Did you just write it on the intake sheet, or tell them? I hate this. When the time is almost over- it makes me all tense. I mentioned it to the people at the spa at SSR at Disney- saying that I liked that they didn't do that, and the manager said it's not very good practice to do that at a spa.

How was the wrap? Is there any type of massage element to it? I really like the stone massage, but want to try a wrap. I guess I'll have to do two treatments, one to make up for dh who won't be there.

As for Nascar - I have to say I have NEVER been a fan but this year I actually watched the D-500 (instead of mocking it) and I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Glad you enjoyed the 500 this time. Is that the only race you've actually watched this season? I must admit I wasn't as big of a fan until we went to a Busch race (now called the Nationwide series) at Lowe's in Charlotte a few years ago. Nothing like the sound & feel of 43 stockcars flying by you at such incredible speeds! The sound just rumbles through your body.

I had a fun day today - although it all involved work. We had a huge order of all baby merchandise show up today - so that was a blast unpacking it all with the girls. I love baby things! We actually got these onesies in that have little satin angel wings on the back and on the front it says either "grandma's angel" or "daddy's angel" or "mommy's angel". OMG, so cute. There's even one set that has a little onesie that says "miracle" on the front and has satin wings on the back and little wings on the little baby booties by the heel.

What type of store do you have? It sounds like a lot of fun. I make little girly (boutique style) bows, headbands & stuff.

I doubt there would be a ticker for racing updates during a football game. Even so, it wouldn't be the same as actually watching it live - especially when the 'big one' (wreck) happens. However, I'm not usually watching football during a race, so I may be completely wrong. Been known to happen.......

Ok, sounds like I may be competing w/all y'all football fans on Sunday afternoon if the race isn't broadcast in our rooms. I wouldn't sit & watch the entire thing, but it would be nice to catch some of it live.

So sorry to hear about your neighbor's daughter, Heather. Erica is so right - things can change in an instant. There's definitely no guarantee for tomorrow.

What a cool thing to do for your son! I know he had an absolute blast!

I'm planning on taking Emmie tomorrow night or Saturday night to a speciality horse show in Raleigh. She knows nothing about it - will be a complete surprise. The girl is horse-crazy. I think the highlight for her at the fireworks display we went to this year was getting to ride the ponies that were there. Of course, I really like horses too so there's no arm-twisting involved for me to take her. DH on the other hand.............

Have a great time at the horse show. I hope you daughter enjoys her surprise. I have discovered the best thing always to do is not tell them, then it is a surprise and never a disappointment if something should happen. Not to mention, the million is it time yet questions. Have a blast.

Crissi - Our prayers are with you, hope he recovers quickly. We just lost our mother (83) last month, which is way too early and my dad (92) last year.

As for the games, I would like to see Football, but my team will not be on, so I vote for NASCAR.

Videoman, I am with you on the Giants. What a season of suprises. It was unexpected.

Can't beleave it will be 75 days Monday. Can't wait to meet the other posters on this board. It will be great.

Hi all,
I just wanted to be chatty for a moment and share my day. I walked in the Relay for Life about 1 1/2 months ago and met a police officer who thought my DS (4 years old) was soooo cute. She offered to give a tour of the police station and after a bit of trying we were able to set the day up today. He loves anything police, fire or ambulance related. I didn't tell him and we showed up at the station and he so surprised. We got a tour of the station and the cars (the actual booking station is located elsewhere in town so this was mainly offices). Then, they called the local EMS station and told them we were coming over. An unexpected surprise for both of us. The EMS station was super nice and let him climb in several trucks, start the sirens, flash the lights and talk on the radio. He was allowed to lay on the stretcher, move the stretcher position and even scanned my heart on the heart monitor and printed out a report. Needless to say he had a blast. The day was just about perfect.

I just wanted to share with you all and let you know that if any of your children are interested in a particular career most places are more than willing to give tours or more info. We have toured the firestation about 3 times and even had them come to his birthday party (another surprise he didn't know about until it happened). They came for free and we gave a donation and a piece of cake. The children are still talking about how that was the "coolest" party and we didn't even really do much planning, just a simple call to fire department.

How fun! My sons last day of first grade my husband drove him to school in the police car. He was the talk of class that day.. lol

I got a text message from my twin last night who is STILL on her cruise. Well, she went to their 'game show with the adult twist' last night and did the can-can. Well, while she was doing the can-can, she twisted her knee and felt something tear. She thinks she tore her ACL in her left knee! She got sick to her stomach and started sweating (both of which are NOT a good sign). She wanted us to make her a doctor's appointment for her knee. Sigh...like she said, at least she has a story to go with it! LOL!!!
