we sat the one year at MK and watched the seagulls swoop down and take hotdogs outside by the merry go round. It happened to about 5 people. it was almost comical.
the seagulls stealing french fries were crazy too. :)

I'm just wondering, how many people are sending their FE gifts straight to the ship?

Mine are packed in my suitcase, but, I'm one of the lucky ones, cause I don't have to fly with a suitcase so no added extra weight charge :thumbsup2

I posted on the other board and found out there are complimentary lockers at Chanka. :)
I am just taking a beach bag with us with towels and maybe some bottled water..maybe some snacks?

We do have electricity now...it came back on late Monday night. I've gotten to spend the last two nights in my very own bed :lovestruc . We are not expecting anything from Ike but rain (like we need more rain) but at least this time we won't have to leave. We are far enough north that this won't bother us (if you look at a map of LA we are at the very top left point of lake ponchatrain (big body of water in the 'toe' of the 'boot' of Louisiana).

This means that I GET TO WORK ON CRUISE STUFF THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get to pack up our box to send, finsih up my FE gifts, finish pirate costumes and start packing........:yay:
So glad you guys are back up & running! Lucky it was quicker than expected...

We're not. I'm packing them in our suitcase....actually in their own suitcase.

OH MY GOSH. I got pooped on by a stupid seagull at that spot a few years back! The kids were feeding the birds french fries & I kept telling them they were going to get pooped on if they kept that up & they should stop. Nobody listened to me. Until I got pooped on. Oh, everyone ELSE in my family thought it was hillarious! Luckily (?) it just landed on my shirt, so I bought a new Disney shirt to change into. ICK.:rotfl: Let's see, that was about 8 years ago, and they kids STILL laugh about that!

Thank you so much for finding out for us!

I never thought about packing beach towels. Does Disney provide towels when you get off the ship at the different ports or should I just pack some towels just in case?

Normally, any excursion you do & at Castway you get towels so no need to bring your own..

FatCat thanks for the heads up...got a lower rate for 9/27 but could not for 10/4....one question though...I got a rate of $31 for 9/27however,.......that does not include $10 cost of booster/car seat for DD and apparently there is a $15 one-way fee. T conf email does state that "Total cost" does not include carseats. Not sure about the one way fee.....the reservation is for one way so any fees should be built in....plan on arguing that one at the counter!

Yeah I am getting a car seat as well.

I suppose you could call the Avis desk in Port Canaveral and give them your RES# and ask specifically. Let me know

Right. There's a container of clean towels located right as you leave the ship. Take however many you need, and bring them back with you.

Thank you!!!!! That's what I was hoping because that means it is one less thing to pack! :yay:

The response to the previous polls have been anemic, so I'm fine with you guys choosing a time for the photo shoot and calling it good.

No matter what, people will have conflicts that pop up. I'd love to have a perfect time, but I don't think there is one.

I'll start a thread over there for it to be talked about, so we can keep up with responses specifically to that subject. :)

OK....I leave the time picking to the others. I'm non-confrontational like that! ;)

Unless you're concierge, you find out for sure when you get your key to the world cards. There's a rumor you can call DCL and find out, but I'm not sure about that.

I've done it...we've called about a week out from sailing. One time they confirmed that we got the rotation we requested. The other they said they did not know yet. It's a tossup whether or not they'll tell you but it never hurts to call & ask.

Hi, Chris.

I've read on the main boards that folks have been able to get stuff on board in their checked luggage, but that DCL is really wanting folks to bring it as carry on instead.

Anyone know for sure if you can still check a case of water? I believe the final consensus on that last time I followed those threads was that we are, but I am too tired (lazy?) to look. Sarah's checked "luggage" will be a case of water and a box of diapers!:rotfl2:

Hep B: Don't share needles, don't hook up while in port, and don't get in a car accident while traveling.

LMAO!

We've had a rainy day here, with much more rain to come our way. In the Dallas area, we won't see anything damaging, but we're expecting some good rain from the hurricane.

Try to stay dry, Heather! Hopefully no power outages!

But doctor has given the okay to leave the country.

Either way, in two weeks, we'll be in the Magic Kingdom!

Awesome! What great news! :goodvibes

Slinky, but not little!
:rotfl:

Is there a Jimmy Johns in Port Canaveral?

There sure the heck aren't any in Tampa!!
Man you guys are making me crave subs really bad!!!!

