Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination Disney HeatherSue's(best)version OVER1/27

I am finally all caught up, and loving it!! Thanks for writing!!

Thanks for reading!!!

Sounds like you had a fun and relaxing day too!! I love DTD too!
They really have fun landscaping there! Lots of photo ops!
mmmmmm chocolate and free chocolate!! :woohoo:
That lime picture- You are so mean :lmao: We do that sometimes too.
Teresa-I never hear of a kid that didn't like water
   for kid-free outlet shopping! I wish we had a Disney shopping outlet up around here!!
Yay for Sawyer warming up to the pool!
What a fun pool party!!!
Looks like you all had a great day!!
It was a good day! I especially loved the child free shopping!!! :rotfl:

I just found your trip report and finished it all in one sitting (slow at work) -- It is great. I love all the clothes you have made. you are very talented. I am going to start reading your sisters report tomorrow (yeah - I anticipate another slow day)...:rotfl2: Your kids are adorable!!
Wow! It must have been a slow day!! Thanks for reading!! It always makes my day when I get a new reader. :cloud9:

Of course I'm reading your TR!!! Just from the comments you've made on mine you've made me laugh and cry!!! So I've come over to read all about your trip. As soon as I can, I'm going to start on your sis's, too!! We DEFINITELY relate in the things we find humorous!!! I have just cracked up over and over again reading yours. You're not sarcastic at all, are you?? I totally get snort-laughing!!

I'm glad for your affirmation about grumpy CMs!!! I felt like I'd get myself in trouble if I mentioned it on this board because so many go on and on about how wonderful they are (and there are many, many great ones, I know). But we experienced so much lack of enthusiasm that I couldn't pretend otherwise. Thankfully I've learned that we aren't the only ones to feel that way! None of this will keep me from going back, though!

Love LOVE LOVE your TR!!!
My sister is pretty darn funny, too. Although, she's trying to make everyone think she's "Little Miss Merry Sunshine", so she has kept her sarcasm to a minimum in her TR. ;)

Didn't want to quote the whole thing but re: If John and I had gone to high school together -
He was a football player. So I'm pretty sure had he been at MY high school, I wouldn't have had a chance with him.
He says that's not true, because he thinks I'm beautiful (wow!)

But, there is also the fact that he was a sophomore when I was a senior, and you know there is NO way I'd have dated a sophomore! LOL
Well...he is pretty cute. I might have.

Good thing we met them outside of high school! LOL

Things always have a way of working out, don't they? John has a point, he'd have liked you anyway, geek and all!! He was just a big 'ol handsome geek hiding inside of a football uniform anyway! :rotfl:

You know him tooooooo well. :lmao:

We always tell him there are only two kinds of geeks: geeks, and geeks in denial. LOL
He says "Is Indiana Jones a Geek?"
Us: "YES."
John: "What about James Bond?"
Us: "Well...I bet he was in High School."
One of these days John will fully embrace his "Geekness" and the world will be a better, more peaceful place. :thumbsup2

Sarah: Does it make him an even bigger geek that he doesn't think he's a geek? :lmao:

Would someone kick me in the butt and tell me to write the next segment already! I have all the pictures uploaded, but I keep finding other stuff to do!

Sarah: Does it make him an even bigger geek that he doesn't think he's a geek? :lmao:

Absolutely! People think that the ones with the taped glasses and pocket protectors are geeks, but those are actually nerds.
Geeks can be geeky and cool too. LOL

Booooooooot! LOL [And I have large feet, so you had better go with that momentum!]

I had to bring Bitsy (one of my seven children whom I take to WDW) home from church with some digestive "issues," so I had time to update my trip report, "Hicks on Holidy, Done Brung the Kinfolk" yesterday.

Heather I love DTD shopping too. Last time I wanted so bad to get a box of Mr. Potato Head parts but DH wouldn't let me because the boys didn't even play with the one we had home:confused3 and his point was? Now they have My Little Pony, that will be a must do for DD this time. I love Tessa's Minnie dress too. Your outfit was cute too. Your capri's are too cute.

