How would I go about doing this if I didn't use a TA? I booked through DVC. I'd love to build up our onboard account before we go. ...

I don't know, but I would imagine that you would go about it the same way you made your cruise payments, just noting/telling that you want those funds to be applied to your SBA. :confused3

I wonder why they cut that day short? Is there something else going on then?....

I think it's the island crew's luau night on the beach.

Thanks Drea! There was also another page I had saved. It was similar to this, but it showed the actual pics of rooms. I can't find it anywhere :-(

Okay, I do have some questions..

I think I might have messed up on The Dolphin Discovery reservations. The only time they had left was 3:30pm. Now I am a little worried that we won't be back in time for the ship if they leave early. :scared: Did anybody else book the 3:30? How far is it from the ship? Also, I think I heard somebody say if you book 4 reservations for this they will take you for free to the park. Is that right? Do I just show them the receipt or what do I need to do? I didn't book through Disney.

My other question is what restaurant is a must see or must eat at in the Downtown Disney area? There are so many to choose from I'm not sure which one to try. Do you usually have to make reservations?

Thanks!:worship:
Tonya

Hi Tonya - I thought I read somewhere that the encounter was around 45 minutes. I would call or email them and see what they say. You do get free transportation by taxi (they said it was around a 15 minute taxi ride). You just have to send them an email asking for it - include your reservation or confirmation #. They will email you back confirming it. Did they have the 2:30 available? If I were you I think I would be a little nervous about cutting it that close. I would email them and tell them your situation. Maybe they will fit you in earlier.

For those of you who don't frequent our website, I just wanted to make you aware that you can vote on the following two new topics:

  • FISH EXTENDERS
    - If you're participating in the FE fun, vote on how you would like to see the participant list distributed.
  • DIS MEETS
    - Vote on the location for our "Meets". Select either Promenade Lounge (seating & air conditioning) or Deck 10 (sunshine & fresh air)

Polls are located on the right hand side of the Home Page.

I must be doing something wrong also, I don't see any polls, so I'll tell you. I perfer the Promenade-nothing can blow around if it's windy and it will be easier to hear one another.

Well I'd rather have more time on CC than less but I'm not going to worry about it. I know that time of year if there's bad weather out in the Atlantic that we might end up going elsewhere anyway. I'd rather have 5 hours on CC than all day in Key West.

For DtD we like to eat at House of Blues. You can make reservations there - at least we did a couple of years ago last time we were there.

Hello all -

I have no problems with listing our room #, we are on the 2nd most popular deck - deck 7 - Room 7510.......Mom and Sis are in 7000. Anyone have any comments if these are in good or bad places???? Well, are there really any bad rooms on the ship? We booked as guaranteed so if you did too, check Disney's website. I just happened to check last week and voila!

Crissi

We're neighbors (sort of) my sister and I are about (if I counted right) 12 cabins aft of you.

This is what is listed on the DCL Web site. I wonder why they had to make the change. I am sure it is out of DCL hands. There are others who tell them when the come and when they go based on when the other ships are moving about. I too am just going with the flow and not worry about 2 hours difference. I will find something on board to fill my time it is Disney.

It depends on what kind of food you like - there is a little bit of everything there - down toward DisneyQuest and Cirque du Soleil is our favorite area - we like House of Blues - kind of neat atmosphere - good variety of food. Bongos is yummy too - cuban food - but there is also seafood, Rainforest Cafe - as far as I know none of them even take reservations.

Lois,
Thanks for checking this on DCL. I just had not gotten around to it yet. I suppose its 'nice' to see it actually confirmed on the website.

Ah. that would explain it. Is that something special they do once a year for the island crew? I don't begrudge them a night of celebration & fun, but it figures it would be during our cruise. Just fits in w/all the other things that have happened. Bbbbuuuuuuttttttt...........we're still on a 7 day Disney cruise!! :woohoo:

And to quote HSM "We're all in this together" and WE WILL have GREAT TIME:cool1:  :cheer2:

I saw a few others had a problem finding where to vote in the polls. If you ckick on the directory tab, you should see them on the right hand side of the screen.

