After getting off Aladdin, Brian suggested going into The Swiss Family Tree House. For some reason, Brian always wants to go up here. It's sort of interesting, but I don't quite get the appeal of doing it EVERY year.
But, he seems to get a kick out of it, and it keeps him from suggesting the Tiki Birds, so we do it.
Brian and I went into see the Tiki Birds before the kids were born. We both hated it at the time. But, every few years, he brings up going in there again! Which, frankly, should be avoided at ALL costs!! I would rather play with Polly Pockets for three days straight than to sit through this show!
So, we were off to the tree house! OOOH BOY!!!
Go up up up, then, go down down down.....
thrill a minute that Swiss Family Tree House!
Thrill.
A.
Minute!!!!!
(Ok, OK! I didn't take these pictures!! I got them from the internet!! I would have swore Arminda took pictures while we were in here, but I couldn't find them!)
At this point, I notice that Arminda's bun is looking a bit lose. I push a bobby pin or two back in place, and we head over to the Pirate Ride. That's what we've always called it, and probably always will.
I still think of Thunder Mountain as a "newer" ride. I remember the first year it was open, my parents tried to bribe and threaten my brother David to go on it. He was NOT into roller coasters! I remember waiting in line (I like to tell my kids about the olden days of Disney where there was not Fastpass and we actually had to WAIT in lines! They are always amazed!)and my brother being VERY upset about the whole thing. I don't remember if he actually made it on that year or not. I do remember my Mom being really annoyed with him though.
Where was I? Oh yeah, Pirate Ride. The sign out front said it was a 30 minute wait, and I about had myself a hissy fit.
I do NOT wait in lines!
STOMP!! STOMP!! STOMP!!
I DON'T I DON'T I DON'T!!!
We usually walk right on this ride, and I was really annoyed that it looked like we would actually be waiting. But, we got in line anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the line was really more like 5 minutes long. That, I can handle!
I like the Pirate Ride, I like it quite a bit!! I've always loved that little dip right before you get into the main part of the ride!!! I told the kids as I always do to hang on tight to get ready for the drop!!!! I love teasing them like that!
However, there was a family sitting behind us who had obviously never been on the ride before. Because, their conversation went something like this,
Is there a drop???
Did you hear what she said?
She said there was a DROP!
I didn't know there was a drop!!!
Are we going to get wet??
Should I put my camera away?
I don't want my hair to get wet, is my hair going to get wet???!!!

AHHHHHH!!!
Then,lots of laughter,
but that was from me....
We all get a kick out of the pirate with the dirty leg! It's just a fun ride.
After getting of the Pirate Ride, we realized that it was 3:00, parade time! So, we headed to Expodition Hall to watch the parade and wait for the rest of our group. We found ourselves a perfect spot right in front of a group of little kids, and settled down in front of them to watch the parade...