Thanks for the nerd/geek tutorial! You should have kicked me a little harder because it sure took me a while to write this next installment!

Those Ponies are so cool! I just love stuffing that box as full as I can!

Thanks for the compliments!

There's a next installment written? Does that mean I should stay up and wait for it? :confused3

May 13, Animal Kingdom and Prime Time Cafe

We woke up in the morning feeling rested and happy. I spent a few moments just looking at all of my wonderful bargains from the day before *sigh*.

I went out to the living room where Tessa was watching tv. She had the remote in her hand and she said "Can you believe this? You can't pause anything on this tv!" :rotfl:
Tivo Tessie was un-pleased with watching "live tv".

I don't remember why, but I know that we didn't get to the parks at the same time as the rest of the family.

Here's a fascinating picture of the sign and the rear-view mirror of our minivan. I was going for artistic with a "never look back" kind of thing. ::yes::

DSC08897_640x480.jpg

Tessa brought her baby Simba with her because she wanted him to see the Lion King show. She was also wearing her baby Simba dress, which was one of the first things I ever made her.

I LOVE how they have characters right there at the entrance to Animal Kingdom! The lines usually aren't too long and it's great to have them right there. It gets you right into that Disney mood! We were excited to see 2 characters from The Lion King right there!!

Tessa got Rafiki's autograph. Sawyer was pointing at him, but that was about as close as he wanted to get.

DSC08900_360x480.jpg

Rafiki was so cool! He took her Baby Simba and reenacted the "Circle of Life" scene from the movie. It was too cute!

DSC08902_360x480.jpg

He kept pointing at her dress and motioning to her baby Simba. Tessa was really excited about it!

DSC08905_360x480.jpg

Now, Timon is okay. But, I love me some Pumbaa!! He reminds me of a dog I used to have named Maggie. She was a stinky, snorty, chubby, but incredibly sweet, little dog. She was such a Pumbaa. So, I really wish there was a way to "meet" Pumbaa. But, it would be kinda freaky if he was walking around on 2 legs or something. Anyway, next we met Timon.

DSC08909_640x480.jpg

Timon kept hugging and kissing Baby Simba and he insisted on holding him for the pictures. I'm pretty sure Tessa was concerned that he was going to steal her Simba.

DSC08910_360x480.jpg

So, she quickly got him back! :lmao:

DSC08911_360x480.jpg

Tessa then spotted Pocahontas and started pointing and jumping up and down yelling "Pocahontas!! I don't have her autograph!! I've never met her!!!" So, of course we got her autograph!

DSC08912_640x480.jpg

It's funny, but Sawyer seemed more scared of the face characters than the other ones!

Although Henry was more than willing to get in the picture with Pocahontas, I insisted that he take the picture. ;)

DSC08914_640x480.jpg

Just as we were about to enter the park, Flik walked up! Man, is he ever creepy looking! A Bug's Life is one of my least favorite Disney movies. But, Tessa wanted to get a picture of the big bug, even if she didn't know who he was.

DSC08916_640x480.jpg

Poor Sawyer is afraid of bugs and I make him get his picture taken with the biggest bug he's ever seen!

We finally made it into the park and Mom called on the cell phone. We planned on meeting the rest of the family at The Lion King show. I LOVE this show. Teresa hates this show. It's one of the few things we don't agree on. I was looking forward to sitting next to her and opening her eyes to the wonderfulness that is The Lion King Show.

On our way over there, we saw a few photopass photographers, so we had our pics taken. Here I am trying to get Sawyer to take his hand off "the girls". I didn't crop this picture at all. The photographer cut the top off Henry's head all by himself!

image628_319x480.jpg

Okay, this one's a little better.

image629_319x480.jpg

I call this picture "Holding Baby Simba makes me constipated".

image631_342x480.jpg

We had this same shot taken when we were here in 2006, but we were too cheap to buy the photopass picture. So, I just Disney-fied the picture I took myself.

2-2-06holdingbabysimba.jpg

Here's a picture of us in front of the tree of life from our 2006 trip. I was pregnant with Sawyer and I made a shirt that has my name and then on my stomach it says "Coming June 2006- Sawyer!"

c6b0.jpg

Okay, back to the more recent past.

I thought this one was pretty nice. I wanted to get Sawyer out of the stroller, but the photographer seemed to be in a bit of a rush. So, we left him in.

image634_342x480.jpg

Apparently, the photographer didn't think that Sawyer even deserved to be in the picture, because here's the one he took next!

image636_319x480.jpg

I don't know why this picture bothers me so much, but it does! Why would he just cut my kid out of the picture?! Grrr.....

After much eye rolling from Henry over all the pictures we had taken, we got over to the LK show. We were told that we had time to go see the Pocahontas show first. We saw this show with Tessa when she was almost 3 and none of us were impressed. That is another thing Teresa and I disagree on. She loves the Pocahontas show. Anyway, going to see the show sounded better than waiting in line to get into The Lion King. So, we headed over there.

I immediately noticed that there was a tarp like thing over the seating area. I'm almost sure that wasn't there in February of '06. Was it? I remember frying in the sun while watching this show and that was one of the reasons I didn't like it!

Tessa wanted to sit up front with the other kids, but she was really nervous about it. So, I told her to go sit by another little girl that was there by herself. I told her to be friends with her. So, she did! She sat by her and said "My name is Tessa. What's your name?" They talked for quite a while and the little girl gave Tessa directions to her house. She lives in the same town as Grandma, but you have to turn that way first and then you'll see her house on the corner. You'd have to be an idiot not to be able to follow those directions! ;) Tessa talked about that little girl even after we got home. "Mom, when are we going to see that little girl from the Pocahontas show? Do you remember where she lives?" :rotfl:

DSC08926_360x480.jpg

I must say, this was a GORGEOUS Pocahontas. If she were at the entrance, I think Henry would have insisted on being in the picture. :lmao:

DSC08925_360x480.jpg

Sawyer LOVED the show. He kept pointing at the animals and he would get excited when the different ones would come out.

DSC08927_360x480.jpg

Nope, didn't get a picture of Sawyer!

During the show, my cell phone rang. I tried to be sly about answering it. But, Dad couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear him at all. I kept trying to tell him that we were at the Pocahontas show and that we'd meet him at the LK show before it starts. I don't think he ever heard me. There was a lot of "Huh? What?" from both ends. But, I'd already told mom we'd meet her outside the show.

We headed over there and looked for the family. But, they weren't out there. I called Dad again and after a few "Huh? What?"s I gathered that they had already went inside. So, we went in. I kept looking around for them because I was really hoping we could sit together. But, I couldn't find them. I called Dad again to ask where they were sitting. It was mostly "Huh? What?", but I did hear him say that they were sitting by the door. Um...Dad...there are doors next to each set of bleachers! So, I never did find them. But, I spent a lot of time scanning the crowd.

Sawyer was unimpressed with the show. He was whiny and wiggly and ready for a nap. So, he kept trying to get on the floor. But, I didn't want him under there, so I kept fighting him to stay on the seat. Tessa had never seen the show before because she did the same thing the last time we were here! She loved it! Sawyer did watch for a few minutes.

DSC08932_640x480.jpg

I must say, I wasn't NEARLY as impressed with the show this time. The singing was "off". It just didn't sound good. Nothing was quite as good as the last time. It seemed like they were all a little tired. Hopefully it'll be better next time.

After the show let out, we spotted the family and tried to make our way over to them. That wasn't too easy because there were a LOT of people filing out of there. By the time we caught up with them, they were in line to see Minnie Mouse. I didn't want to cut in front of all the people that were in line behind them, so I just sent Tessa up there to be with them while we went over and waited in the shorter line for Goofy. Mickey and Minnie had dissed us at Chef Mickeys and I don't easily forgive. :snooty:

Meeting Goofy was pretty cool because Sawyer "almost" gave him five. He backed out at the last second, though. I'm including this picture just because Henry looks so cute.

IMG_1636_640x426.jpg

I have no idea what, but it looks like Sawyer has something in his mouth. If I were a betting woman, I'd say it was a cracker.

image664_640x457.jpg

After we met Goofy, we watched the family interact with Minnie. It appears she likes them better when I'm not with them. Whatever, I'm not hurt. *sniffle* *sniffle*

image653_319x480.jpg

image656_640x425.jpg

image659_640x425.jpg

Did you guys notice Teresa's outfit?? That's right, she's Snow White!! She got yellow capris at Walmart and then added red ribbons to the sleeves of a blue t-shirt. Voila- Snow White! She looked so stinkin' cute!

While we were waiting for them to meet Minnie, I heard a guy playing guitar and singing songs about people. It made me think of CastleCreations (Elisa) She posted a youtube video of this guy singing to them. It was really cute!

We all gathered together again and were going to head over to It's Tough to Be a Bug. We heard a plane above and we got this message.

IMG_1655_640x426.jpg

The full message was "Jesus loves you" with a little smiley face. The kids were quite impressed!

Henry decided to sit out It's Tough To Be a Bug with Sawyer. I think that was probably a good idea seeing as how he'd already been tortured by bugs in the pool and a giant bug on this vacation.

The show was a little scary for Tessa. She climbed into mom's lap and buried her head in her shoulder during the bug spray part. She says she liked it, but I don't know if she really did. I was surprised by the bugs running under your seat at the end!

After the show, we pulled over for a photopass opportunity. We pre-paid for that badboy and we were going to take advantage of it!

image668_319x480.jpg

I particularly like Arminda's expression in this one...yah think it was a bit bright?

image669_640x457.jpg

We have one of these from way back in 2004.

fe61.jpg

*sigh* the kids have grown so much. Unfortunately, so have I. :sad2:

We headed over to Africa where Sawyer was digging the music. I just loved the way his little arm was dancing.

We also saw her somewhere.

IMG_1674_640x426.jpg

Yeah lady, you gotta do more than that to impress me. It was much neater when she tried to blend in and surprise you a little more instead of strutting down the street like she owns the place.

We hopped aboard the train to go back to the conservation station. Actually, we folded up the stroller and waited forever for a train to go back to the conservation station. My mom loves this part of Animal Kingdom. I think it's cute. But, it seems like a lot of work to get back there, for very little pay-off.

But, we were in luck! We had entertainment on the train. Tessa decided to serenade us with "Can you feel the love tonight". She likes to sing this song from her bedroom at night and tell Henry and I we are free to smooch on the couch. :rotfl: Lydia wanted to join in, but she gets nervous about these things.

Then, we snapped some pictures to pass the time.

DSC08948_640x480.jpg

When we got over to the other train station, the girls decided to climb all over this elephant thing. I'm pretty sure the other little girl in these pictures was named Tessa, too. We don't hear that name too often, so that was neat!

The kids spent some time doing the "oh so fun" activites on the way back to the building. Tessa and Lydia posed for a pic with Rafiki. He was looking a bit wooden, though. :confused3

DSC08958_360x480.jpg

Sawyer was so cute! He wanted a picture there, too. So, he stood and posed for it. This is really something because he never volunteers for photos!

DSC08960_360x480.jpg

We eventually made our way into the building and Tessa immediately had to use the bathroom. She was pretty entertained with the animal sounds in the bathroom and I was pretty entertained by the "poop facts" on the door. I believe mine gave out valuable information about the dung beetle. Fascinating stuff!

DSC08964_360x480.jpg

There was a little learning session with an exotic animal when we entered the main part of the building. So, the kids sat and watched it. It was an odd little creature with fuzzy soft hair, hardly any tail at all, and long ears.

IMG_1698_640x426.jpg

The kids were fascinated.

IMG_1699_640x426.jpg

So were the adults.

IMG_1702_640x426.jpg

Sawyer wasn't interested, so I chased him around while he explored the area.

Tessa LOOOVES the goats, so we went outside to do some good old fashioned goat brushin'.

DSC08984_640x480.jpg

It'd be nice if there were some shade for the humans back there. It's always blazing hot!!

DSC08983_640x480.jpg

Where's me a goat to brush?

DSC08979_360x480.jpg

DSC08986_360x480.jpg

After a while, we were able to coax the kids away. Then, we spotted THE TALKING TRASH CAN!!!!

The talking trash can was THE highlight of Tessa's trip in '06. She has never stopped talking about him and how he even knew her name (it was on her shirt, but I'm sure that's not how he knew or anything). She was just beside herself! She ran up to him and started yakking.

DSC08972_640x480.jpg

Guess what? I have it on video!!!

Yep, we love us some talkin' trash can!

Right around this time, we thought we should head over to Disney Studios for our reservations at Prime Time Cafe. This was the one and only time on this vacation that I used my park hopper feature!

It was too hard trying to maneuver through this park with such a big group. So, we split up and decided to meet at Disney Studios.

On our way out, we saw Terk standing around kicking the dirt with her feet. No one was in line to see her!! I happen to really like Terk, so we went over there. She immediately started fawning over my husband. She wanted to kiss him and hold onto his arm. I do believe she felled in love.

DSC08990_360x480.jpg

I honestly thought she was a boy before this encounter.

DSC08989_360x480.jpg

We saw another photopass photographer and I wanted to try the Baby Simba picture again because I knew the first ones didn't turn out too well. Plus, I got to be in this one!

image677_342x480.jpg

We also got one of just me and Tessa that I really like.

image673_342x480.jpg

We weaved our way out of the park and got on the tram. I spotted Teresa and the gang walking to their car. Look at Teresa's cute little parasol with her name on it!

We managed to arrive at Disney Studios around the same time. Mom's such a rebel.

IMG_1729_640x426.jpg

We all got our picture taken by the photopass photographer (nearing the end of vacation, had to get our money's worth).

image680_640x425.jpg

Another priceless expression from the darling Arminda. She was really trying hard to keep her eyes open!

image682_640x456.jpg

A few seconds later, I noticed that Henry wasn't with our group. I looked over and here's where he was.

DSC08995_360x480.jpg

It was just about time for our ressie, so we headed on over to the Prime Time Cafe.

DSC08997_640x480.jpg

I'd never been there, so I was surprised by the decor! It looked like it could have been my grandma's old living room! It was pretty funny!

IMG_1743_640x426.jpg

We were early, but we didn't have to wait long at all for our table. We were seated quickly and assigned a "Mom".

She was nice enough, but seemed a little weary of the "schtick". I didn't get a picture of her, but here's the rest of us.

IMG_1735_319x480.jpg

IMG_1736_640x426.jpg

IMG_1737_640x426.jpg

Looks like Henry's saying "Heyyyy!!"

IMG_1739_640x426.jpg

Tessa entertained herself by trying the Equal again.

IMG_1742_640x426.jpg

I just love the way Teresa is looking at her in that picture.

Sawyer tried it again, too. My kids just don't learn!

DSC08999_640x480.jpg

Our "Mom" told us to come up with 14 (I think) animated Disney movies that had 1 word titles. We came up with 14 of them. But, she nixed The Aristocats (I KNEW it had "the" in it), Wall-E (because it wasn't out yet), and another one I can't remember. It was fun to try and come up with them, though.

I blatantly put my elbows on the table for the majority of the time. But, she didn't get after me too much.

