Love the update Teresa! The girls all looked beautiful! And Sawyer was quite the charming prince! I love Lydia's photos. A letter of complaint? You could write a petition of complaint! You'd have lots of signers here! :rotfl: I had felt bad during our trip because we did not have time to get to the photo studio after we did BBB, but now I realize that is a GOOD thing. And you totally crackied me up with your "Line Leader Anxiety" (yes, it's now an official condition--right Miss Cammie? And you've been diagnosed. :rotfl2: I think I did not get enough sleep last night :bitelip: :hyper:

I wish that your BBB and photography session had been better experiences!

The children all look beautiful and their outfits were fabulous!

I hope that your experiences with CM's improve as your trip goes on!

I really like your writing style, the pictures and your obvious love for your family!

I am appalled at how you were treated at the photo shoot! Please tell me that you will be reporting that somehow.

Thanks for the great installment. I'm still seething over your rude photographers... *Why* are they working at WDW? The girls all looked beautiful though. :lovestruc

You're making me think we'll do our photos in the Rose Garden instead of the Hall.

I asked about the Rose Garden for a photo shoot, but no one seemed to have a clue what I was talking about! :confused3 I was thinking I had imagined reading that they did that!

I have a short installment coming up soon!

During the photo shoot, Brian had went over to get his hair cut so I was going to head over to get him. We all decided to meet up in front of Expodition Hall at 3:30 to catch the boat to the Grand Floridian for our 4:30 lunch appointment.

My parents and David and Barbara and family decided to go get something to drink.

and Heather and Henry were somewhere making poor little Tessa look like THIS! :confused3

I am anxiously awaiting her explanation of that pitiful face in HER version of the trip report!!!!

And, I went over to get Brian in the barber shop,

Brian was coming out of the barber shop as I walked over. Last year, he got his head practically shaved, so I was a little concerned to see what he would look like. I was relieved to see that he had only gotten a trim, and he looked very nice. pheew!

Well, he's not getting his haircut in this picture, but he is cute!

Here he is getting his haircut:

Isn't he cute with the glitter in his hair!

As we were heading down Main Street, the kids spotted Pluto!
So, we grabbed the autograph books and stopped for a picture!

I love Lydia's smile in that one!

Brian and I decided to head over to Aladdin's carpets. Over the years, we have totally brainwashed,

I mean, convinced our kids that THIS was WAAAAY better than the Dumbo ride!!!

And, seriously, it is!

::yes::

You go up and down and tilt back and forth, and you might get squirted by a camel.

I mean REALLY what's NOT to like about this ride!!

Plus, the line is always so much shorter than the never ending, slow moving snail's pace of a Dumbo line!

I love this ride!
:thumbsup2

Corey made sure we got squirted by the camel, good boy that he is!

(Ok, I'll come clean, this picture is from last year! I couldn't find one from this year!)

After getting off Aladdin, Brian suggested going into The Swiss Family Tree House. For some reason, Brian always wants to go up here. It's sort of interesting, but I don't quite get the appeal of doing it EVERY year.

But, he seems to get a kick out of it, and it keeps him from suggesting the Tiki Birds, so we do it.

Brian and I went into see the Tiki Birds before the kids were born. We both hated it at the time. But, every few years, he brings up going in there again! Which, frankly, should be avoided at ALL costs!! I would rather play with Polly Pockets for three days straight than to sit through this show!:faint:

So, we were off to the tree house! OOOH BOY!!!:cool1:

PICT0166.JPG

Go up up up, then, go down down down.....

thrill a minute that Swiss Family Tree House!

Thrill.

A.

Minute!!!!!

(Ok, OK! I didn't take these pictures!! I got them from the internet!! I would have swore Arminda took pictures while we were in here, but I couldn't find them!)

At this point, I notice that Arminda's bun is looking a bit lose. I push a bobby pin or two back in place, and we head over to the Pirate Ride. That's what we've always called it, and probably always will.

I still think of Thunder Mountain as a "newer" ride. I remember the first year it was open, my parents tried to bribe and threaten my brother David to go on it. He was NOT into roller coasters! I remember waiting in line (I like to tell my kids about the olden days of Disney where there was not Fastpass and we actually had to WAIT in lines! They are always amazed!)and my brother being VERY upset about the whole thing. I don't remember if he actually made it on that year or not. I do remember my Mom being really annoyed with him though.

Where was I? Oh yeah, Pirate Ride. The sign out front said it was a 30 minute wait, and I about had myself a hissy fit.

I do NOT wait in lines!

STOMP!! STOMP!! STOMP!!

I DON'T I DON'T I DON'T!!!

We usually walk right on this ride, and I was really annoyed that it looked like we would actually be waiting. But, we got in line anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the line was really more like 5 minutes long. That, I can handle!

I like the Pirate Ride, I like it quite a bit!! I've always loved that little dip right before you get into the main part of the ride!!! I told the kids as I always do to hang on tight to get ready for the drop!!!! I love teasing them like that!

However, there was a family sitting behind us who had obviously never been on the ride before. Because, their conversation went something like this,

Is there a drop???

Did you hear what she said?

She said there was a DROP!

I didn't know there was a drop!!!
11.gif

Are we going to get wet??

Should I put my camera away?

I don't want my hair to get wet, is my hair going to get wet???!!!

:scared1: AHHHHHH!!!:scared1:

Then,lots of laughter,
:rotfl2:

but that was from me....:rotfl:

We all get a kick out of the pirate with the dirty leg! It's just a fun ride.

After getting of the Pirate Ride, we realized that it was 3:00, parade time! So, we headed to Expodition Hall to watch the parade and wait for the rest of our group. We found ourselves a perfect spot right in front of a group of little kids, and settled down in front of them to watch the parade...

NO!! I'm just kidding! We actually found a nice patch of empty curb and planted our behinds down. The curb was hot though, so Lydia stood up. Someone noticed her Giselle dress, which again made me very happy. I enjoyed the parade, but missed the ones where they would pull the kids out of the audience to participate. I took some pictures, and Corey took a video.

Corey thought this was really funny, so he took a picture of Pinocchio tethered to the float:

Mr. Disney!!!
S6300128.JPG

By the time the parade was done, it was just about 3:30, and we were shortly all gathered together again.

We were Off to see the stepsisters, the wonderful stepsisters of Cinderella... come on now, everybody sing!!.... (to the tune of "Off to see the Wizard")

We had decided to take the boat over to the Grand Floridian, so we headed over to the boat dock and found the right boat. At this time, I noticed that Arminda's bun was now coming COMPLETELY undone!!! GRRRRRR!!!! I tried redoing it without taking it out, but it just wasn't going to happen. So I took the entire bun out, and then tried to figure out how to roll it back into a bun. I think I look about as happy redoing the bun as the Fairy Godmother's in Training did doing it to begin with, don't yah think?
DSC07934.JPG

After several false moves, (and many thoughts running through my head about how much money I had just thrown out the window)I figured it out, and had her looking all pretty and fresh again.

So, not only did we NOT get a magical experience with the FGIT or the photographer, the bun that I had just paid $40 for had completely come undone after only a few hours. And, remember, we had gone on very tame rides!

Except for the giant drop in the Pirate Ride!!
:thumbsup2

While we were waiting in line, Sawyer thought it would be funny to throw his sippy cup over the fence and into the bushes. So, this provided us some further entertainment while we waited for the boat.

Not a picture of Sawyer and his cup, but this is us waiting, because I just know you all wanted to see how exciting it was!

hmm, Lydia is looking at something over the fence there, maybe it was Sawyer's cup!

The boat arrived quite quickly actually.

So, we boarded the boat, and we were on our way to see us some WICKED stepsisters!!!!! YEE HAAA!!!

Arminda took some pictures:

I was beyond excited about this meal!!! I had read so many wonderful reports of these awful, evil, WICKED, wonderfully hilarious stepsisters!!! OH BOY!! I was excited! And, I was pretty excited to see Prince Charming too!! hehehe

Oh, yeah, and that blond girl...

whats her name again??? :confused3

We were all feeling the excitement as we stepped off the boat!

Up NEXT: WICKEDNESS!!! (Really, this time!)

I can't wait to read your next installment. We're eating with the stepsisters in September. I want to read all about it! Oh, yeah, and my girls want to go to BBB. Hmmm....maybe I should cancel those reservations!

We want Wickedness! We want WICKEDNESS!!! Come on now... don't make us wait any longer! We've been so patient up to this point!

Did you ever get Sawyer's sippy cup?