Normally, any excursion you do & at Castway you get towels so no need to bring your own..
You can always grab some of the Disney towels...they put out a big a cart of them as you disembark and then have an empty cart for you to put the dirty ones in as you return to the ship later. :thumbsup2

Okay I got the last shipment of my cruise shopping (clothing) today.
I'm happy to report all three of my bathingsuits somewhat fit. :confused3 I mean, they fit but I'm not thrilled with how they look.
What in the world is up with the tankini's? Seriously. My skirt looks too short (although it actually fits) and the top is too short too but I like it... so I'm warning you now if you see me on CC and my muffin top is busting out....well...sorry!!! Do like Chicago and Look Away! ;)

We do have electricity now...it came back on late Monday night. I've gotten to spend the last two nights in my very own bed :lovestruc .

:woohoo: That's great news that the power is back on.

I'm just wondering, how many people are sending their FE gifts straight to the ship?

Not us since we're driving. They will be included in one of our suitcases.....or maybe in a case/duffel bag of their own. I haven't made it that far in the packing process yet.

Anyone else notice the new LOW pressure area in the Atlantic????? Seriously NOT FUNNY.

Ack! Where in the Atlantic is it located now?

I posted on the other board and found out there are complimentary lockers at Chanka. :)

Thanks for the info!

Even if it's not booked through Disney?

Yep. You can pick up towels onboard before getting off the ship.

1. AN AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER...INCLUDING SOME OF THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL STORM JOSEPHINE...HAS DEVELOPED ABOUT 350 MILES EAST OF THE SOUTHEASTERN BAHAMAS. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE MARGINALLY CONDUCIVE FOR SOME ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE SYSTEM TO OCCUR AS IT MOVES SLOWLY WEST-NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

My ear has been bothering me lately, no pain, but feels wet inside.. I thought it was wax but when I clean it, there is nothing coming out.. It clogs up or feels fuzzy when I yawn then pops..

So I went to the DR's today and was told I don't have an ear infection but I do have an infection of some kind.. :confused3

She said my gland is swollen.. so I am on a 4 day Antibiotic, then ear drops for wax removal.. and back to the DR's for a recheck in 11 days..

Not I.. I am making E carry those suckers on the plane LOL.. I shipped other heavier things... HOPE THEY MAKE IT. Mailing it today Keep your fingers crossed its there when we get on board :scared:

Drea....Glad that you mailed the box ahead of time...It will be @ your stateroom door when you arrive

How was it? Did the peppers add anything to it?

What no Patron Shooter?

Man, if this thread keeps up like this I will have to change my schedule and NOT work 3 days in a row, last night was 1 of 3.... I dont know if I can keep up:lmao:

Julie: SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad you are crusing with us, YOU NEED IT!!!! Hugs for your whole family especailly you and Alex, you will continue to be in our thoughts

Dave: HI! I live in Langhorne, we are very close!

Beach towels: I dont like the little rinky dink towels, I need the bigger towels:(so I plan to buy one on Castaway Cay and use it for other excrusionns, the kids and Steve are FINE with little towels.

Tonya: Got to budget.com, put in your dates, makes sure they times are no more than 24 hours...they will charge you more, in the box put in code W81000, this will HOPEFULLY get you a good rate

NOT LIKING THE FORMATION IN THE ATLANTIC, we need an update from
TVEPFOX...she might be sleeping, she works crazy hours also

Rolling coolers: We are bringing one with beer and cans of diet coke for me, I NEED it in the morning:)

Water: We might throw in some bottles but I stocked up on the single packet crystal lights to add to the ship water, I am not a picky water drinker

Bag for Dolphins: I already packed my FE/SM gifts in one of my Vera's tic tac totes...capri melon to be exact, and I plan to use that on excursions and then to bring all my goodies home! Awesome news about lockers

Anyone planning on eating in Cozumel? Now I am nervous with all this talk about Hep...

CONGRATULATIONS to all the Single Digit Dancers:dance3: I hope you have laptops while in the world, we need to hear all about it!

Have a GREAT night everyone, and just remember

WE ARE ONE DAY CLOSER

Nope.. :sad2: I had to remind DH that we were in Disney and this is the Happiest Place on Earth :rotfl2:

ROTFL!!!! I hope that helped!

Watching is a lot more fun than being involved in it!!

Ditto. I think I will pack a special bag for the FEs. That way, I can empty it and fill it back up with other goodies. :)

I posted on the other board and found out there are complimentary lockers at Chanka. :)

Not sure if we're taking any goodies with us. We'll see. I need to take a beach bag, though. Thought about making one. Not sure I have time. :)

According to weather underground, they really have no idea where that low pressure system is going. None of the computer models agree at all.
