I'm off for President's Day, but I packed it with a couple of visits to friends, one of which is a Stampin Up! party, and I need to squeeze in a couple of errands, too. So off I go!

Kimberly, my SIL is a Stampin Up consultant and her stuff is really great (expensive, but great). Are you a card maker or scrapbooker? Or do you just like going to parties, like me!

Jen, love the sunrise picture...probably the only sunrise I will ever see on the cruise.

Tammie, sorry to see you go.

Just throwing out another idea for Fish Extender fun....

I'm curious if there are some of you who would want to do more of a Secret Mickey exchange (like a secret Santa exchange) than the general Fish Extender fun. I recall that some of you mentioned this some time ago, and with so many people partcipating, I can understand if you prefer to concentrate on adopting one family on the cruise instead of wandering around the ship dropping off multiple little gifts. I'm thinking this option may get more of you involved by allowing you to shift your budget of time and money. This may make it more manageable for some and still not leave you and your family out of the fun.

I guess with over 140 people participating in 40 cabins, it may make sense to do something other than the general fish extender fun...but I have no idea on what to do. Secret Mickey sounds fun, but then we would give one gift and get one gift, right? My original idea for a gift was one per stateroom/family.

Okay, what does everyone else think?

No Limit Hold'em Tournament???? :cool1:

Hello Everyone! I regret to say that we won't be cruising with all of you, after all. :sad2: Ryan and Dana are looking at some job changes that will prevent them from sailing, so we are all going to do something else together as this was a family vacation. I wish everyone a great trip!

So--

1. This freed up two Cat 6 cabins next to each other, 6080 and 6082
(Erica of course has first Dibs :lmao: ) Maybe a couple of you will get upgrades:goodvibes

2. Someone else will have to take over as the "party cabin" and lounge!

3. Kimberly, please remove us from the activities we have listed, and thanks so much for all of your hard work in keeping us straight! (Brandie too!)

4. Drea, please thank your DH for his service from us

5. Hadley and Erik, please take us off the lanyard list, and thank you, too for all of your work in that area, as well as the logo.

Take care everyone, and happy planning! :dance3:

Noooooooooooo! Oh, Tammie, that stinks! Now where will the party be? DH might not approve of 140 people in our cabin.....
Sorry to see you go :sad1:

I like the Secret Mickey idea, and I also like keeping the option open for anyone to "surprise" everyone with something smallish, like candy. I know, I keep bringing up the candy thing. Maybe bubblegum, for our impromptu 80's party? :upsidedow

No Limit Hold'em Tournament???? :cool1:

I fully support that! :woohoo:

Hey all,

I've been procrastinating my desire to post this question/thought because I thought the answer might reveal itself over time..but as we get deeper into discussions of secret mickeys (or since we're at sea maybe Secret Ariels? or Nemos? or Flounders? or Pirates?) and fish extenders....it seems a good time to ask the question.

So what exactly does it mean to sign up for "fish extender fun"? On my last cruise where we did fish extenders...it really wasn't that formal...we didn't actually sign up for anything. People who WANTED to bring little gifts just brought enough for everyone on the DIS thread and then went around and put them in people's fish extenders (if they had one...if they didn't they'd often leave them hanging on the doorknob or even ask the housekeeping staff to put it in the room for them). Our group ALSO did a secret mickey which was much more formal. People who wanted to do it signed up and the names got shuffled around by someone who was the coordinator and each participant was assigned a cruiser or cabin (some people did it individually and others as couples) then set a price limit, etc. So here is my question:

1.) Is the list of people signing up for "fish extender fun" with Kimberly people who are just letting her know that we intend to have a fish extender on our door so people know how many gifts to bring if they want to bring little goodies?.....or....

2.) Are these people who sign up committing themselves to not only receive but to also GIVE fish extender gifts?

Also, if it's the former then I wonder do we really need a closed group on the other website? (which I must confess I signed up for but haven't looked at in months....I barely have time to read this thread much less a whole other website with its own sign ups and posts and discussion threads and such! :lmao: .....although I definitely appreciate all the hard work that obviously went into that site!).

