Sister Wives

I think Kody's version of loyalty is very different than most. It makes me cringe everytime he says it.

I have Christine's book on my Kindle wish list. I'm hoping it drops in price at one point (or gets included on Kindle Unlimited) but I am tempted to just purchase it.

I use Libby and listened to the audiobook for free with my library card.

I've surmised from watching Sister Wives and Seeking Sister Wife that a plural marriage or polyamory model works only under very specific and unique circumstances. Considering how many monogamous marriages end in divorce, it's not at all surprising that relationships involving multiple partners would eventually crumble. One person has to work diligently and consistently to meet the emotional needs of one person, let alone two, three or four. Eventually, someone will end up feeling like they're not getting equal time, equal amounts of love and attention, equal value, etc. They show that one family on Sister Wives where it seems to work. I think the difference is that they all live in one house and the wives are totally on the same page, truly like and support each other and work together to make things work. It also seems like the husband is willing to change and bend to different circumstances and listen to his wives, rather than act like an authoritarian narcissist who says "it's my way or the highway." Kody was never the right person to take on more than one wife or have 18 kids. He's just not capable of giving that much of himself.

Anyone watch the tell all episodes?
last night's was just a bicker fest. dh and I were like 'just call out the forensic accountants already!'. there was obviously allot of co-mingling of monies and creative financing/designations of ownership and it's coming back to bite some of them in the butt. I'm guessing some of it was practical but wouldn't be surprised if part of it was due to sheltering some of the monies they had from all the bankruptcies over the years (I believe at last count all 4 wives have filed at least once and kody has been listed on 2).

Yes. I've watched the 1st one. My big question for this season is, why is Kody all of a sudden wearing rather large Crosses all the time

I noticed that too. he said a season or two ago that he had lost his faith with everything going on but it's odd that he's now making what seems to be a pretty public display of christinanity-though not in line with the practices of his former church(s) b/c neither LDS nor it's fundamental offshoots are in the habit of wearing or displaying the cross.

Maybe since Aurora and Breana got more active in their new church?

So Meri was supposed to give Kody half of her home equity per the divorce decree (she even said she agreed with that).

Did it never occur to her that she should also get half of all HIS equity in the other homes?

What kind of nonsense is it that either it didn't occur to her or that she signed a one way contract where only she would have to pay him?

And remember. She wasn't getting a divorce to go be with someone else. But Kody was.

Meri said last night kody's name was on the Vegas house-i don't remember it that way (if I recall, all the wives owned them individually w/o his name) but it would'nt make a difference b/c she bought it during their legal marriage so he was entitled to 50% in the divorce (she should have had him waive it). it sounds like when he/Robyn bought their former house meri believed she was 'loaning' the proceeds from her Vegas house but for the purposes of k/r securing a loan she delared in writing that she was 'gifting' the money (common in real estate but usually it's a parent to child deal). now k-manchild is sticking to the letter of the law and say 'it was a gift, no take-backsies'.

Kody did'nt have his name on the other's wives Vegas homes so he had no legal equity/Meri had nothing to go after.
