Double charge dispute

We just returned from 3 nights at SSR. Only 3 people in the studio - DH, DS11 and myself. We were charged for 6 people on the DDP. I just called member services who first said the charge is correct, until I pointed out that 6 people couldn't be in a studio. They couldn't help me with the charge and said that I needed to contact billing, which is closed until Monday. Has anyone had an experience like this and was it easily fixed? Member services asked if we had signed for the amount and I shared with him that we didn't sign anything or receive room charge totals at check out. We've never had a problem with any of our previous trips using the DDP, so we didn't worry about it while we were there. Lesson learned.

If I don't receive a room charge statement on the door, I always go to the front desk and have it printed. It is always best to try to correct a problem while there.

But, given that it is a pretty obvious double billing, it shouldn't take too long to correct. The credit/refund however may not show on your credit card until the next billing cycle. Credits always seem to take longer to process. And a lot of that has to do with the credit card processing company, rather than the resort or retailer.

So did it show up on your meal receipts that you had a lot more meals and snacks than you purchased? Perhaps that could be a warning sign for the rest of us to make sure we don't get double charged in the future.

Is there a chance you had the Deluxe dining plan and they charged it as two regular DPs?

Hopefully billing will get it fixed on Monday, good luck.

Credits were always correct. No, it wasn't deluxe. It's pretty obvious it was a mistake. We should have stopped at the front desk. We won't make that mistake again.

My parents had this happen. There were just the 2 of them in villa at VWL and they were charged twice for the dining plan. My mom made one quick call and it was taken care of right away.

I find the dining plan to be too expensive to pay for once, let alone twice!

I just cancelled a DCL reservation and received my refund back to the credit card in about two days.

I would call the resort and ask for your room statement to be faxed or e-mailed. Do you still have your key? Does it show the number of people on the dining plan?

Even getting your statement at checkout does not avoid "mistakes". I always stop by and pick mine up if not on the door. I compare all receipts to the statement.

After our December trip all was fine. When we came home in February and I pulled up my CC statement to check everything for that trip I noticed a second charge from OKW and for a date 3 days after we left in December. Funny since when we were there in December we stayed at AKV and never set foot in OKW, not even to look around. Our 1st time EVER being in OKW was Feb... When I called to question and asked for what was purchased or a copy of my signature on a Receipt, the CM told me it was too old to provide that info. yes it was a charge from Dec, but didnt post to my CC until beginning of Feb. After a bit of back and forth with the cast member, who was somewhat rude about the whole thing she issued the credit.

Due to past billing mistakes I don't even wait till check out, I get a daily print out of my room account.

After 45 minutes on hold for billing, it is fixed. The cm said there was no way of us knowing in advance that the woman that checked us in made a "stupid mistake" her words, not mine. Our credit card was input two times. It will takke 5-7 business days to credit back to our card.

I usually get a printout a day or three before leaving (for a 7+ night trip). I match receipts, so I don't get sticker shock by the final billing statement and make sure everything ties out. A bonus is that we then know how much we have left on our allotted budget to get shopping crazy on the last few days  :woohoo: :worship:

Good to hear that the problem will be resolved soon. Thanks for letting us know.

Sorry it happened and that you had to spend time getting it fixed.