Just thought I's share because I couldn't figure it out at first either. If you click the polls tab all you see is the results.

Have a good night everyone!

Downtown Disney has an open liquor policy which many do not know. You can buy margaritas right near the stage outside the world of Disney.

I guess eat where you want. But goto Ghiradellis for dessert.

Also for a single transaction for any store if you ship your merchandise home outside of Florida you do not have to pay sales tax. $150 depending upon weight is usually the break even point. But not having to lug stuff around may be priceless.

It will tell you when and where in the navigator.. i believe most are in the atrium
Thanks!
Woo Hoo!! You guys are going to love 7 aft!!! So easy to use the 'Secret Deck' and the 'Secret Stairs' up to Topsiders. The aft elevators and stairs are less crowded too, and since most of restaurants are aft it makes it so convenient!!
Ohh glad to hear that. Lots of good 'secrets' it sounds like:goodvibes :goodvibes
Sign up at Guest services when you board and you will get a ticket. Usually people tend to agree which day they want to do them so we all aim for a certain day. As the navigators get closer you can make a prediction as to the day.
That is what I was looking for thanks!! I can't wait to do some tastings!
Turns out, all onboard for that CC stay is now 2:30PM rather than 4 or 4:30. According to what I was told, Magic will now be leaving around 3PM. Bummer. :sad2: I made mention that our day is cut really short now & was 'reminded' that we have 2 stops for CC on this sailing. Yeah, thanks a lot.
That is really annoying. More time at CC was one of the big reasons for picking this cruise!
Oooh, we were in 7098 on our last cruise (same room opposite side of the ship) We LOVED it!!!!
I'm so glad to hear that.

Wolfgang Puck Express is my favorite at DTD. It is like a cross between counter service and sit-down the food is incredible.

A port change and a shorter time at CC, gee what's next I was wondering.

I just found out! Delta just called to inform me that starting mid-August they would no longer be flying out of our local airport (26 miles from our house.) Our flight that we booked in February is cancelled.

They offered us the same fare out of three other airports that are 3 hours from here. All the flights are early, 6:15 am early, which means another nights stay at a hotel, airport parking fees and more gas...... Plus we won't arrive home until midnight on Saturday......UGH!!!!!

We have 2 days to decide on what to do!

I'm starting to get a very badddddddd feeling about this cruise......

SPH 5020 and 5022 here! :thumbsup2

AQW ~ Lucky you. We had those rooms in 2006 and loved them! Just make sure there are no workers outside if you leave your curtain open and decide to change clothes.;)

So I may have missed the question of the week for last week, so I'm going to answer it now.

My DBF asked if it was the 8 pack of Crayola crayons or the 64 pack with the built in sharpener? If it's the 8 pack, he's violet and if it's 64, he's gold. LOL!!! :lmao:

I would be yellow since that's my favorite color. My DBF said I should be pink because it reminds him of cotton candy and that's sweet like me! I have the best DBF ever! :)

Parasailing on CC: how strict are they on the 90 pound minimum. Ds 9 really wants to go. He's tall enough, but not quite 90 pounds. I'm wondering if he's under, will they let us go up tandem? Anyone know.

Julie

OHH I would like to know about this too. P is really looking at doing this with me..(which Im surprized as he is my scardy cat) He is 10 but under the 90lbs also!

Hey BTW Julie hows your DH doing? Also you and the kids... just want to let ya know Im thinking bout ya guys!

Yum, I can always go for chocolate. Thanks to everybody else with the resturant info.

I'm glad you said that because it reminds me that yet again I have forgotten to post one:eek: Don't you hate it when life starts taking precedence over DISsing?:rotfl:

Okay, so onto the new Question of the Week (warning this will be another very hard to answer one:rolleyes1 ):
What is your favourite Disney song???

So, I need to think on that (translate to mean must narrow choices down from the hundred or so which some to mind:rotfl2: ) so I will post mine and Dave's answers later.
