posting and cackling away, but he's not a big reader of fantasy. Bladerunner and the sequels, or Japanese non-fiction, yes, but he doesn't remember half of the authors I read (unless it is the trash novels, strangely enough).

Erik the Logo looks awesome thanks to you and Drea for all of your hard work on it. I like both the green and the red so I'm a go with either color.

I really like the red background with the white writing. I like the map, the red X, the Mickey Head, the ship, the writing at the bottom. I just don't know if I like the Ice Cream cone idea. I know that double dip is the name of our thread, but I think the cruise is much more about going to Castaway Cay than it is about ice cream cones. I wish there was some symbol regarding going to CC twice.

Fair enough......I went with the ice cream thing because for as long as we've been having discussions about a logo, people have been suggesting an ice cream theme (I think going on the notion that "double dip" is ice cream shop jargon for two scoops of ice cream.....of course it could also mean someone who takes a bite off a chip and then sticks it back in the dip bowl...does anyone remember that Seinfeld episode? )

I'm certainly amenable to eliminating the ice cream cones if people don't like them....or if someone has a different idea or piece of artwork they can send to me.

Also...if we do keep the ice cream icons then I will work on adding a second scoop of ice cream to each, as well so that they are actually "double dipped" cones.

It sounds like lots of people are reacting very positively to the red background which is cool. Would anyone like to see it with a different background? Blue (baby, royal, navy)? Orange? Darker Green (hunter or emerald)? Purple? It was easy enough to change the background that I could certainly make it with different colors if people are interested in that....or if we continue to get such a positive reaction to the red background then maybe we'll stick right with that! We just need to keep collecting votes and get a concensus.

Like I said earlier, wow! Lots of folks now. Any idea of the total capacity of the ship? What percentage of the ship are we filling?
Of the folks/cabins that are sailing, do you know how many have expressed an interest in fish extenders? I want to participate w/the FE stuff, but don't want to have to take out an extra mortgage to do so. The total # participating will determine how much we can do w/the FE (hope that makes sense).
Can you refresh my memory how many 5 yr old girls there will be on the cruise? Having trouble keeping track......

The Magic and Wonder have 875 passenger staterooms, so the percentage isn't quite as glamourous than saying to date we have 116 cabins with our name on it!! It's still very cool, imo!

I'm extremely interested in the fish extender fun myself! At this point, only 23 staterooms are noted as having an interest in hanging their FE. No doubt we certainly will need to get a more comprehensive list as we get closer as I know people like me want to plan on an approximate number of goodies that I need to bring with me to fill YOUR fish extender! I highly expect that this number will increase greatly.

Currently, there are four 5 yr-old princesses that will join your daughter. Doug46 also has friends joining us with a 5 yr-old, however, I don't know if it's a prince or princess.

....I think a RED background (or red shirt then as the case would be) would be nice and help draw attention to and tie in with the red X which marks Castaway Cay.

Here's another vote for the red background! I really felt the logo seemed to be missing something as it looked really bland to me in its original state. The red background certainly helped!! It's much more striking!

Brandie's husband is working on a new one, however, which isn't ready for an unveiling. Yup.. we have a Flight out of NJ at 6:30 am Thursday.. for DCL Wonder..
But... now it looks like Florida is expected some Nasty weather for 48 hours or something.. Trying to look at weather things all over the internet..

Im wondering if DCL has ever left "delayed"

Ok, (big breath as I type it out all in one sitting LOL ) Kimberly has the stats along with awesome fish extenders (keep an eye out for her ebay sale), Brandie's DH does the website (under construction) We have quite a few Buckeye fans... that love making buckeye sweets (they looked yummy around page umm 60maybe) If you havent booked a room # yr there is alway #6080 filled with lots of Dis'ers I belive its the unofficial party nonsuite. Eric is heading the lanyards area along with doing the logo. Hadley and her DH just got parts in a play near home! Erica is trying out tasty new drink concoctions on her precruise (check her signature for her TR great read btw!) Speaking of great TR reads I believe FatherForce is on this cruise also and he too has a great report! Tiffany booked the last porthole room. lol. And me.. well im the OCVP (obsessive compolsive vacation planner) Past obsession logo's, (thanks to Eric I have moved on LOL) Current obsession magnets, Future obsession ties for the boys ... SEE thats how obsessed I am! I have them planned out on what to obsess over next

alright Im off to bed now. Got to get up early and hit the treadmil. I joined a group of friends/neighbors for our own biggest loser competition and in 4months we will have a pot of $800 up for grabs (it would have been $1000 if we would have done $25 a month each instead of $20 but apparently no one liked my idea of adding an extra $5 a month ) ANYHOW I keep looking at that and it will be our cruise money!!!! (positive thinking!) you know how many drink of the days that could go towards LOL