Also, if we do end up creating a secret mickey event for this cruise, then Jason and I would happily join that fun (as a couple/cabin)!

This is a response from FL Tours that I received after I requested a change in pickup times. Does anyone agree or disagree with this? We are scheduling a half hour grocery store stop. We did ask that they pick us up on the last day at 9:30 AM. I didn't want to rush off the ship.

We have updated your reservation as requested from 9:30 am to 8:30am from
pop century. I just wanted to inform you though you will be at the port
before the ship is even emptied and will be standing there for two hours
before they even start to board the ship. The suggested time to be picked up
at the pop century should be around 10:30am going to the cruise and leaving
the cruise at around 8:30am to 9am.

Thank you

Best regards,

FL TOURS

FLtours I just got an online quote from them for a round trip limo and the cost is $305 plus 20% tip AND a $25 grocery stop fee! This was WAY more than I was expecting. Any thoughts?:confused3

Thanks so much, everyone! It has been great getting to "know you" and I was looking forward to meeting all of you. :sad2: I will be around, and please write those TRs so I can live vicariously through all of you! We will
probably do a Mexico trip with DS - might even be the same week, just needed to keep our options open and the budget low for them. Maybe we'll see you in Cozumel! :rotfl:

We have a party of 6 going in a van with a grocery stop (FL Tours). I was quoted $230.00. There wasn't an extra fee for the grocery stop. The cost of the limo was quite a bit higher thats why we went with the van.

I noticed that the on board time in Cozumel is 6:30 PM. We have early dining.
Does anyone know if the excursion companies try to get you back early enough to make the early seating? How about what night the Pirate Party is?

Thank you, Kelly

They may be right as DCL does not allow new cruisers to even drop off luggage until I think 10AM. We are being picked up at Pop at 9:30 and they didn't say a thing. That should put us at the port at 10:30. I felt that would be early enough to enjoy the terminal but late enough that it would be open for us when we arrived. I am sure part of the two hours they mentioned is the time you will wait before they begin to check people in. They do not begin that until 10:30 or 11 AM. Then you wait again before they begin to allow us to board at 11:30 or 12:00. You will get a number as you enter the terminal and should be in the first group or so. Boarding goes very fast once the open it up.

That is interresting. I got a qoute of 250 for 6 of us. We don't get the grocery stop because you only get that if you use them round trip and we are using DCL after the cruise. I wonder what the difference is?

The only excrusion that will be of issue are those that are 6 or more hours. We had early dinning and went to Tulum in 07. We made it back in time but did not change or spend any time shopping in port. (there was plenty shopping on the excrusion) I would do it again as Tulum was well worth it. Also you can always eat on deck nine if you so choose.
Pirate's party is Wednesday night. I have never really enjoyed it. Too late and too many people maybe this cruise. Who knows?

Lois: please tell me about your excursion to Tulum. My parents really wanted to do an excursion to the ruins, but don't want to travel 2 hours on a bus to get there. How hot is it? My dad is 76 and I am not sure he would want to be in 100 degree heat for a few hours. I did read on the excursion that part of the tour is spent at the small each near Tulum. Let me know your thoughts. They are looking into all of the ruins excursions at both Cozumel and Costa Maya, but are leaning towards Cozumel because of the malaria caution for inland Costa Maya near Belize and Quintanroo (they cannot take any anti-malaria medications).

Welcome to newcomers :woohoo:

I just got off of the phone with FLtours and I found out that I had filled out the online reservation app. wrong, that is why the price was $391.00 for a round trip limo!:scared1: The actual price is $253.00 for 4 people, including tip, fees and a grocery store stop. This is quite a bit cheaper than the quote I got from Tiffany Town car for $415.00!:scared1: So, there is one more thing taken care of.................:) I did forget to ask FLtours if they give a DisBoard discount, does anyone know???
