Love the tree pictures we are going to put ours up this weekend.

Wedding plans are moving along venue and church booked next is dress shopping

Maureen, glad to hear wedding plans are moving along nicely!

I received two emails today that I wanted to share.

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL

If you go to this web site, _www.LetsSayThanks.com_
(http://www.letssaythanks.com/) you can pick out a
thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier
that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but
it will go to a member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send
one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these?
Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to
know we are behind them.
This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you.
Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others
to do. We can never say enough thank you.
Thanks for taking to time to support our military! PASS IT ALONG!!!!!

With so many of the DD with spouses or loved ones in the military, I thought it would be nice to share that link. I sent a card already using that link.

The next one is just plain funny!

Holiday Eating Tips ~ 2009

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat step #3.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello!?!?!?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by:

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!'

Have a great holiday season!

No kidding!!!

I'm glad I'm not alone. I know Hadley has simliar thoughts as well. Then poor Erik! Man! People can be so rude and selfish!!

I really felt bad for Erik at that point. I mean the man cheerfully and graciously volunteers to take on a huge task and people get picky! Really :confused3

Joe and I were actually giving some serious thought to switching to the EB TA but the monies for that cruise was going to be due around the same time as Michelle's wedding so we have decided to stay with WB TA we priced the EB when we were on the Wonder the end of Nov and the pricing was almost the same in the same Cat. He really wanted to switch but all I kept thinking was but what about all my DD friends that are on the WB!!! I don't think we are going to do our Sept 09 cruise we really want to go to Alaska and Carnival is tempting us with a very good price since we are past quests (sailed them long before we found Disney) the price for the Alaska cruise actually is less than our Sept DCL cruise and we would have a balcony room the only thing that is expensive is the airfare O decisions decisions!!!

:scared1: Don't you dare change!!!!!

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!'

I actually have this posted on my cubicle wall. I heard it several years ago and believe in it whole-heartedly!!!! :thumbsup2

Good Afternoon All.!

I just stopped to say that I am sad I cancelled this cruise to go in Feb 2008. I see that I missed out on some great people. I have been reading some of your TR's and it sounded grand. At least I have Val(Magic3forme) going on our cruise next yr. Maybe in future cruises I will be lucky to end up with some of this fun crew. Keep on with all your TR's I am throughly enjoying them!

Hi, Michelle! At the risk of sounding like I'm rubbing it in, this really is a great group! Val is a gem, too, so you're right....you're lucky to have her with you!! Since you're from Ohio, perhaps you're friends and you already know that...if not, I know you'll have a great time!

Enjoy all your planning and have a fantastic time!

Drea and Amy, your Christmas trees are beautiful!! I love how the red shows up on the picture!!

You do have a busy day!!!! I'll be work all day...and then maybe doing a little shopping tonight. My mom does an annual craft project at Christmas time so I'll probably help her with that tonight too.

We had so much rain in the last couple of days that it looked like there was a little swimming pool behind our house. :scared1: No damage inside, thankfully! :)

Have a great day everyone! :)

Page 2 - can't have that!!!!

Well, it's just about time to pack up and go home! Can't believe how fast this week went. Next week is going to be very busy.

Monday is a Happy Hour for someone from my department that is leaving. Tuesday is our big holiday party (let down this year - we went from a nice catered luncheon to pizza and bowling - supposedly 'cause they want to combine our sites and have one big party and this is the only thing that could accommodate everyone), Thursday I have my girls bunko holiday party and Friday night is my sister's annual holiday party! Geez - everything in one week!

So - found us on page 2 again. So I'll have a conversation with myself until others can join in. I know it's a very busy time of year especially for those of you with small ones. I hope everyone is taking a little time out to enjoy themselves. We all know that our first instinct is to run around to get all the shopping done, decorate the house, bake, etc. etc. and then we're exhausted by Christmas time. Remember to breathe and take a little time to enjoy the decorations and a cookie or two (or in my case four or five). And to remember the wonderful times we had this past year and the new friends that we met.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Don't want you to need to answer yourself. I too hope to be able to take a min to smell the roses this holiday season. But work is killing me. I haven't had time to even think about a tree or any other decoration or baking. Lois

I'll join in!

I had such a crazy/stinky day at work yesterday that I really wasn't in much of a posting mood. Today is better...so far! My fingers are crossed.

Dave and I are doing some Christmas shopping this weekend. I'm really looking forward to relaxing!!!!

Hope everybody has a great Saturday! :)

I was up early today (for no good reason lol) so thought I would work on my trip report,.... but im just not feeling it LOL. Could clean, but dont want to LOL. Got lots of wrapping to do, and still a few more gifts that I'm making along with the boys want to bake cookies UGGG.... guess I better get a move on. I will try and breath and relaxe though thanks for reminding me to do that LOL. :)

Happy Saturday yall!

Hello all - Sorry I haven't been around for a while.......my head is still spinning! I just had to post to get us off page 2! Christmas is coming too fast for me this year and this one is going to SUCK! All I can think of is how Pop-Pop will not be there to play Santa and give out the gifts Christmas Eve and how my other Grandfather did not make it until his birthday which is Christmas Eve, then mine is Christmas day. We always celebrated them together on Christmas day. I wish someone would just pick me up and drop me off in Disney, or on a Disney ship (I really wouldn't be picky).........just for a few weeks until the holidays are over so I don't have to think about it. Hope everyone is doing well.

Crissi

Oh Crissi, I wish I could make things better for you!

Here's a hug...I hope it helps a little.

OH Crissi, I know how you feel. the holidays are never the same after you lose someone. hugs hun!

Hi everyone!!!

Just wanted to give us a bump up!

Dave and I are having a relaxing day so we'll probably go Christmas shopping tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday! :)

Crissi -

As joyful as the holidays can be, they can also be a very depressing time. I know it was hard to "celebrate" each of the holidays after my brother passed on. The first one is the toughest. Just embrace the family that you have.

Thanks for all of the kind words and hugs! I am so glad that we went on this cruise especially since I found such a great group of new friends........now if only we all lived a little closer. (HAHA!)

You guys are the best!

For those of us who have not finished shopping yet.........what great deals have you found?

Crissi :grouphug:
