I'm not going to look at this as reducing my chances of winning by telling you about this, rather as giving hope for one of us to cruise for free!! ;)

If you're not on the Walt Disney news email list, you are likely unaware that there's a 4-night DCL vacation sweepstakes sponsored by FamilyFun magazine. There are also a couple of webisodes to watch from this site.

Amy, just a random thought, but have you learned anything more about your Disney Store's future existence?

Hello everyone. I haven't been on the Disboards in quite some time.

I regret to say that we will not be cruising with you this September :sad2:

My daughter has been very sick and we do not know how things will be in September, so we have to cancel.

I have enjoyed chatting with everyone here and wish you all a magical vacation.

PS - if any one of you want a mid-ship Cat 3, ours will be available soon. I am not sure if and when our friends are going to cancel their room, but they are in the Roy Suite (Cat 1) and my parents are cancellling their Cat 4 room (mid-ship deck 7).

I am sorry that you will not be cruising with us. However, I will keep your daughter in prayer. It is alway scary when family is not doing well. Our families need to come first and that seems just what you are doing. Many blessing to you and yours. Lois

As far as interest and hobbies: Janet and I pratice Chen style Tai Chi and we both Square Dance. Janet enjoys baking and if I don't say so myself she is very good at it.

I have seen my newest babie. She is beautuful.

Can't wait to watch her grow. Lois

How cute! Congrats!

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. I will be praying for your family.

NENNER1:  You might want to check our website. Greg may have found you a solution for getting all of your family onboard.

Hope that helps!

As of right now, so far so good! I'm hoping more information will become available this week since the public documents have been listing May 1 as the take-back date...we'll see!

I work tomorrow night so hopefully I'll know more by then! My fingers are still crossed though! :) Thanks for asking! That was really sweet of you! :)

Lois - she is just beautiful!!! I love the question of the week and hope I am on the Secret Mickey list because I have some great ideas!

My hobbies are scrapbooking, cooking and traveling
Abby loves dogs, card games and Disney
Darrell loves USC Football, working out and hanging out with the family.

I hope everyone has a great week!!!!

Oh Lee Ann I am so very sorry that your daughter is so sick and that we will miss out on meeting you. I will keep you in my thoughts and I really, truly hope things work out for your family and especially your daughter:hug:

Aw! Thanks for thinking of me!!!:goodvibes

Actually I did manage to work that one out, thanks to a little help and pixie dust from a friend.....er......cousin......hee hee!;)

Speaking OF......

I had my weekly check yesterday and the doctors had a conference call (gawrsh all this for lil ol me?) and decided it may not be in Sarah's best interests to wait much longer. I underwent an amniocentesis today to check and make sure her lungs are mature and also to check bilirubin level. Will find out the results and decisions will be made on Friday. I have a feeling our little chunker will be here very soon. (she weighs estimated 5 pounds 9 ounces...already! If she went full term, at this rate she would weigh 11 pounds!!! )
And I was told today that I would probably have to undergo a c-section...which I really did NOT want to have to do. So I told my doctor to check me and he did and suprise! I am already 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced! Woo hoo! SO I am really hopeful I can go the natural route instead of surgical, although my DR would not go so far as to say that would happen, he did say we might have "options".

Sooooo, of course I will let you all know as soon as I find out if she will come soon or sooner!:thumbsup2

On to the question of the week!

Jen: My hobby is fire. :hyper: I enjoy recreational reading about historical fires, i.e The Great Chicago fire, the Iroquois Thetre fire, the Cocoanut Grove, etc. But if someone is reading this for Secret Mickey ideas I'll tell you straight up I already have every book ever published on the subject. Seriously. :lmao: I also enjoy Disney History, especially in regards to the parks, Magic Kingdom and especially the making of Disneyland.

Ron: His hobbies...sports especially football and baseball. He doesn't play anymore (except on his PSP!) but does coach. He loves the Tampa Bay Bucanneers and Tampa Bay Rays. He likes going on Disney Cruises too. That's about it.

Brendan: Loves to read. He enjoys school age humor chapter books like Captain Underpants and such. He loves the TV show iCarly and also Drake and Josh. He likes swimming and plays football and baseball. He aslo really enjoys science type books, experiments, and kits!

