Where the heck did this second circle come from????

atl_overview.gif

Circle off North Carolina:
SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CENTERED ABOUT 250 MILES...400 KM...SOUTHEAST OF WILMINGTON NORTH CAROLINA IS ACQUIRING SOME TROPICAL CHARACTERISTICS. THIS SYSTEM COULD BECOME A TROPICAL OR SUBTROPICAL CYCLONE LATER TODAY OR TONIGHT AS IT MOVES WESTWARD OR WEST-NORTHWESTWARD. THE LOW IS ACCOMPANIED BY WINDS OF UP TO 65 MPH...100 KM/HR...TO THE NORTH AND NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER. REGARDLESS OF DEVELOPMENT THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING STRONG WINDS...COASTAL FLOODING...HIGH SURF...AND DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS TO PORTIONS OF THE U.S. EAST COAST DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. SEE STATEMENTS FROM LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICES FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND WARNINGS. AN AIR FORCE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT IS SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THE SYSTEM THIS AFTERNOON.

The circle we've been watching over Hispaniola:
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE OVER HISPANIOLA HAVE DECREASED SOMEWHAT THIS MORNING. THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT HAVE A WELL-DEFINED SURFACE CIRCULATION...BUT ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS APPEAR TO BE FAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION AS IT MOVES GENERALLY NORTHWARD...AND AWAY FROM HISPANIOLA...TODAY AND TONIGHT. THERE IS STILL THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODS AND MUD SLIDES OVER HISPANIOLA DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

Hey Gang, sitting poolside at the resort reading the posts. I've been watching the weather systems. #2 is not our biggest concern, #1 is. If it stays south until late Sat and Sun we'll be ok sailing out of PC and stopping at CC. I'm kind of worried, this thing hasn't moved much and is still fairly strong despite staying over land for the past week. Worst case IMHO it starts to move tonight and gets near the Bahamas by Friday. It might force us to change ports and CC stops. I'll keep an eye on the direction and report back tonight.

Pillowcases: I just bought 200 count thread ones from Walmart. ( this year they are blue) Also pack different colored sharpie markers in a gallon ziploc bag. Take both items to the service desk on the first night. Put your room number on the bag. On the last night they will be returned signed from a bunch of different characters. :) it is one per child per cabin. I have 3 kids.. so 3 pillowcases. :) it is a great memento. ( some will get photo mats signed instead).

Palo pizza...:worship: shrimp with asparagus is our favorite.

Well once again you've all been so chatty today I can't possibly catch up...it's 1:25am and we just got back from the MNSSHP with Hadley and her family and got our make up off and now it's time to get to bed....WHEW!! I thought it'd be fun to post a pic of our group tonight though:

That is Me, Jason, Hadley, Dave, Marika & Rio all as characters from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the party. (Also we just happened to bump into Kimberly in Buzz Lightear's exit, too!!)

Great pic!!!

This will be my last post from home.
I will try to check in from CBR if I can.

I KNEW our ship graphic should have been going in circles on the logo! :lmao: Who really cares? I don't! Sunshine & gentle breezes (hopefully), family and friends, DOTD, not having to go to work ...
Sounds like my idea of a vacation

:rotfl:

take minty gum, it will hide the alchol smell, since you should have minty breath from all the mouthwash. (altoids work well too.) :rotfl2: little trick from my youth. :rotfl:

The DH will say, "Hey, you're not supposed to drink mouthwash!" or "Give me some of that; I have bad breath." :rotfl:
