Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination DisneyTeresajoys(true)version:TheEnd 1/23

I've been thinking about this since I read your sisters trip report. How disappointing that the FGIT were so grumpy and didn't make the experience the best it could have been for all the girls.
They did look beautiful though and the fact that your family was there will be the memories they have for years to come! They will forget the bad parts, look at the pictures and remember how much fun it was to be all dressed up!

Some of the worst/funniest/most maddening things that happen on trips are what we remember unfortunately. But with time they will sometimes at least become humorous!
When you write to disney I would include the pictures of the FGIT with the girls to illustrate your points. I think a picture truly is worth a thousand words! And your pictures explain the situation VERY well!!!

All I have to say about BBB is...FGITabout-it! LOL

Aparently, the FGITs are NOT GITting enough training. Hmph.

Maybe you should have offered to hit them with some of that pixie dust! :rolleyes1

Hey, if you pay me, I'll pull the girl's hair back in a too tight ponytail, and I'll do it with a smile! :goodvibes
I'll even shellac some glitter to it, no extra charge.

:lmao:

Thanks for the update!

That stinks about the BBB!

I have been thinking about it too. I think when it first started, BBB was new and everyone was well-trained. We went and had a terrific time. When we tried it later I did notice a decline in the magic with the FGITs. I think the demand goes up and the new ones they hire don't have the same training. I noticed the same thing with photopass. I used to buy several pictures each trip and the past few trips I haven't gotten any because they weren't any better than pictures with my camera. Anyway, that's my theory!

Can't wait for more!

Hmm, Dallas was 4 when he asked if the power rangers were real. I told him they were just people in costumes so he figured out the rest were. He didn't even have anyone to ruin it for him either. Guess boys are not into the fun, let's believe things as much and start asking questions earlier. It was kind of sad. I was expecting him to ask about Santa, but he didn't, although at easter he did ask so for sure it is coming this year I think about Santa.

I guess what I meant was that Arminda still lets herself believe. She does really know the truth about the characters, but she's still young enough to let herself get fully immersed into the magic of it all. Next time, she could think she's too cool for it all. Lydia knows too, but they like to believe. :lovestruc Mommy too! :lovestruc

You should definately write a letter. Disney needs to know.

I know exactly what your mean about Arminda. Before our trip last August my DD then 8 asked me if the Incredibles were real people and I said what do you mean. And she said you know "real". So I showed her a picture of them and she said are they just in costumes? I asked her if she really wanted to know and so of course she knew the answer. Then she said what about Pooh? :sad1: But then she quickly said that's OK because they do it to make people happy. I was really worried that some of the magic would be gone on our next trip but she drew pictures of the Pooh characters to give them at our CP breakfast while we were in the airport. I took just her in November and I bought her a beanie size Pooh one day. We were on the TTA and she was holding Pooh and telling him what everything was. It's one of my favorite pictures from that trip-she still feels the magic!
Yep, I think you understood what I was saying!

I am planning on writing a letter. I think that might be more effective.

I can't believe how awful those FGIT were! That's just terrible. I definitely think you should write a letter. I would include some of those non-smiling pictures in it too.
Good idea, I think I will do that.
WHEW!! I just read the entire TR, well up to date at least!! I just don't understand how they can hire someone to be a CM or photographer that clearly does not have the Disney Magic. Go figure!!! When we were at BBB in December, our FGMiT were great.

Now, I'm off to read Heather's side of the store :D
HEY Deann!!! Nice to see you here! I'm glad you guys had such wonderful FGITs! Every little girl should get one as wonderful as Susan was!

I've been thinking about this since I read your sisters trip report. How disappointing that the FGIT were so grumpy and didn't make the experience the best it could have been for all the girls.

So true! I just wish it didn't cost me $240 for the laugh! ;)

You are a funny one Sarah!!! I'm pretty skilled with the bobbi pins, glitter and hair gel myself!!! Maybe we could start our own little BBB right here in town!

That stinks about the BBB!

When we did the Photopass last year, I think we got better pictures than this year. And last year, there were so many more photopass photographers around! This year we actually had to go searching for them! At least with that though, you don't have to pay for them if you don't like it. They should do the same with BBB! Maybe then everyone would put their best foot forward!

Because of your TR now I havew dh at work looking for the Disney digi cameras. We found the same one you have for only 17.88 and a Mini one for 3.48. The reviews I read wernt the best but like Dh said for that price. He wont complain if they get lost :rotfl2: I am sorry the FGIT's were duds.

We are going down soon and Katie wanted to do BBB but I know Madi would too and she is still too young so I am going to make them up at the Villa. ;)

Awwww they all looked so cute in their customs and all made up from the BBB. Sorry the experience wasn't very magical for all of them! I would have pulled those FGMIT's aside and said, "look you better get a flippin' smile on your face right now or else..."....:rotfl2: JUST KIDDING....I am too shy and nice!!!! But I would have been thinking it and would have been giving them the evil eye....lol :lmao:

Geez, what grumpy FGMIT. Susan sounds wonderful though! I think that it's great that you're going to write a letter.

I love your update! What a snotty photopass photographer! I had mine taking pictures of 3 kids at once and he didn't complain. I was impressed he kept them all straight and didn't miss a reveal--he even got some of Lily who wasn't even getting made up, that's right 4 kids at once, didn't even ask him to photograph Lily, no problem. Our FGITs were just okay, at least compared to Susan :rotfl2: But truly their job should not be "put the hair up, do the makeup" it should be "make the little girl feel like a princess" I didn't really think about it until I read both of your trippies. I love the pictures of Tessa's reveal with Heather laughing in the background. Lydia looks so sweet. All the girls looked beautiful. Courtney's hair looked just like Jayden's did! Jayden's hair is a little lighter than the hairpiece she chose, but she wanted her hair "brown like Belle's" so that made sense once she explained it so I know what you mean about Casey's hair.

your girls are so beautiful!!! I'm so glad that Lyddy had a good time and a decent FGIT...those other so-called FGIT's looked like SHREK....and Shrek does NOT belong at the BBB!

I loved seeing you and your mom in the background of the pictures! You look just as excited as the girls!!!

can't wait to see what comes next!!!:goodvibes

So true! I just wish it didn't cost me $240 for the laugh! ;)!

Ouch!!! All I can say is that all of those girls will continue to always feel special because their Mom/Aunt loved them so much she wanted to do that for them!!! (((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))) You definately deserved the gold crown that day!!!

As she was finishing up with Lydia, she leaned down and whispered to her,

"Now you need to make a wish because at the Magic Kingdom ANY dream can come true!"

In that moment, I truly and completely believed her! I really did!

And, the tears started flowing....

:o :worried:

That is just so sweet! I want her to do my hair now!!!!

Aww, thanks! I was just happy to do something nice for these girls. By neices and nephew are just barely below my own babies in my heart. :lovestruc

No, you see, in typical oldest sister fashion, I am patientally waiting for my little baby sister to catch up to me, while I sit back and let her bask in the glory of posting her trip report update first, even though my verion of this day was written weeks ago! (yes, actually, that is true.)

So, now that she has had some time to bask, without much further adoo, I present to you, My latest installment:

On the way to Expodition Hall, we spotted the Fairy Godmother, so we stopped to get her autograph. The FG's handler saw Lydia and exclaimed, "GISELLE!!! I didn't know you were going to be here today!" Lydia beamed, and so did I! I told the handler how happy I was that she knew who she was suppose to be. The handler said, "Of course I did, she looks just like her!" At which point, I had to tell her that I had made the dress, without a pattern...and before the DVD came out. (me, fish for compliments? never!)

As the girls were in line, look who walked up!!!

so cool!!!

They started pointing at Tessa and Arminda in their Cinderella dresses:

Then, they noticed Sawyer, in his Prince Charming outfit!!!

f7a22bc8.jpg

They exclaimed over him and made a great big fuss!!! It was so cool! Unfortunately, no one got any good pictures of this! And, or course, they were doing that just as the girls reached the front of the Fairy Godmother's line!

As we started walking to Expodition Hall, Lydia started crying, so I stopped to see what was wrong.

f669afe9.jpg

It seems that the Fairy Godmother had signed every one's book except for hers. I told her that we would be seeing the FG at dinner and she could get her autograph then. This made her happier.

So, we continued on our way. My Mom kept telling me to "Lead the way!"

Which caused me much stress.

Yeah, I know, I'm weird.

I really don't like all the pressure that being the designated "leader" puts upon me.

Should we go left around the castle?

Should we go right?

Should we go by the Crystal Palace or take the pathway to the left of Adventureland?

Walk IN Main St. or walk on the sidewalk???

If I tell them the wrong thing, will everyone be mad at me????

AHHHHH!!!

I don't know!!

(Just thinking about it now, makes me rather stressed!)

However, I have no problem telling Brian where to go.

I mean giving him directions!! Geesh! What did you guys think I meant???

I had told them we were all heading to the end of Main St., so I figured we all pretty much knew where we were going anyways. I then noticed that Brian was not with us, so I asked if anyone has seen him. No one knew where he was, so I stopped to wait for him.

Brian does this, he doesn't think much of taking off, or stopping without telling anyone. I have learned to not get upset about it. He always finds me. But, I wasn't sure if he knew where we were going, so I thought I'd better wait for him. We had time to sit down for a bit while we waited....and waited, and waited a little more. Finally, Brian sauntered down the path, and we were once again on our way, with me "leading" the way.

Here are Mom and David walking down Main St. aren't they cute!

9279d89c.jpg

We decided to sit by Goofy for a minute and take some pictures:

e359ade0.jpg

It was nice that David had this hat, because he was SOOOO easy to spot in a crowd! For some reason, there weren't a lot of other people wearing heavy Goofy hats in the 90 degree heat. Go figure....

When we went inside Expodition Hall, we were greeted by a CM, who seemed to know what we were doing there. I wonder how?

He gathered us around, and then, said, "Ok, I know who you are suppose to be," as he pointed to Courtney in her Snow White, "and who YOU are suppose to be," pointing to Tessa in her Mice Made Pink Cinderella dress, "and who you are," pointing to Arminda in her silver Cinderella Fairy Godmother made dress "but, WHO are you and you?" he said, in a really not very nice manner pointing to Casey and Lydia. I replied, "This is Giselle, and this is Jasmine." This is when I almost smacked him for the first time, because he replied, "Giselle? I don't know who you are and Jasmine in her pajamas!" I was pretty upset about that, for me and for Casey. Casey was pretty proud of her Jasmine costume, and I thought she made a very pretty modest Jasmine. Not to mention that I had sewn the outfit, and I was not happy that he called it pajamas. I was on the brink of tears actually. I looked over at Heather and saw that she was just as unhappy about it as me. So, for the rest of the day, I felt somewhat guilty about making my dear sweet unsuspecting niece pajamas instead of a princess outfit.

We were then led back to the photo shoot area. There was a little girl ahead of us, and another couple with their daughter waiting. The CM stood us in front of the other couple. The couple told the CM that they had been there first, and could they please go ahead of us. Apparently, they had viewed their pictures, and were not happy with them, so they wanted them redone. The CM was pretty rude to them, although I don't remember what he said. Heather then walked over to the couple and assured them that we would let them go before us. They seemed very relieved and happy to hear that. Apparently, because the other family had not gone directly to this CM, he felt that they didn't deserve to be helped?

When it was time for us, the photographer asked if we just wanted to do a group shot. We told him that we wanted each girl individually too. He seemed a little peeved about that. But by golly, we paid for every girl to have the entire experience, and we wanted them to have it! First though, we tried to get a group shot of all the girls and Sawyer. Sawyer wasn't feeling it, so we decided to try just him alone. Once he realized that he had all of our attention, he started really hamming it up!! He was jumping, strutting, and doing some karate moves!! Too cute!

2429616d.jpg

90798c01.jpg

I won't go into a lot of details, but we were NOT happy with the way the photographer and the CM that greeted us treated the girls. They pulled them and pushed them, and got upset with them when they didn't pose just so. They were simply AWFUL. Tessa kept making a most horrible face and Heather kept trying to get her to smile naturally. We repeatedly asked the CMs to please don't tell her to smile, because as soon as they told her that she looked like this:

a05fcfd1.jpg

and this

783e1171.jpg

Now TELL ME, HOW did the photographer possibly think he was getting good picturse??????? This is a GORGEOUS child! And, well, look at those pictures!

(I have to add that while I was posting these pictures, Brian looked over at the computer and said, "WHO is that!?" when I told him it was Tessa he said, "NO WAY! That doesn't look anything like Tessa! Tessa is beautiful." )

When she stopped smiling though, we got some pretty pictures.

e7ddd74e.jpg

5fd04d5b.jpg

I think she looks particuarly pretty in this picture,

c736b89e.jpg

and her final picture

b5760990.jpg

Throughout all 5 girls shoots, we repeatedly asked the CMs to NOT tell the girls to smile, because that did not result in a natural or pretty look for any of them! The girls would be smiling their natural pretty smiles, and the CM would tell them to "Smile" and we would get this:

f98aa7ef.jpg

and this

3150f9da.jpg

or this

54388a58.jpg

It was frustrating! Heather got so upset with the way they were treating the girls that she had to leave.

My Dad was behind the photographers taking pictures after them, and he was getting upset with the photographers too. I was wishing that the CMS would go away and just let my Dad take the pictures! By the end of it all, we were not hiding our frustration from the photographers!

After Tessa's shoot, it was Lydia's turn, we got some pretty good pictures of her, although you can see how nervous she was in some of them:

I had actually remembered to bring Lydia's fancy shoes for the photo shoot.

After Lydia, it was Arminda's turn:

Herw wern't horrible, but they aren't the best. If the photographer would have stopped telling her to "Smile BIG!" I think they all would have been ok.

3f61ca8c.jpg

cb0d02ab.jpg

I had brought Arminda some fancy shoes, but I forgot them in the van, so she is wearing her Crocs!

798058c1.jpg

Not bad, not great though, she is much prettier than these pictures make her look.

After Arminda came Casey:

After the horrible first few shots, we convinced Casey to not listen to the photographer and his assistant and we got some decent pictures:

5ad335f8.jpg

I like this picture, just because it looks like she is about to give the stupid (OOOOHH!!!! I said STUPID!) photographer a piece of her mind!

00808da4.jpg

And her final picture:

0b5fd099.jpg

then Courtney. It didn't take long to convince Courtney not to listen to the photographer and the assistant, so I really like some of these pictures:

Look at those eyes!

56fb7d4e.jpg

Funny thing though, up until courtney was about 5 or 6, she had really BLUE eyes, then one day I looked at her and they were GREEN! It was very odd.

ef137358.jpg

Doesn't she look pretty.

At one point, another CM brought a little girl and her family back and told the photographer that the family would like their pictures redone because the little girl was not smiling in any of the pictures. The photographer replied in a chilly and acidic tone, "They don't even speak English, I can't get her to smile." I was shocked at the rudeness and extreme prejudice! The little girl was very cute, and was smiling at us when we smiled at her.

By this time, I was almost shaking with frustration at these guys!

When we were finally done with all our girls, we told the CM that we wanted a group shot. The CM was annoyed, and became even more so when we realized that Tessa was not there. We quickly looked around for her and didn't see her. The Photographer told us in a rude tone, that we would just have to try and come back later, because he was not going to wait any longer. Obviously, we didn't want to hold up everyone else, but the attitude of this CM was decidedly UN-disneylike! Definitely NOT a "What would Walt Do" moment!

As soon as we left, Heather walked in with Tessa, so we went back to the photographer.

8e0e44b2.jpg

We had the pictures taken, and a few of the people that were in line whispered to us about how rude the photographer was being. It really was disappointing. The entire experience was not what I had paid for. I am pretty skilled at getting my daughter's hair up in a bun and putting glitter on them. What I had paid for was a magical experience from the FGIT and the photographers. I wanted each and every girl to be treated like and feel like a princess, isn't that what BBB is really about???? We've had more magical moments at the Barber Shop for $7

Florida2200741460.jpg

(pretty, don't you think?)

Up next: A parting of the ways and possibly some WICKEDNESS!!!......
