2nd... so the Rasul Steam Bath - $83.00 is this a couple price or per person... you know Im just wondering for the sake of looking up prices that are on the dis board..:rolleyes1 figure I would ask so someone else doesnt have too. .YA thats it LMAO

The pricing is per couple.

The last time we were in Grand Cayman we actually just walked right off the little pier and there was a very nice gentleman doing van tours - I don't recall how much but I want to say about $40 for the 2 of us - he took us EVERYWHERE. Since it was our first trip, we didn't even know about the rum cakes - he was the one that took us there and made them give us tons of samples. He also took us to see some of the most expensive houses, the house that withstood F5 (I think thats how you say it) hurricane - all kinds of places - it was like a 2 hour tour. I will ask hubby if he remembers his name - but he was well worth it.

I can't confirm that, because we (CC members/not in a suite) have already made PALO reservations for us and my wifes parents (first timers). I saw their names during the reservation process. However my wifes parents window for excursions & spa wasn't open yet. But PALO was ...

Oliver

Just in case: Please do not post why I was able to book before the 90 days mark. I don't want my wife to read this => Surprise! I already told her not to make any reasearch why we have PALO already ... :lmao:

Yep, you're right. You can book Palo for folks linked to your ressie whose booking window isn't open yet, but not excursions.

You sneaky, sneaky guy. What a nice surprise for her!!!

Wish mine would think of something like that. He is so non-surprise (for me) oriented, its sad. Now, he keeps telling me he's going to bring home a Harley out of the blue one day - surprise! But of course, that would be something for him. His surprise from me would be that he could take said Harley & sleep w/it in the driveway for a while.

Ok how do we do this?
We are linked with Crissichef, do we both try for Palo or should only 1 of us try? If we are linked and one of us gets ressies every adults name should show up right?

MY GOSH, why is this SO confusing?

Oh, the scalp massage treatment. DO IT if you like your head rubbed! That's one of Hubby's favorite things in the world for me to do, so I sent him to the salon (where the scalp thingy is done) and he was in heaven, heaven, heaven. And for just $26, it was a great deal.

He said they did the whole head thing, but also his neck. He said it lasted about 20 minutes, and would have only been better if he were eating an ice cream during the process :)

My favorite color: PURPLE!

Jeff's favorite color: "probably green...I take it back...Royal Blue"

Reese: blue!

DH has many many disney ties too.. The only problem is he is left handed and can not tie them.. :confused3 He normally makes his Grandfather tie them for him.. :thumbsup2

Hey my DH is left handed as well...maybe he could teach yours how to tie his tie lefty style? (That reminds me to make sure DH is sitting at the table in a spot where he won't elbow someone :duck: )Looks like DS will be both left and right handed.

OOOH...now there's a fun idea! I hadn't thought of that...but that could be very cool!

We were already talking to Hadley and Dave when they were here a couple weeks ago about the plan. Once NY makes it legit, we're going to run right to city hall and have it done to become legal and all that in a civil service/ceremony....but we'll have the real deal event at WDW. (Right now Disney won't do "weddings" for same-sex couples but they will do commitment ceremonies and they offer vow renewals for people who are already legally married....so we plan to do the legal deal here, but have our public ceremony/celebration there).

We were originally going to do the ceremony on the Magic or at Castaway...but I don't think many of our friends/family would be able to afford that trip....so instead we'll do it at WDW (and then people have the option to even stay on the cheap off property or all rent a timeshare home together or whatever) so people can attend....and then take a honeymoon DCL cruise after but invite all our friends, relatives and guests to join us for the cruise, too....if they want!

Of course I probably need to fill in Jason on all these elaborate plans so he's aware!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm a bit like Galinda in Wicked, huh?:

Galinda: Fiyero and I are going to be married!
Elphaba: He's asked you already?!
Galinda: Oh he doesn't know yet!

That is such a GREAT plan. You know it amazes me that anyone can see a couple who have been together and who clearly love each other and tell them they can not 'legally' get married. You guys are already married in your hearts who is the state to deny you the piece of paper that goes along with it?

I think I'll go on a search for Disney ties with all the discussion of it now. Hubby and DS can have matching ones for dinner each night. That would be especially funny since DS is a mirror image of me rather than his dad. Poor little guy.

If your reservation is linked with anyone, only ONE person can be booking at a time!!

So find out ahead of time or be on the phone with each other at 10:01 pm Mountain Daylight time of your booking window!!! :thumbsup2

If you're in a disneycruise window at 9:59 MDT, CLOSE IT and open a new one to log in at 10:01 MDT of your booking window.

After 2 times booking, I've had the heart stoppage each time because I thought I could jerryrig the system. Don't do this to yourself. Just open a new window and go to the site. :thumbsup2

Book in this order:
Palo Tea
Palo Brunch
Palo Dinner
Flounders (if needed)
Excursions
Spa stuff (head rub thing can't be booked online)

Hope that helps!

Saw this today, I don't know if the tipping calculator we use has been updated:
============
Disney Cruise Line has modified the recommended tipping guidelines for any Disney Cruise sailing beginning July 13, 2008:

Voyage Length
7-night
Dining Room Server $28
Asst. Dining Room Server $21
Dining Room Head Server $7
Stateroom Host / Hostess $28
TOTALS PER GUEST $84

The 15% gratuity added to bar, beverage, wine and deck service remains the same.

