Yeah....I'm glad we have a lot of lead time! Jason and I thought our magnets from this past cruise were pretty fun and fancy (and Chris and Rob's magnets were amazing, too!).....but you guys are putting us to shame!! :rotfl:

Do I smell a contest coming on???? :cheer2: count me in....Photoshop here I come.

Hello All,
I am one of those crazy rebookers from the transatlantic (I think we may have started the trend towards this perticular sailing but I cannot say for certain). We did this itenerary last September and it was AWESOME. ANd, the DIS group from the transatlantic crossing was so fabulous. Absolutely the best part of the best cruise ever. I have only read the last 8 pages of this thread and I have been crying as I read missing my friends.

So, I should intorduce myself to all of my new soon to be friends. I'm Hadley (34), DH is Dave (34) kids are Marika (she'll be 11 on the cruise) and Rio (he'll be 9). Marsha (I think?) I'll try to send you all the info for the website and a photo soon. It has been carzy since we got home form Barcelona Monday night and I haven't even looked ta our photos from that yet. There must be something in there we can use for the website photo. We are in 5013 (sideways cat. 11) so not up there on deck 6 with so many of you:sad2: My in-laws (Hank and Jan) will also be onbaord.

As has already been alluded to, we are very fond of the games (and partying in Rockin' Bar D). Pictionary is way up high on our list of FUN (Hoagiepie's list also--though wait until you see the photo of the drawing of a kangaroo that she made:rotfl2: ) I have to say many of my all time favourite people are the ones who rebooked (come on Deanna join in!). :grouphug: I made some fantastic friends on that cruise so I know already this will be great.

Okay, sorry for going on about the last cruise. I am happy to be joining all of you soon and look forward to getting to know you all via the DIS over the next 16 months.

OH THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE, HADLEY!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
I was about to send out a search party for you!! We've missed you terribly!

:flower3: Thanks. So many of you said nice things about me on this thread I should be typing in red I am blushing so much. Thank you all.

I'm trying not to sound like we are a click form the last cruise or something. I assure everyone, we are excited to chat together again because we miss each other, but I htink I speak (type?) for all the tranatlatic rebookers when I say we want to get to know ALL of you. Oh, and I htink I saw mention of someone satrting a kids' group. THAT would be awesome. Marika really likes getting to know people ahead of time.

The website has the list of cruisers and info that I rec'd from Buckeye Gal. I have two pics on of course one is me LOL and Pal Mick and Minn (who will be joining me on the cruise <G>).

I will work on the Dis Meets and Activities page at some point.

Wow you're fast, Marsha!! Way cool....site looks great......jason and I are late dining by the way and I'll send a picture once I find a favorite from this past cruise, too!

/
thanks.

if you send a picture please also provide your DIS user name along with your family name, or other name you want me to put on site.

Since the cruise is still a year away I am sure more will be added, so I will start a second page of cruiser's. We may end up having 4 or 5 pages of cruisers by the time we sail <G> Which of course will be fantastic. The more Diser's the merrier.

I know this is not too fancy...just having fun with photoshop.:lmao:

Welcome Hadley and crew! pirate: This ship is really starting to rock! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I love all of the creative designs!

Erica - I loved your "kick of the non-disers" idea :rotfl2: The group I sailed with in Dec 2005 sailed again last year on a double dip Western - they had grown to about 200 people, if I remember right. They all met at Parrot Cay for lunch during boarding - they had matching green T-shirts and took over the restaurant - the CMs thought they were all traveling together!

Well, gotta get some sleep - busy weekend coming up - getting ready for the World! 3 days!!! :woohoo:

I just checked out the website. It looks fabulous. Clearly this is shaping up to be a great group of people (and think how long we have to get to know each other--that is the one good thing about having to wait forever for the cruise:rotfl: )

I concurr with tig82174...the more logos the better! I have also drooled over Pat Design's work over the past 3 weeks. She is AWESOME!

I really like the graphic that Marsha has put up on the site's main page...I've seen it before and think it's terribly cute. One thought I have about the whole idea is that if we used that one as our logo, really isn't OUR cruise's logo....it's not a unique identifier for our cruise like I've seen for the repo cruises, for example. We could use the Cataway Cay logo on the home page on another page as well.

:confused3 Just my two cents!

Stargater, that logo's great!!! Excellent work! :thumbsup2
Photoshop gives me a serious headache. I worked on mine a while yesterday afternoon but my layers don't want to layer, and my screen and blur is just not right. I want to just wave a magic wand and be done with it!:rolleyes1 (Ironically enough for those who don't know, photoshop does have a 'magic wand' but it doesn't do any magic for me!!!! :wizard:

pixiedust: :welcome: pixiedust: to Hadley & family!
Marsha the site is awesome (i see me! i see me!)! I like being able to check out where everyone is....no one has booked next to us yet! :rotfl2: I'm so afraid another DISer will be next to us......We're those people.....you know....the NOISY ones....:o

Oh and btw, this was mentioned earlier:
We have 71 cabins of our own family and extended family/friends' cabin accounted for
More than 215 people
Is it common to have so many Diser's on a cruise? I mean, 71 cabins, that's a lot.
According to the DIS unplugged podcast 5/29, those numbers are almost exactly the DIS population of the 1st MED cruise (not the TA which so many of our new friends are from.... the 1st one going on there right now...the one w/Joey Fatone ) So you have to figure if we have already met their numbers and we are still appx. a year and 1/2 out, we are going to well surpass that percentage of DISon BOARD. Also of note, they actually mentioned the DIS , the CM running one of the parties yelled out"howmany of you are first time cruisers? how many of you are repeat cruisers? how many of you are from the DIS?" and the place went nuts. Accd'g to Tracy from DU,who is onboard, it is the biggest DIS amount she has ever seen....if that's the case, she better hop onboard our cruise!!!
:woohoo:

I make very simple designs for iron on tshirts, to make name badges, business cards, etc....

here are some of what I have done that we are using for other cruises I am going on:

For tshirt: click on link to see graphic

Magical Memory Tour of 07

Name badge/card to fit into a lanyard card holder, or name badge you can clip or pin somewhere etc...

