Hi All
Haven't posted for awhile. Been caught up on Big Brother websites. Man I was obsessed this year. I don't really care who wins at this point, I am just glad that it's over. Now I can come back to DIS.

As far as drinks are concerned, my favorite all time drink is a Bay Breeze. It's vodka, cranberry juice and a little splash of pineapple juice. Yummy, plus I figure it's GOOD for me too since it's got juice in it right??

My DH and I are going to Palm Springs this coming weekend. Last minute trip with no kids (Yippie). I am going to try to book us a couples massage. I can't wait.

Good Morning All:)

Well, we are back to reality now. We had a good two weeks. The Michigan portion of our trip was work for David and it turned out to be very good timing. Nearly all the important people in the company were there and David turned it into kind of an extended interview trip. He was one of a small handfull of people who actually recived U.S. patents this year and as such was also presenting at the conference which was good for people to see. So, by the time we left for Florida that Friday our spirits were much lifted by him having a number of possbile jobs in the works. It may still be a few weeks/months before we really know what is going on, but all in all it looks like this may turn out to be a good thing after all:goodvibes And we WILL be on this cruise no matter where we are living by next Spetember:love:

WDW was very good. The BEST part was being with Erik and Jason for the first few days. They are such fun people--Jason even talked a bit more than he has around us previously (I am sure this will come as agreta surprise to everyone--Erik is quite outgoing, but Jason is much quieter--I know you cannot tell that form their posts/lack of posts:rotfl: ). They took us two places we had never been before--Blizzard Beach and Disney Quest. Blizzard Beach ended up being both kids' favourite part of the trip. Did I mention that it was HOT and HUMID and got more and more so throughout the week?
There were two things we did not like on this trip. One was that they must be cutting cleaning staff dramartically becuase the restrooms were almost never clean. Yuck. :scared: SO not like WDW. The other is that like Erik and Jason our one big issue was with transportation. We used to be big fans of the WDW busses but this trip was terrible. We endured many, many long waits and ended up taking a taxi on the last night rather than waste even more hours. The worst was one evening leaving Blizzard Beach at park close. One would think at park close many busses would be comming on through. And they were for the other resorts (at least three per resort). Pop Century did not have one single bus go by for 55 minutes. Finally at that point the coordiantor (who we and others had been asking what was going on for a while) flagged down a nearly empty Old Key West bus and put us on it. As if that weren't bad enough, someone had been sick in the Pop bus stop area prior to our arrival and it stank something awful. We were not happy campers then:scared1:
Other than those two issues the trip was great. We really had fun with Erik and Jason and also with my in-laws later on. We had plenty of yummy food (I really hope they see the light and do not change the dining plan). My favourite is still the Garden Grill. We enjoyed the new attractions (Nemo show, Nemo clamshells and Monsters Inc. Laugh floor) but did not really LOVE any of them. We also did the one hour Segway tour with my father in law. We totally lucked out and were the only ones on our tour (there were 15 people before us and 12 after us, I have no idea why ours did not sell) and that was FUN:woohoo: This was our first trip with the plus features and we used htem heavily. We started with 6 features but were given three more as a result of the bus fiasco at Blizzard Beach and used all but one. Now that we haev been so often, and the kids are old enough to handle the water parks well it was really fun to add the water parks and Disney Quest and Pleasure Island into the WDW mix.

Okay, enough with the mini TR. Here are some random thoughts about the many pages of reading I had to do to catch up last night:rotfl:

WELCOME to all of the new cruisers. We keep growing and growing.:cool1:

Logo: I am agreeing with others that I like the Mickey Ears shaped map logo. I would love it if both the ice cream and ship could be made to look more hand drawn and less cartoony-computer-clip-art like (am I making any sense?). Go Drea and Erik:woohoo: --I am so glad someone here has the skills and initiative to get this done.

Face Plants: Glad to hear both Fiona and Magicfor2 are recovered from their falls. Ouch:sick:

Website: Brandie tell your hubbie thanks for working on that. It is nice to have a quick easy reference.:thumbsup2

Deanna (merging into Erik): Welcome home. How was the return????? And ARE you booking (I'll crochet in the club with you if you'll book just to hang out with you more). Rio says he and Erik are too busy dancing/partying and winning all the games to be reading or drinking or anything boring like that anyway:rotfl2: Marika says they are the ice cream club as both always seem to be drawn toward scoops. And lets not forget EUCHRE! Who are our other Euchre players on this sailing?

That's all for now folks:rolleyes:

MAGICFOR2: Owwwweee! Are you feeling better today? Fiona doesn't have visible bruising, so I guess we're in the clear.

Hadley: *hug* Good to hear from you! I'm very glad the trip went well! :thumbsup2 Stinks ('scuse the pun) about the bathrooms and busses.

Uncle Bud: What in the WORLD are you standing next to? Is that skull made from bread? What are the eyes made from?

