Heya, does anyone here have room 7567, 7565, or 7563? I have room 7541 for my mother and kiddo, and was wondering if I could trade rooms?

Thanks in advance!
Brandie

Brandie, I looked at the handy dandy Cast Roll Call List, and I don't see that anyone has those rooms; however, there are 39 of 95 cabins that I do not have assigned room numbers for, so perhaps someone will PM you with news you are hoping for. pixiedust:

Thank you for checking! I'm trading a room near the mid-ship elevator to try and get one across the hall from our room. No problem if I'm not able to trade, but I thought it might be nice to try.

Thanks again!
Brandie

Are you going to come out and play? We haven't heard from ya for awhile...I hope all is good!

Here I am! I have been reading, but have nothing interesting to post. Thanks for making me feel wanted though:flower3:

Tammie--CONGRTUALTIONS on your newest addition to the family:)

Lisa--What a cool future Sis in law you are getting:thumbsup2 I'm glad you still get to cruise with us (yep, that's me totally selfish and thinking of what will make my crusie the best!)

The kids and I went to see Hairspray yesterday. What a very fun little movie (BOTH kids liked it better than Ratatoullie!). Absolutely worth a trip to the theatre if you enjoy musicals.

Dave and Rio are off at a performance tonight and Marika and I are moving things out of her room bit by bit to get it ready for Selina tomorrow. I cannot remember if I have posted about Selina yet. She is the just turned 18 year old German girl who is comming for 2 weeks. We have been emailing for a while and are so excited to finally meet her (she arrives tomorrow evening). She is the 7th cultural exchange student we have hosted. These are all kids who have parents or grandparents who also work for the company DH does. The company pays their airfare, gives them spending $$ gives us $200 for food and even reimburses us for any admissions to musuems or whatnot that we take the teens to. It is nearly always a lot of fun (and SO much easier than D was;) ). One odd thing this year is that Rio will be going to summer camp for the second week Selina is here. I think it will be very good for me to have Selina to keep me distracted and busy as leaving my little guy somewhere for a week is freaking me out (Rio, on the other hand, cannot wait and wanted to go for two weeks--I told him he had to wait until next year for that--worki' our way up). Summer camp was one of the highlights of my childhood so I get where he is comming from--but it is very hard (and pricey:scared1: ) on the Mommy end of this.

We're (hopefully) going to see Hairspray on Sunday night with one of my dearest friends, who is visiting from New York. Was John Travolta as great as I hope he will be?

We've seen more movies in the last 2 weeks than we have in many months.....Harry Potter, Knocked Up, and Ratatouille! And now, Hairpsray!
Hopefully.

Does anyone have plans yet for this cruise? Palo, Excursions, Spa treatment, or any special plans they want to do?

Oh and we have 2 rooms on reserve right now... but we will need to book another room for Friends.. :cool1: so we will be adding 2 adults and 3 small children.. :thumbsup2

Dave and I had hoped to get the romance package on the Transatlantic in May. Our in-laws were along and had a room which slept four, so we figured we could send the kids over for a night and have our rose petals and champagne breakfast and what not then. But, it wasn't offered. At the time we were told they were not offering on the Med. cruises because they are longer and the package includes the Rainforest unlimited pass. SO, we are hoping to do it this cruise (in-laws still along and still with a cabin which can sleep four), BUT as of now they still are not showing it as available for 2008 at all. I am keepign my fingers crossed. Other than that we do not really have any plans. We may try to go to Tulum (Cozumel) as we did Kohunlich last year on this itenarary and did the Guimar pyramids in May and it is fun to compare. But, we haven't decided of we feel like being that ambitious yet.

Excellent! I've added them to the list!! That makes 2 families you've recruited, Stacy!! If you want to share the kids ages and/or cabin, feel free to reach out to me, and I'll revise the spreadsheet.

I've updated Post 577 with new stats!! (link in my signature) We've had a few additions in the past 2 weeks which has put us on the cusp of 300!!! :woohoo: Which family lurking out there trying to decide to hop on board is going to put us over the milestone? :)

I'm interested to hear what people are thinking about as well. The planner in me has some stuff in mind and mom seems to be on board with most of it. My sister is still in the undecided column, but I hope we can convince her to come.

Here is what I was thinking:

Castaway Cay: Parasailing
Costa Maya: Kohunlich (National Geographic has a great article about the Mayan's in this months issue.)
Cozumel: Royal Dolphin Swim (not sure about doing this or doing Discovery Cove on a future trip)
Castaway Cay: Stingray Adventure

On the ship we would like to indulge in a spa treatment, do high tea, and also Palo's for brunch and dinner.