Savannah: Cats, cats, cats, cats, and cats. That's it. Oh did I mention cats? Yep. She is our resident crazy cat lady. :cat:

Sarah: though still too early to call I'm going to have to say she will have interest in either gymnastics/acrobatics, soccer or both! :rotfl2:

I'll be sure to let you all know what's going on as soon as I find out!!!!:thumbsup2

Oh good heavens...I spend a long weekend away from the boards and you get all chatty on me!! :lmao:

I am sorry to hear we've lost some cruising friends....I hope your daughter's health improves!

For those of you on the lanyard team who have sent checks already...wow you're quick...THANKS! :) I've started the process of printing the templates for the nametags and if all goes well then a "fun" late night activity for me and Hadley when she's here visiting with me in early June will be to chat, watch tv, cut out name badges and stuff them in their plastic holders! :thumbsup2

As for hobbies:

Me: I really don't have too much time for hobbies it seems because I work WAY too much...but luckily one of my hobbies is also a second job....and that's coaching gymnastics and cheerleading...so that's fun. I also am an avid animal person...we have some outdoor fish (in our pond/fountain) a large indoor aquarium, 4 separate betta bowls, a cat, and a Noble Macaw (small species of parrot). I also have an obscenely large tigger collection and get very into decorating my house, plannign disney vacations, and watching tv...lots of tv.

Jason: Jason is very into doing things around our house but also loves anything about computers....he has a new favorite online video game every week. He's also an avid TV watcher, too.....however where I watch lots of garbage like reality TV.....he is addicted to the Discovery Channel and the History channel and science programming.....he is an unashamed geek! :rotfl2:

Jen--I am so glad Sarah is growing big and strong so that she is hopefully healthy and ready to come out into the world when she needs to. I will keep thinking about you and her and sending pixie dust your way.

Kimberly--Thanks for doing the math and telling us we are at the 150 day mark. We needed the reminder to brighten our 34 degre morning (brrr). Dancing is happening here:cool1:

Erik--I am such a dolt. I totally forgot about donating to the AIDS walk you and Jason are doing until this morning. But, it is done now--I thought I would post my own absent mindedness so if anyone else did what I did and thought they'd get around to it soon and then forgot, this will be a a little reminder;) I have to say I have very cool kids. They asked what I was doing and when I told them they came back with their wallets and made a donation of their own. So the line that says Marika and Rio really is them with their money (and they don't even get an allowence so it is all gift money and babysitting money, etc.). Yeah, I think I'll keep those two.

he is an unashamed geek! :rotfl2:

Well, Marika is in good comonay then:)

How you know your DD11 is a geek:

She want to attend MIT someday (and no one in the family did) and can spend hours reading about their hacks (sometimes we wonder if she is already secretly planning her own)

She thinks the "coolest t-shirt" she ever saw is the one that reads "There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.":lmao: I had no idea SHE understood binary until she pointed out the shirt and then I asked her. Who knows where she picked that up?!

The library orders her every book she asks them to becuase they know she will read it.

She is totally excited to have found out she can stream episodes of Nova and watch them any time she want to.:rotfl2:

When the kids at karate were talking about cars and day dreaming about what they would own if they were rcih (last week--this topic seems to come up every few months!) she answered a Tesla (google it if you don't know--it was funny hearing her trying to explain it to the other kids).:rotfl: :rotfl:

Her friend is describing a Harry Potter parody to her and stops mid sentence to say "You probably wouldn't like really. It's stupid funny and you only like smart funny."

This is all stuff that has been mentioend or happened in the past two weeks. Yes, I am rasing a lovely, talented, sweet geek and I love her:hug:

....They asked what I was doing and when I told them they came back with their wallets and made a donation of their own.....Yeah, I think I'll keep those two.

That's awesome! They learn from example!! :rolleyes1 I know you're proud and certainly should be!

:rotfl2:

He and Lionel will get along very well......I overheard my DH asking a friend of his "so, are you going to play Conan online? You get a rhino if you preorder...."
You have to speak geek to understand him, sometimes :rotfl2:

Erik, I will be sending out a check next week! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see the lanyards!