DH is still puzzling over why the website software is being such a pain. As soon as he makes it behave (or decides to start over again), I'll let everyone know. *whispering* I think he's still scared of you guys! :rotfl: You, like, talk and stuff!!! :rotfl: He's allergic to pre-planning, I think! I think he and Jason will hang out, Erik. :rotfl2: He really is a wonderful leader (at work :rotfl2: ), but around me, he'd much prefer to be told where and when... and then he'll figure out the how! It's a running joke I can't remember directions. When we took my mom to WDW in Oct 2006, we each had a jurisdiction; Mom had when, I had where, and Huber had the map. :thumbsup2

I had a dream last night about cruising. I was on a ship and had a special price for a DCL Med oceanview cruise, but I had to get off the ship to call and get it. I wasn't supposed to be on the boat, so I was fighting the Carnival (???) lines to get off the boat and use my cellphone on land. It was weird. One of those dreams you wake up and try to figure out what you ate last night that could have triggered THAT dream kind of moments. :rotfl:

Anyone heard any word on if DCL is going to make up its mind ahead of our cruise about going to Costa Maya?

*wave*

It was the Pirate night food buffet. We didn't eat but we were able to take pictures of the tables set up before the party. I think the skull and eyes were plastic. I saw chile and turkey legs....

Magicfor2:

My husband was at the Ducks game on Saturday too. He is obsessed with the Ducks and the Green Bay Packers :scared: . During Football season I put up a really cute sign that says "We interrupt this marriage for football season" ;) .

I was wondering is there is room for a few more on this thread. We just booked for 9/27/08. There is myself and my partner of 20 years. My sister and her twins (DD10) and our niece (DD 12) are also booked. I will see if I can get her to post. This will be our 6th cruise and my sister's 2nd. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Wow! Sounds like you had a great trip, except for the buses! I say FIRE THE BUSES :lmao: We will rent a car next trip - will probably then eat offsite, too - Disney are you reading????

The patent sounds exciting! Congrats!

I am doing much better today, thanks for asking.

Glad Fiona is not bruised, and doing better! I don't have any bruises, either except one on my shin.

Your dream sounds like one of mine! Too much DIS??? Okay, never!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

What? Are they changing our itinerary?????:confused3

Hey! My DH has season tickets in a really good section that he shares with my DS! A good friend of his has two right behind him - they are also obsessed! He likes the Seahawks, but isn't a superfan! Next time, I'll do like my DGS says, "hang on to the rail!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: DH says I'm lucky I wasn't on the DuckVision screen!

As long as DCL says there's room for you on the ship, there's room for you here!!! Welcome Aboard! How fun that you can bring your sis and the kids! :cheer2:

Checking in for this cruise as well - as hubby above mentioned just got back from the 7 night western which was fantastic. Had an amazing day at Castaway so this double dip was really intriguing to us. We are on deck 2 with a ocean view. Rebooking at least helped a little with the back to reality pain we are feeling :surfweb:

:dance3: Welcome! I missed your post yesterday! Which ports did you visit? Any chance you'll be posting on the DCL pic of the day? :surfweb:

Thanks for the Welcome. I just got unpacked and of course some of the items just went from the suitcase to the disney drawer in the file cabinet. In fact I have three drawers to store items I pick up through out the year just for my cruises. I am looking forward to all the planning which lies ahead. Is anyone else planning on flying in on Friday and staying at the Hyatt that night? 375 day til Vacation.

That Disney drawer is a great idea! :thumbsup2 That would definitely annoy the hubby less than the suitcases staying packed... :rotfl: and on the floor of our bedroom... *hrmm* Maybe I should put those away at some point... Nah, that's crazy talk! :rotfl:

I know it seems like all my posts say this, but.....

Just posting quickly to say hi, been busy working, yada yada yada. But I'm keeping up with things as able! Welcome to the new crews that have joined us! :goodvibes

Maybe one day soon, I will have some spare time. It might not be until September 2008 though :rolleyes1

I am a truly evil person.

Robert Jordan died at the extremely too-young age of 58 of a rare blood disease. This is truly :sad1: and horrible.

However, the thought that keeps coming to mind is the Star Wars quote, "It's as if a million voices cried out suddenly in fear and were silenced." The evil part is I keep giggling about all the people who were hooked on the Wheel of Time series... and will go unrequited, because that scam artist was never going to finish those books! :rotfl: I read the first book... all, what, 900 pages of it? And realized on the last 5 pages he wasn't actually finishing the book! Oh Nooooooo, I had to keep subscribing to give him money, on the vain hope that one day--ONE DAY!!!--he might condescend to finish a storyline! He was on Book TWELVE, people! He was NEVER going to finish his storylines!

To make this make sense to people who don't read his books... This would be as if JK Rowling keeled over between book 6 and 7, and you actually disliked Harry Potter hysteria.

To giggle at this makes you as evil as I am, by the way.

Thanks! We visited Key West (which was not what I expected), Grand Cayman - very clear water, and Cozumel - which we loved and had so much fun on! We just got one of those savy shopper books and used it like a scavenger hunt going from store to store getting free stuff! :woohoo:

Ok - DCL pic of the day - sorry I guess I am a newbie - not sure what that one is? :confused3

I have to say - the Castaway Caye stop this time was our best ever - we were in the water almost all day - it was beautiful.....perfect water temp, nice outside, just when it got too hot here came this big black cloud! Oh and Cookie's BBQ - YUMMMMMMMM:thumbsup2

Here's the thread: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=842460

Whenever we get lonely for "our" ship, we can live vicariously through the pics others have shared on this thread!

Where did you get the shopping books? Sounds like fun! I think we will be on "stroller brigade" that day - might be a good diversion!

hi: just booked today for me and my dd8(9 on the trip) very excited did a 4 night in may and just not long enough.