I don't want to be too scheduled as this is our first cruise of any kind, but for those of you who have been before do you typically do something in each port? Also if anyone has any experiences to share I would love to hear about them. I really enjoyed Hadley's Kohunlich review.

I'm so happy we are getting to cruise with all of you wonderful folks! I can hardly wait to meet you guys:goodvibes Are a lot of people planning on WDW either before or after the cruise? I'm thinking we will be there Monday-Friday and then driving to port on Saturday morning.

Funny that everyone is recruiting. My DS planned this trip for a family trip for our immediate family, and now my DSIL has invited her family along - should be booking soon, and my DSIS wants to invite her family too - that will be 10 more peeps! 11 if their college aged son comes. We can get a huge table for dinner, but I don't think we could coordinate excursions, etc. We should just meet up at dinner and share our experiences!

Just a quick post - have to show off my new DGD, Londynn Eve! Have a great weekend everyone!

Londynn is most definitely a sweetie Tammie! Thanks for sharing her photo with us. I love babies! :goodvibes

Uh Oh.. Umm.. I dont mean to put a Damper on your plans But...... ALL Parasailing has been discontinued on Castaway Cay.. Last I heard anyway... You may want to check into it and Call Disney themselves to see what they say but I remember reading a whole article about it... :guilty:

The DCL website still lists parasailing as an option for excursions....I hope they don't really eliminated it becasue Jason and I were considering doing it one of the days at the Cay b/c we enjoyed it so much the last time we did it.

And hello to everyone, btw....I know that I haven't been posting much recently which is not like me (but I have been lurking and reading so as not to fall too far behind)...but I've been very busy...nothing is wrong and things are actually going remarkably well here...just very very busy :)

I'll get my head above water soon and start posting more, I promise!

So far I'm thinking:

Castaway Cay - Stingray Adventure
Costa Maya - Chacchoben or Kohunlich, not sure which yet
Cozumel - Paradise Beach and maybe Atlantis Submarine
Castaway Cay - The Wild Side for DS

onboard I want to do Palo brunch for sure, and also Palo dinner if I can talk DH into joining me on the cruise -- he did budge enough to allow me to add him to the reservation for now, but he's reserving the right to take himself off again before final payment if he decides not to go, LOL, at least it's a step in the right direction! I'm making sure to turn on the Travel Channel tomorrow night, they're showing the DCL episode. We caught the last half of it the last time it was on, and after seeing it DH said I could add him on for now, while he considers it. I figure I need to get him to watch the entire show this time! ;)

Hello all!
I am still here and alive as well, just busy busy BUSY. Such is life. This is why I need a cruise! :rotfl:

After Sarah left, we had another friend stay with us for a few days and then ANOTHER came into town for a day. And, I worked last weekend. I have the day off today. Can you say Heaven? :cloud9: It's so quiet and calm here, and I have no one to entertain but myself and the dog. And lets face it - if the dog can find a spot in the sunshine, he's good for a few hours.

Plans! Most of ours are pretty loose at this point, but I do know I want to try the spa villas, go to some of the Mayan ruins, hang out on a Mexican beach, and have alot of Konk Coolers! :thumbsup2

I'm working on my trippie within a pre-trippie from when Sarah was here, so if anyone wants to check it out the link is in my signature!

Happy Monday!

If your hubby is a geek or a number cruncher, show him the spreadsheet of cruisers! It worked for my DH; he was so impressed by the number of people signed up he started asking questions and looking at excursions. :thumbsup2

Hello all. Erik and Erica, I am glad to know that I am not the only one who is managing to read but only posting a little as a busy reality is getting in the way of the DIS.

Sound of Music came to a close yesterday. After the matinee Dave and Rio stuck around for strike. Marika and I would have come to help as well but we were off at a Manchester Fishercats baseball game with Selina (our German visitor). Selina asked to see a game (such the quintessential American tradition) and it was a good day to go as Rio would not have to be with us (he dislikes baseball more than the rest of us which is really saying something). I am sure many of you love baseball and I am thrilled for you, but I have to say for me there are few more mind numbingly boring ways to spend an afternoon. And, she wanted to stay through the ENTIRE game (our other foriegn visitors have all gotten bored midway through and the longest I have ever had to stay was the seventh inning strech). I kept thinking how much more fun it would be to be tearing apart the set. We beat DAve adn RIo home by about 20 minutes and they were quickly followed by 7 other members of the cast and crew for an impromptu partial cas tparty (total cast and crew were almost 80!). At least I had the fun of enjoying their company for the evening!
It is raining today so most of the great things to do around here are out of the question. We are meeting some friends at a bowling alley this afternoon (orginal plans were the beach!).
I hope you are all in for a nice week.
Hadley