:cheer2: YAY!

Ok, so, hobbies outside the DIS / Disney......

Me: writing, for sure. Also, reading, when I have moments of spare time. I like to watch some of my favorite TV shows like Lost and The Riches on the couch with a cup of tea - one of my favorite things to do. Lionel and I both enjoy home projects together. Oh, and running. In fact, I'm doing the Minnie Marathon 15K on Sunday! Eeeeep! 9.3 miles of sheer torture.....but I love it.

Lionel: he LOVES to read. Whenever he gets interested in something, he gets a book on it. He likes computers and online computer games, as well as playing the XBox 360 and the Wii. I love my nerd. He fixes my computer. :rolleyes1

Happy Hump-day!

Jen, I hope that you and Sarah will get through these days leading up to her upcoming arrival without urgent concern. You've done a wonderful job taking care of her (and you) through this high risk pregnancy, so I'm sure you're greatly looking forward to enjoying her little mouseketeer smile soon! ::MinnieMo

......I overheard my DH asking a friend of his "so, are you going to play Conan online? You get a rhino if you preorder...." :rotfl2:....

Very funny, Lionel!

Okay...on a serious note, my mom learned today that she has to undergo a cardiac catheterization Friday. I had suspected something was up the last time I was up to visit her as she was extremely tired (and said she had been sleeping a lot lately), and I found a couple of vials of nitroglycerin in her bedroom. So a couple of weeks later, I asked her if she needed a follow-up appt with the cardiologist. She said she had one scheduled for the time when she went to KS to visit my brother but never rescheduled.

She had a stint put in last October and they told her then that she had two other spots that had significant blockage as well. She also had a tough recovery from the stints with significant pain and didn't feel better for weeks. At that time, she had been feeling bad for probably 8 months, which is why I chose this itinerary back in April 2007 for our cruise because it's more leisure than many others. Depending on what they discover during the cath on Friday, she may end up with another stint. If it gives her energy back and makes her feel better, I'll "all good" with that.

On a side note, keep in mind that she works in the cardio ICU, but as all nurses (and probably doctors) are, they don't listen to their own bodies and face the possibilities there's something wrong as they always say "well I've seen worse so I can suck it up". :sad2:

So it's become a little more stressful over here knowing she's going through this again and my DBF has been very closely monitored in the past several months and in the last week more intensely tested for his liver functions still with no diagnosis. They come in threes, right?????? The good news is that mom should be in good shape come Sept. :)

I'll keep you all posted. Take care everyone! :grouphug:

Oh Kimberly, you must be so worreid about both your grandmother and your DBF  I wish I were in Ohio right now and could give you a REAL hug.
My father in law has a stint (and has had various other heart issues and surgeries). It is always so worrisome when he is having tests and surgeries. However, the bright side is that KNOWING there is a problem really is a good thing and can make a huge difference. His cardiologist likes to remind us that the truly dangerous conditions are the ones we don't know about, so really it is not such a bad thing to catch it and fix it. I sure hope they can fix your grandmother up so that she feels better than she has and is set to totally enjoy your special three generations trip.

Kimberly
tons of hugs for you:grouphug: :grouphug: for you mom, keep us updated, and I agree about nurses, we dont take care of ourselves, we take of everyone else:hug:

Has DBF had his gallbladder looked at in reference to his Liver Function Test(LFT's)? :grouphug:

Best wishes to you and the baby! I was surprised last week that one of my best friends had her baby 7 weeks early! Both she and the baby are doing well though! Please keep us updated!

Hugs to you during this stressful time! I went through something similar with my dad last year. One day I was at work and my mom calls my cell phone and tells me that dad's having chest pains AGAIN and he is going to the ER. I was like, chest pains again and ER?! I had no idea he was having chest pains in the first place! After all was said and done...he did have a mild heart attack, but thankfully the clot was caught in time. He basically gave himself his own stress test using our new eliptical (spelling?) machine! He had a cardiac cath, a stint was put in place and everything was fine.

Things come in threes...I've seen it happen a lot!

Still I know it's stressful but everything will be fine. Please keep us updated and I'll keep everyone in my thoughts!