Garsh....note to self....just take the kids to the Barbershop and get some glitter and skip BBB!!! Hahahaha ;) You cracked me up about the SFTH. (swiss family tree house)...thrill a minute :rotfl2: I tell you what though, that drop in the PoTC stayed with me my whole life...I considered it my first rollercoaster! I distinctly remember going on it with my mom when I was little....ahhhh memories! Geeeee, I hope you retrieved Sawyers sippy cup! I love taking the boatride across....so fun!
I really enjoyed the update!!! :thumbsup2 I hope lunch was amazing!!! ;)

Excellent updates! :thumbsup2

Smart girl avoiding those birds on an acid trip. Oy.

Looking forward to more! :wizard:

What do you mean you don't like the Tiki tiki tiki room:rotfl: It is funny to hear what rides/shows every one else loves and doesn't like. Tiki room isn't one of my favs but my kids like singing the song.

Swiss family Tree house must be a guy thing my DH wants to do that every yr too. We escaped it last trip but this trip he says him and his coo skin cap are going there. :lmao:

I think it is great Cory likes WDW and isn't afraid to get into it at 15! I hope my son still loves it at 15 and beyond esp since we are now dvc members he is going to be going there until he is 55!:rotfl:

Can't wait to read more!

Awesome update!!!! Sorry that the bun fell, that whole experience just keeps giving...lol You have to tell us about the stepsisters! I need wickedness!!!!!!!!!

Well, I AM glad to see the day is getting better but Heather made my beautiful niece cry and I am not very happy about that...she has some splainin' to do!

Lots of people have GREAT experiences at BBB, and Lydia did have a wonderful FGIT. I'm torn as to whether or not I would do it again. If it was cheaper I might. I'm tempted to try it again, just to provide Arminda with the experience that she missed, but what if we just got more duds???? I was looking at some different pictures last night, and the excitement and anticipateion on Arminda's face right before they started her makeover just makes me cry, knowing how it all turned out! :worried: I want her to have the MAGIC!

We want Wickedness! We want WICKEDNESS!!! Come on now... don't make us wait any longer! We've been so patient up to this point!

OOH, you will have to wait for Heather's installment to find out about the sippy cup!!! And, I can't get all ahead of my dear little sister! Just rest assured that we had a WONDERFUL and MAGICAL time at 1900 Park Fare! I can't wait to tell you guys all about it!!!

I think that Arminda had just as good of a time at the Barber Shop, but Lydia had a great BBB experience. It's a risk, that's for sure!

You are making ME laugh about the Pirate Ride drop!

I wish my pictures weren't so little! I had them uploaded to a different site, then transferred them to Photobucket, and I must have hit the wrong setting! So, they are quite tiny!

Excellent updates! :thumbsup2

I took your advice Sareah!!! NO TIKI BIRDS!

You just wanted to make that song run through my head all day, didn't you! I had no idea you were evil!!! :stir:

Corey is a very cool 16 (his birthday was the other week) year old! I think he will always love Disney! Seriously, he has no choice in the matter!

I'm with Karebear....we need some WICKEDNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's coming, it's coming!!! I haven't wrote it yet! ;)

Awesome update!!!! Sorry that the bun fell, that whole experience just keeps giving...lol You have to tell us about the stepsisters! I need wickedness!!!!!!!!!
:lmao: Yep, it did!

The stepsisters were great, I just hope my retelling it is interesting!

Well, I AM glad to see the day is getting better but Heather made my beautiful niece cry and I am not very happy about that...she has some splainin' to do!

I KNOW!!! How dare she!

Brian went to the Barber shop right? Can you just walk in? I would love the boys to go get their cut there when we go. Tell Brian he looked marvelous with the glitter in his hair. :thumbsup2 Although I do love Aladdin carpet ride, I love Dumbo even more. I liked the Tiki Room too but the boys hated the storm. My DH never wants to walk up the stair for the Swiss Family Treehouse, I'm the one that never did so I always suggest it:rotfl2: I wish I could have heard that woman on PotC ride, :lmao: That must have been funny.

So cool that Cinderella noticed her - I cried looking at the picture. Was she excited too.
DSCF2769.jpg

I too am worried about Sawyer's sippy cup, was it ever recovered?

I can't wait to hear about eating with the sista's

Great update! I just went to the tiki room at DLR and as many times as I have been to Disneyland, that is the first visit to the tiki room in my memory. It may just be 30 years before I go again :rotfl2: BUT it was really nicely air conditioned :thumbsup2
