Lois, how darling! Thank you for sharing!

Hey, I just bought a Gorillapod too! That was fast. I just ordered it and it was here in a couple of days. Tiffany, where in Hawaii are you going? We are going in Oct. to Maui. Tonya

I'm meeting two of my childhood friends in Kona for a girls only week. I still can't believe Doug said I could go! Only 6 more days to wait!

My Bunnypod (Gorillapod) came in the mail the other day! I'm having a ball hanging my camera all over the house! Now if I could only figure out how to use the delay function. . .

Lois - Congratulations on your beautiful new addition to your family!

Jen - I'm so glad to hear that things are getting better!

Hadley - How is Peter Pan going? I haven't read anything about it for awhile.

I had a fun day today! Megan turns 5 on Thursday, so we had her Birthday Party at Build-A-Bear today. There were 9 kids total and they were so cute! We started upstairs in the food court with a Mrs. Field's Cookie cake and when we walked down stairs to Build-A-Bear they were all holding hands and squealing with excitement! It was loud, but so cute! Megan has been with this same group of kids since she was in 2 year old pre-school and this will be the last year they are together. Her class will be heading to 3 different schools in the fall for Kindergarten. Only 2 of her classmates will go to the same school as Megan. It's so sad! I wish they could all stay together.

About the Question of the week:

Megan: Hands down Cinderella (did I spell that right? It's late!)

Grady & I are holding out for Wall.E! In fact Grady's Birthday is June 28 and I think it comes out on June 27th. We are planning on doing a movie party with his friends on opening night with pizza for dinner.

Doug? I'm not sure.

Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

Tiffany

This weekend, I've worked on mapping out the pre-cruise WDW plan to get the biggest bang for the hours of operation. This process unveiled the best day to participate in the Backstage Magic Tour. So, today I secured reservations for the Backstage Magic Tour for Wednesday, September 24! Thank you to those who provided their opinion about their experience.

BTW, I requested the AAA discount, and that reduced the rate from $199/person to $169.15/person (15%).

Now to decide on MNSSHP on 9/23..... :confused3

Jen, great to see you around, which means Sarah is still hanging out where she belongs! Take it easy!! :)

Brandie and Tiffany, you're less than a week away from your escapes!!!! :dance3: Have a fabulous time, and I expect you both to let us know how your vacation went! Oh...and Brandie, see if you can't get some inside scoop on guest-benefitting dry-dock changes! ;)

...My Bunnypod (Gorillapod) came in the mail the other day! I'm having a ball hanging my camera all over the house! .............

:lmao:

Kimberly MNSSHP is a total blast. I'm planning on the 9/23 party myself. You can always wait and buy a ticket the closer you get to September or once you are at WDW. The tickets don't sell out in the first few months and even then it is the parties that are on Halloween that sell out right away.

Kimberly-

We've been to MNSSHP 3 times. Twice pre-cruise. Only problem, the kids were tired the next day when we woke early to drive to the port. I was pretty tired too. We had a complete wash out last year. The puddles in the Fantasyland were up to our ankles in places, and they canceled one parade. But- they ran it later, and the fireworks (parade and fireworks are great),and still gave us a one day free admission to the MK because the weather was bad. We love it, but we're not going this year.

Once we surprised the kids, kept telling them we weren't going, and then just rode from EPCOT to the MK on the monorail. They didn't figure out we were going until we actually got down to the will call window.

Dh arrived safely for phase one of his deployment. So starting tomorrow, the countdown begins- 400 days until dh's orders run. Still not sure how long he'll be there.

Besides that: for those who celebrate Easter: Happy Easter (we celebrated Easter today).

Julie

Happy Easter, Julie and others who have celebrated today!

Thanks for the DH update, too. Like you said earlier, getting the process started means he's a step closer to getting home. :) I hope you have a wonderful support system to help you and the kids until that mailorder DH on back-order is shipped and arrives.

Happy Easter to you and your family! I'll also be sending good thoughts to you all while your husband is deployed.