Kimberly, our answers for the QOTW:

DH: Poo poo green.. I am sure Crayola has like 3 colors that qualify for that designation. :)

Me: Any color but the above. I'll even take flesh tones over the greens he likes.

Fiona: PINK!!! (Fiona has decided her eyes are changing colors to PINK, by the way. What in the world am -I- doing with the world's most princessy princess????)

I recall a while back between some of my cruises the upped the stateroom host/hostess. In some ways I actually think they do most work.

In speaking with them they like deck 2 the best.

Those rooms tend to have more 4 people occupancies on average and also there is no balcony to clean.

I took a peek at this calculator (http://cruisetip.tpkeller.com/) & its a bit 'off' from what you've listed above. The variance in the actual #s isn't that great for each individual role, but it is different. The total per guest difference is $7.70.

Is the info you gave listed on DCL's website? If so, where? (another bookmark to be added to my laptop in the near future) Thanks much!

It's from a newsletter sent out by All Ears. I will see if I can find an acceptable link to post here.

Hey all,

Well I'm glad to see our ties are going to be of so much interest.....I hope they don't disappoint!! The fun thing about our ties is that very few of them are Mickey ties....I work to find ties from OTHER movies....or unique Disney fabric to MAKE ties that only we'll have. Like the matching set of Tinkerbell ties that Hadley mentioned we had on the TransAtlantic.....which, actually, maybe we WILL bring along just in case...because they're cute. This year there will also be a home-made Ariel tie AND a Disney Princesses tie!! (Hadley hasn't seen either of those...so she will still have a couple surprises in store on the ship! ;) )

As for the question of the week...my favorite color is Tigger Orange and Jason's is Roo Blue (those aren't crayola colors...but if Disney owned crayola I'm sure they would be!!)

So we decided that we'd just go ahead and buy them....and who knows now that we own them maybe it'll shift the karma in our state in the right direction and NY will decide to legally recognize our relationship and then we'll already have our outfits for a wedding (FINALLY!!!)!! :cool1:

Janet & I are with you in that we would love to be recognized. We reach our 21 year this August. I don't see how anyone can say that is not a valid relationship. I gladly stand up to the test anytime. Lois

You folks are welcome here in CA anytime to rubber-stamp your existing forever commitment. :goodvibes I'm just about as conservative as they come... Republican... devout Catholic... and I think it's very short-sighted to withhold legal marriage from same-sex couples. With the way the world is today, one would think we would be bending over backwards to *support* loving commitment, no?

We might be in the minority, but dh isnt even bringing his suit this time around. A dress shirt and tie will be about it. Ds son has a shirt/tie too.
I am still trying to come up with what we are wearing for our family theme picture. Last year we did the dress clothes and Steelers, the Steelers one looked 10x better. :)
Maybe Penguins hockey?

I can't believe it never occurred to me to pack our USC stuff for family pictures! Thank you for this idea! :worship:

LOL!!!

In honor of the Wicked quote, I have to share a picture of my kidlets from "Wicked Day" at a local boardwalk shopping area last week. We made them little "I heart Elphaba" t-shirts and they were a huge hit... John Rubenstein told my DS he saw him in the audience singing every word to every song the performers did. When it was my daughter's turn to talk to Rubenstein (who plays the Wizard in the Los Angeles company) she put her hands on her hips and said "Why are you so mean to Elphaba???" :rotfl2:

(I'm sure I'm not the only one who has kids who look everywhere BUT the camera...) :rolleyes2

I hope no one minds if I hop in and take the liberty of giving a (kinda lame) QOTW. In the spirit of Fish Extenders and Secret Mickey (especially for the kiddos), here is our...

~~ Question of the Week ~~
In the Crayola box, what color is/was your favorite?

Lionel and I both pick red. I looked up the crayola colors and there was no snazzy name for red. Just red. I feel boring :(

Do more ressies open up for everyone? Like the 90 day folks and us lowly 75 day folks?

According to DCL (the horse's mouth), NO.

The lady we spoke withsaid they USED to do it that way and no longer do.

She said the current process is as follows: DCL will release 50% of all available reservation times/slots at the first booking window, 105 days prior to sail date (Concierge Cat 1,2,&3 and REAS). This accounts for ALL of the booking slots that will be obtainable ONLINE. They are not replenished at 90 and 75 days, and once gone nothing further wil be available prior to sail date unless there is a cancellation of a previously online-booked slot.:faint: The remaining 50% of time slots will be available for booking on a first come-first serve basis upon boarding the ship.

If you follow the main board you will see frequent posts of cruisers griping about no Palo available when they get to their booking window.:worried: And according to what Brandie posted yest. tea has one spot, brunch four, and dinner slots are available every evening. So tea=impossible, brunch=difficult, dinner=easy.

FWIW, we have had to do the "ressie scramble" onboard both of our prior cruises. It took about 1/2 hour (we were in line when they opened) and we did get what we wanted (brunch & dinner) on the day/nights we wanted but not at the time we wanted. So not all is lost if you have to try onboard....just the planning isn't as easy!;)

Just to add to nenner1's post... There are only 2 seatings for High Tea in the first place, so that's why I mentioned booking that first in my list.

Wow. That stinks! :(
