Thanks Stacy. Uncle Bud is taking me to Charlie Brown's so I can us my $10 Birthday Coupon.

We went on our 1st "Magic" western cruise beginning of October 06. Best weather we ever had on a vacation. Water was like glass. We too got the funny looks when we said that we were going early October.

Maureen

Your're so right, I was there that week too. I remember the Cruise Director saying "that they hadn't had a perfect week like that in several months"

Hi Everybody - I haven't posted in a REALLY long time! I just spent over an hour reading back as far as possible. Jen, I am praying for you and Sarah. Please let us know how things work out. We are FINALLY settled into our home in Florida (32 miles from WDW!) and are loving it. We are so excited about the cruise and meeting new friends. I will keep reading and posting now because I am done unpacking and organizing as much as possible. Buckeye Gal, you have done a great job in bringing everyone together - looking forward to cruising with everyone!:grouphug:

We are 39 miles from WDW! Probably in opposite directions, though....we're in Winter Springs.....welcome to the state! It was hot today, eh?

WICKED KARAOKE?!?!? I am SOOOOO there!!! Chris and Rob would do it, too.....I actually have the karaoke versions of almost every song on the soundtrack, too.....let's have a Wicked dress up night, too!! :yay:

I think I might be the only person who has never heard the soundtrack.....I did read the novel though, does that get me some credit? ;)

On another note....

I've been busy all week making and decorating some cakes for a friend to take to his friend who is from Hatboro, PA. My friend used to teach the Hatboro-Horsham High School Hatters marching band with the current color guard director, who he's been friends with for many years. (Now I know there are SEVERAL PA'ers out there, so you may know where this is near Philly, and in this small world, I would not at all be surprised to hear someone knows this man or at least the Hatters in general.)

Anywhooo, the kids are competing in Dayton today, so my friend wanted to take the cakes to celebrate the director as this is his last year teaching "the Hatters". I ended up making 2 cakes as a flag, one for outdoor and one for indoor guard. Each had embellishments I made on the cake to represent various shows they've done. Finally, I made one little guy (cake) in the shape of the Hatter's top hat. My friend, who is also a Hatters grad, just loved it, which is all that counts. I took some pics last night, but we didn't fully assemble all the parts together as he needed to safely get it down to Dayton. So when he gets back, I'll post a pic of what it all looked like in the end.

So off to bed I plan to be before 9:30...beats the 2:30 am bedtimes I've had since Saturday night followed by a small nap! (UGH!)

Brandie, great to see your mom post! (Hi, GammaRee! :wave2:) I've been trying to get my mom to post her answer to the Question of the Week. So if LindaLouZ shows up on your monitor, you might have to pick up your phone because I've fallen and can't get up. :rotfl: (If you're reading this, love ya, mom!)

Hi Kimberly - We have spent quite a bit of time in Hatboro, PA lately.......there is an indoor soccer tournament there that DD has been playing in. Gotta love the traveling soccer........next weekend it is off to Lancaster, PA which is about 80 miles from us! It's such a small world, isn't it? Funny you mentioned Dayton too......my cousin went to college there and visits often.

Talk to you soon !

Crissi

I agree about Castaway Cay, I am REALLY looking forward to this stop TWICE;) When we tell people we are cursing in Sept, they look at us like :scared1: and say, "THAT'S HURRICANE SEASON" OF course we know that, but what I like about being on a ship is that is can go around the storm, but when on land we have no choice but to stay inside. I am looking foward to being the boat and having a GREAT cruise with all my new friends, who I havent met yet:rotfl: !

That is one of the reasons that DH and I pay an extra 150 dollars for cruise insurance. It will cover missed ports, and excursions.

Stargater....

PS Epperbiker, Do you have a sleeping bag under your desk like I used to?

We are taking the kids out of school for our cruise, can you guys give me some info on how you are making this cruise a learning experience?

What books are you reading?
What excursions are you doing to help with learning?
Etc.

I would like to get some ideas so when I write my letter to the school I sound like I know what I am talking about:rotfl:

Hi,

We home school so we used the Chacchoben Ruins as a learning experience. She read up on the Myans (In the kids section of the library of course), she was resposnible for making change in the ports and writing a few sentences every evening on what she did that day. We also used a map and let her plot our route which was a geography lesson.

Just some thoughts.

:woohoo: We are PAID IN FULL !!! :woohoo:
We are expecting a $3,000 for furniture that got discontinued so we used the credit and paid off the cruise..

"End up being Elphaba"?!?! :lmao: :lmao: If you ask me that's like "ending up" with a winning lottery ticket or "ending up" striking oil!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Galinda/Glinda is fun...and I love me some Kristen Chenowith or Megan Hilty....but that show is ALL about the green girl for me!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

See...I KNEW several would know of Hatboro! lol

Okay...so I wrote earlier today that I planned to be in bed by 9:30ish. Note it's 10:45. I got home around 6:30, and could not keep my eyes open. So I took a 45 minute nap on the couch, setting the alarm on my cell phone. I fell back asleep after waking up until my friend called me at 10:00 on his way home from class. He forgot I told him to not call me after he was finished because I had planned to be in bed. Thank goodness he did. So now I'm eating dinner not not tired enough to go back to bed yet. UGH!

:cake: HBD, Michele!

......Gotta love the traveling soccer........next weekend it is off to Lancaster, PA which is about 80 miles from us! ...

Yep! Gotta love having to be on the damp, cool field at 6:30 am 80 miles away from home, too! I have a friend who has this challenge many many weekends herself.

:woohoo: We are PAID IN FULL !!! :woohoo:

:yay: Congrats!!! :yay:

That reminds me that I STILL need to look into that alternative cruise insurance so I can pay off the remaining $325 balance.

(Wicked)....Not unless you go and download the soundtrack immediately!!! It's some of the best musical theatre ever written! :thumbsup2

Erica, you're making ME feel better!! I love Broadway muscials, and I've not once heard the soundtrack. I was too embarrassed to raise my hand to not being familiar with it. I'll have to add that to my wish list now. :woohoo:

Hey Buckeye Girl - Haven't posted since the first go 'round but I've been reading everything and my more than likely future DIL (thedisneygirl02) has been keeping me up to date on everything. Anyway - just wanted to let you know that I actually live in Hatboro and I'm an alumni of H-H (go hatters!!!). Course, it's been a very long time....

Oh how funny!! My friend who took the cakes not only taught there, but he also is an alumni. His parents and brothers still live there. See.....SMALL world!

BTW, I think you will be so fortunate to have Amy as your DDIL!!

Hope to see you around the boards with us more often!

Just a reminder this is on tonight (Friday) on the Travel Channel....

I thought I would research what Brandie tempted me with today and share with others who were under a rock! :rotfl:

You are correct. On our Double Dip website, there is a controlled access discussion forum exclusively for the kids. Go to Post #6 (link is in my signature or just go to Page 1) and find the "Kids' Meets Forum" section. There are directions on how to go about getting them access found there. :)