Kimberly, you MUST do a MNSSHP especially if you've never done one before! They are so much fun!!! Great fireworks, an awesome parade, trick-or-treating (adults do it too!) and the characters dressed up in their finest costumes! It's so much fun! My DBF and I are planning to go to the party on September 23.

:)

I don't think there's a suitcase big enough for all the stuff I'm trying to bring.

I cannot WAIT until Friday. Stinker DH has Thursday off and he's been gloating. I'll get my revenge by packing. *evil grin*

:cool2: Just got e-mail about fuel surcharge from Disney.
Looks like cutoff date is May 28th.

I may have to think about booking my next cruise early if I can find an onboard booker. :cool2:

Any one have any thoughts that after May 28th some rooms may open up on our cruise? :confused3 Just a thought that went through my head. :hippie:

Hello All--I hardly posted at all last week as we have been crazy busy. Dave and I really need to learn how to say "no":lmao: I don't think we understand the N or the O part:rotfl: In addition to all four of us having roles in Peter Pan Dave is the fly supervisor and in charge of set construction (really tricky becuase a high school production of Suessical is in the same theatre until 8 days before we open so we can only build things we can move until the LAST minute:scared: ) and I am coordinating marketing for the show. This essentailly means we are all eating, breathing and sleeping Peter Pan about now! Add to that the usual stuff to keep us on our toes and Marika comming down with a fever Saturday night (she is still running it) and I have not had TIME to DIS.
I do want to say I loved reading the answers about people's favourite films and ADORED the oh so sweet photo of Hailey as well as enjoying everyone else's commnets. It is good to wind down in the evening "hearing" from all of you even when I am too wiped to post anything myself:)

Hmmm--okay it IS Monday so I need a Question of the Weekand it should be a non Disney one this week (that is so hard). Well, keeping with the idea that these might also make it simpler for the secret Mickey folks to come up with a good gifts lets try for something that helps us all know one another and might lend a few ideas in the gift depatment as well. Other than Disney/DIS (after all we all have that in common) what is a hobby or passion that you have?

For our family, community theatre is an obvious answer for all four of us. But more individually our answers would be:

Me--beisde theatre and taveling, I DO love to play games. Card games (especailly Euchre and Canasta) and games like Cranium, Taboo, Outburst, Pictionary, Scategories, etc.

Dave--Baking! MMMMMmmmmm it is good to live with someone who has perfected the making of the Palo Souffle:cloud9: . He also likes to make breads and creme brulee.

Marika--reading!!! The local library just last week finally added photos to their website. There is a great photo of Mairka reading between the stacks on there and it is soooo her. She generally works her way through at least a book a day and often more (though David COpperfield slowed her down and took 5 days last month:laughing: ).

Rio--performing!!!! Give the kid a stage and he is in heaven. He dances (tap, ballet and jazz this year), is responisble for getting us all into community theatre, etc. If he isn't performing himslef the next best thing is to watch others. He loves to see live shows and even watch movies (especially musicals and 80s flicks).

Okay, I owe some of you emails, and Erik I even owe you a check (how much do you wanna bet I will be the last member of the lanyard team to get that out!?--I will be in town Wednesday at THE LATEST to mail it!). I promise to catch up soon--but today the sick kid is out of books so I want to get the computer in her hands soon to occupy her.

Take care all.

Hello everyone. I haven't been on the Disboards in quite some time.

I regret to say that we will not be cruising with you this September :sad2:

My daughter has been very sick and we do not know how things will be in September, so we have to cancel.

I have enjoyed chatting with everyone here and wish you all a magical vacation.

PS - if any one of you want a mid-ship Cat 3, ours will be available soon. I am not sure if and when our friends are going to cancel their room, but they are in the Roy Suite (Cat 1) and my parents are cancellling their Cat 4 room (mid-ship deck 7).

Lee Ann, I'm so sorry to hear that things haven't turned around for the better yet for DD. I sent you a PM...please know I'm serious about my offer.

Wishing you all the best!!

"Other than Disney/DIS (after all, we all have that in common) what is a hobby or passion that you have?"