DIS%20Mag%20Mem%20card3.jpg

DIS%20Mag%20Mem%20card2.jpg

Fit lanyards well for clip on name badge:

Same but with color background

this is for tshirt and door sign this june cruise:

Copy%20of%20June%20cruise%20logo.jpg

Again I ONLY can do very simple designs and I use word document drawing features, clip art etc... I know there are very talented ppl to create elaborate designs which I love and have used them for like door signs.

I have found though to iron on transfer simple designs seem to do better at least for me on my tshirts.

Cool...the other thing you can do, that someone did for the TransAtlantic repo, is use the site CafePress.com

At that site you can upload any jpg image (created using photoshop, powerpoint, etc.) and then order it printed on things like shirts, bags, mugs, magnets, etc. etc. You can even do that and create an "online store" where otheres can go and buy the things. That's what we did for the recent repo and that way a number of us were able to all have the same tshirts....it was very very cool. I have used CafePress for smaller projects since then and it's pretty easy and the items are good quality that you get. If getting Tshirts is something this thread wanted to do....I would definitely be willing to talk to the guy from the repo who organized that to see how you go about setting up a store...then we'd just have to create the image we wanted on the shirts and other items and upload them to that site. Another thing we did that Jason and I personally love was lanyards....the same guy who designed our tshirts was able to find a company that printed up custom lanyards (for your nametag, key to the world card, etc.)....they were handy and awesome. With so many of us on this cruise and so much time to plan....that might be something else to look into. On the repo a small group of us all chipped in like $25 or $30 a piece and were able to buy enough neck lanyards to give them to all the DISers on roll-call list.

The good thing about having so much lead time going into the cruise is lots of time to plan lots of great and amazing things!!

thanks but like i said i only do very simple designs using word. that way also means I can easily change anything at anytime LOL.

I do my own iron on tshirts, using iron on transfers for dark colors, and then iron design on whatever tshirt i have or want.

For my first DCL i only did a small iron on over the shoulder/chest on a polo top. For this June cruise I found lime green tshirts (bought several LOL) and using the design i posted above. I also made DIS basic iron ons for when visiting the parks.

Last cruise I made DIS/DCL buttons but for June I have made name badges you clip on. I like these better so will do the same for the Sept 07 cruise. Who knows by Sept 08 what i will be using or doing LOL.

I shared the design for June and Sept 07 so ppl that want to use them can. But its only if ppl want to.

Our Sept 07 cruise i know many are using the name badge one, and some are doing tshirts. or making design smaller to put over shoulder of a shirt/top or even on the sleeve of a shirt.

Sept 07 the lobby/terminal is going to be full of ppl wearing lime green shirts and DIS name badges.

I think its fun for as many of us Disers as possible to show up wearing lime green and the terminal be filled with lime green. I know on at least one cruise the Cruise director mentioned the DIS ppl at the sailaway party.

ok enough of me rambling. We have a year to come up with a logo, or other things we want to make and do.

oooo i have like 20 days before i go on my 3 night Wonder cruise WOO HOO!!!! Minnie is packed, my swimwear and other items are packed. Just need to pack my clothes. Ok so I am a little obsessed in organization, preparing etc.... LOL But I am sure to change luggage several times, repack severel times before we leave in June LOL. And to think this is only a 3 night cruise!!!!! Yet my luggage is about what I took on a 7 night one LOL.

have a good weekend all. I will try working on the website more this weekend.

Yeah we tried using the iron-on transfers before, too (I use them often for my job to make Tshirts that don't have to last very long)....but I find that the transfers (at least the ones they sell in JoAnn's and similar craft stores here in Rochester) usually crack and peel and flake after one or two washes plus the transfers themselves tighten the fabric and can be very warm against your skin in hot weather. (We made TShirts with them for my job 2 years ago and the image was a full sheet size...8.5 x 11...and then we wore them to a picnic all day in the summer sun and by the end of the day we were all 5 lbs. lighter from sweating so much! :rotfl: ). If you do create an image that everyone likes and we want to use cafepress to make shirts (they actually sell lime green Tshirts on that site, too, that you can get your images printed on)....I would be happy to convert word files into photo files that can be easily uploaded....plus Jason can do things like that, too. He is a software engineer by trade so he's often very handy with computer things!

Marsha--I am so jealous that you get to cruise soon. Even with 14 days I still want more (they could have turned the ship around and sailed right back for antoher 14 days and I would have been happy).

We've had the same issues with iron ons that Erik mentions (we use them often to make party favour t-shirts; it makes it easier to keep up with a group of kids at the bowling alley, etc. if they all match). We did not order them, but the cafe press Ts did look nice. Personally I would like lime green and be more inclined to order them than white ones.

I LOVED the custom lanyards from our last cruise. I would absolutely be on the lanyard team for this one if people would like that. I would even be willing to head up the ordering, etc. (i'd have to get with Ken to see where he gets them), but I can't make custom name badges like we had as I do not own a printer (we have decided we are cursed and no printer will ever last more than a month for us). I can print a bit here and there at the office, but not that much. I could design them and send them over to someone else to print though.
