I am very familiar with the policies of the Disney Cruiseline but am thinkingof RCL for next year.

-How do deposits work? Such as when are they due and how much are they, I know Disney is 20%. I read 250 per person is that correct on 7 nights. And is it due when booking or can you hold without deposit like Disney is 3 days.

-And when is final payment due? 75 days correct on 7 day correct.

-Limitations on payments? i.e. amount minimum per payment, etc...

-Gratuities- Auto-charged, amounts, etc... 12 a day per person but is it auto charged and when is it paid on booking or Onboard.

-trip insurance- good, bad, amounts/% through them

For those of have done both how does it compare. I done two Disney cruises fixing to embark on the third in 47 days. Only me and husband celebrating anniversary. We do not gamble and do not drink often. Any other hints or tips.

One last question on beverage packages I seen one that included speciality coffee and soda etc.,,, is this unlimited things such as fraps and mochas. And where can we get this beverages from any location on ship?

Let's see if I can help.

Deposit $250 per person for Balconies or lower. Suites have a higher deposit.

Final payment is due approx 75 days in advance, unless it is a popular cruise. Xmas/New Years then the final payment is earlier.

No extra payment required until the final payment date. If you buy excersions or drink packages you pay when you order them. Wait until you get on board to get your drink packages, no savings to purchasing them early.

Tips are added to your cruise account and payable at the end of the cruise.

Ińsurance, never leave home without it. All depends on what you can lose if something happens.

Hold time is 24 hours without a deposit.

Drink packages are dependent on the ship. Smaller ships have the royal replenishment package which includes all non alcoholic drinks, larger (Oasis and Alure) shops the same, except for Starbucks not included.

Hope this helps. We havecruised RCCL ,but not Disney...yet.

Unless you opt for My Time Dining. If you opt for that, which means you dine when you want to (or you make reservations for the times you want, and they can be different every night or the same, however you wish), then you pay for the tips with final payment on the cruise.

We were on Freedom and we will be on Vision, and I believe the drinks packages are the same for both. Both have Replenish all the way up to Ultimate, along with wine, soda, and water packages. I have a thread that should be bumped to the front page that lays out the packages.

We had Replenish on Freedom. Could have gotten as many frappucinos as I wanted to have! PP is right, no Starbucks. But what that means is that if the ship has a proper, branded, Starbucks venue (which I think is only on Allure and Oasis), you cannot get your espresso drinks at that venue. However, EVERY ship has an espresso drink location that is NOT branded a Starbucks. Even if they use Starbucks coffee, have Starbucks cups, and use Starbucks straws. On Freedom that's the espresso bar at Cafe Promenade. On some ships it's called Lattetudes. On Vision, I'm not sure of the name, but it's right next to the Ben&Jerry's I see in the pictures.

I have read that you can order the specialty coffee drinks even in the main dining room and have them included if you have Replenish (or Ultimate, which combines the Premium booze plan with Replenish, if I'm remembering my own post correctly), but I didn't try that so I have no experience with it.

Replenish also includes the morning's fresh-squeezed OJ (as opposed to OJ from a box), 500 mL bottled waters, smaller sparkling waters, and virgin "mocktails", even the frozen ones. It also includes soda. I mention those things specifically because you said you don't drink much; neither do I anymore, so it was cheaper to just buy whatever beer/etc I wanted individually, rather than try to max out a drinks package that included alcohol. :)

Thanks. This is very helpful trying to decide between the Replenish and the regular soda package.

Another question on Port Excursions I understand of you change your mind not getting a refund but what of the ship does not make port on time or at all are you issued a refund?

Excursions that are cancelled outside of your control are credited back to your onboard account. RCCL has been really good lately when ports are missed, due to unusual circumstances.