Myself: Well, besides "chasing" around my DS, Chase, who just turned 3 on Saturday.........;) Most of my time is spent chauffering my DD around to all of her activities during the week (volleyball 3 days per week, tutoring 2 days per week, cheer 5 days per week :confused3 ) I have to admit that once I get a chance to finally sit down and breath, I usually just zone out in front of the t.v. or computer :rolleyes1 I do really enjoy working out at the gym and with my trainer :yay: and I obsessed with vacation planning

DH: He is the Green Bay Packers #1 Fan since the day he was born, and truly believes that Brett Favre will come out of retirement and play next season! He is in love with Sirius satellite radio and also likes to play his playstation 3 (yes, he is just a big kid :rolleyes1 ) and he likes to perfect our yard, he is in competition with all of our neighbors, they just don't know it :rotfl:

DD: Madison loves to be outside riding bikes or playing baseball with the neighbor kids. Her current obsession is volleyball. She has also been on a competitive cheer squad for going on 6 years now :cheer2: and she loves to read and listen to music.

DS: Chase would be happy if I let him sit in front of the T.V. all day watching Disney movies :sulley: but also loves to be outside playing in the dirt or reading books.

Fizzgig: Will you be doing a TR for your upcoming cruise?

Probably not. I'm lazy. ;) I'll just come on here afterwards and tell you guys about it and answer questions.

Hadley: I like to read A LOT and plan future trips for the family. Fiona likes to do 3 year old stuff: read, color, use scissors, drive her parents crazy... you know, typical stuff. Huber likes to get smacked down in paintball with his friends and play poker. Oh, and lose card games to me. *tooth ting*

I am sorry to hear this. Have you given any possible thought to rescheduling to the 2009 Double Dip? I'd love to have you go with us, and hate the thought of you guys losing your deposit.

As far as I go, my friends say I'm Martha Stewart minus the green thumb and jail time :-) That's a bit extreme of a comparison, imo, but I do enjoy organizing (imagine that!), entertaining, cooking, and all things crafty. I'm not great at sewing, but have made a lot of Fish Extenders, curtains, and some kids clothes. I also get pleasure from scrapbooking, making cards, coming up with theme parties while executing all the details, decorating cakes, going to Drum Corp and Color Guard shows (yea…I was a band geek playing the flute and piccolo), traveling to new places, watching the TBDBITL and the Bucks in the fall, and amateur photography (I like to think I have an eye for the art, but I have soooo much to learn!).

Ruth, my DGM, has become very talented at quilting since she retired many many years ago. She’s made each of her 14 grandchildren quilts, which they all receive at HS graduation and so many more. I’m the oldest, so she hates looking at mine being it was her first, and she’s come such a long way. Of course I love it and will always cherish it! There are still 2 grandchildren who have yet to receive their quilt, but she has them ready and waiting. She and Grandpa Howard used to go to Myrtle Beach for a month every year as she loves the beach, the ocean, and dolphin watching (that’s more the reason why I’m so thrilled she’ll be on her first cruise with us!). She also loves to play card games with all of her friends in her condo community and taking her rescued tiny little dog, Sandy, for walks. She’s a master at making something out of nothing….a talent our generation and those behind us have not yet been forced to develop but really should. Unlike her eldest granddaughter, she loves to read. She typically will read a Christian love novel and faithfully does her devotions every day.

Linda, my DM, doesn’t fall far from the apple tree! She loves to sew and quilt and enjoys mind games and doing jigsaw puzzles. Mom and Grandmother are best friends, so their similar interests make shopping at JoAnn’s very enjoyable and creative for both. Mom also loves having holiday parties and adores her white puff ball Bichon Frise, named Sidney, who is totally in love with Lacey, the Bichon who lives down the street. OMG…if you even whisper “Lacey”, he goes wild! It’s too funny!!

What are we doing on page 2??????

My hobbies - planning Disney vacations & cooking, baking, etc. I LOVE to make all kinds of food!

DH - Golf (HAHA!) and watching ESPN, sports, and history channel, discovery channel, etc.

DD - Soccer and playing the trumpet, reading

DS - Loves to play outside and watching Disney movies and shows

Crissi