I ordered meatloaf and everyone else ordered other stuff. Let me tell yah, everyone else had a HEAPING plate full of food. I had one little slice of meatloaf, about the thickness of a piece of toast, and a MOUNTAIN of corn. It was good, but I was still hungry when I was done. I wasn't pleased since it cost around $15! I ended up eating some of Tessa's mac & cheese. Plus, I didn't get a sticker that said I cleaned my plate because there was no way I was eating all of that corn. :snooty:

After dinner, we went out to look at the water while we digested. Look, a two-fer!!

IMG_1744_640x426.jpg

We planned to do a few key attractions in the park before heading back to the house. But, those plans soon changed.

The kids were having a nice time, just playing around and looking at the water.

IMG_1747_640x426.jpg

DSC09013_360x480.jpg

We packed the kids back up and were going to take off.

IMG_1750_640x426.jpg

IMG_1752_320x480.jpg

When I realized I didn't have Tessa!!! She had run ahead and was trying to catch up with Uncle Brian. She KNOWS better than to run off without us and not tell us where she is going. So, I called her back, rather sternly.

IMG_1756_640x426.jpg

She came back and I talked to her about staying with me and not running ahead. She started whining about it and acting rediculous. This picture makes her look pitiful. But, she was just being pretty naughty.

IMG_1758_640x426.jpg

I told her to just calm down and we'd go ride some rides. But, she was in full meltdown mode and wouldn't stop crying. So, I gave her a warning that if she couldn't stop that we would just leave and go back to the house. I'm a woman of my word, so when she didn't stop, we headed on out.

She cried the whole way out to the trams, and pouted on the trams.

DSC09020_360x480.jpg

DSC09022_360x480.jpg

Come on, you know you think this picture is funny, too.

DSC09023_640x480.jpg

I told her that if she didn't knock it off I would videotape her and show my friends. Well, I'm a woman of my word, so here yah go! Just so you know, she is wearing shorts under her dress.

Yes, she was trying not to laugh at the end there. She kept up with the whining and pouting. Then, she fell asleep on the way home.

It really was a nice day, just a bad ending! I really wanted to ride Tower of Terror again, but I was pretty tired anyway.

Up Next: We need these in Michigan!!

Tivo Tessie? :rotfl2: The famous baby Simba dress was one of the first things you made? :worship: Love the Lion King reenactment! Hmmm...now that I think of it, it doesn't seem quite right to see Timone without Pumbaa! Sawyer has a pretty tight grip on Henry's shirt! Nice job on the do-it-yourself baby Simba picture! I'm impressed! I can't believe the photopass guy cut Sawyer out of the picture! But that was some pretty blue sky above your heads...:sad2: Sawyer dances like a boy  Tessa is beautiful singing "can you feel the love tonight"! Luke is going to love that part when I show him. I can tell Henry really enjoyed the special attention from Terk :rotfl: I think they have some of my grandma's stuff at the prime-time cafe too. That Tessa sure is pretty when she is pouty and crying! I'll have to get Luke's comments tomorrow.

I'd love to hear what Luke has to say about this one! His girl is not portrayed in the most flattering light! :rotfl: Does he go to school in the morning or afternoon? Tessa goes in the afternoon.

Now I really need to go to bed. Thanks for staying up to read!

LOVE the trashcan video...especially the end.
Trash Can: "What are you, the paparazzi?"
Heather: "Whaat?"

for some reason, at a very sleep-deprived 3:30 a.m. (i HATE you, insomnia), i found that hilarious.

Love the update. I need to start making some outfits for my DD for next year when we go to Disney, you and Teresa are very inspiring to a new sewer. I can't believe that the photopass guy cut Sawyer out of the picture, it would have upset me too. I knew the minute I saw Teresa's outfit that she was Snow White, very cute.

What...no toture of your son by taking him in the bad bug show? I am so glad we missed the giant bug...Patrick would have had a melt down for sure!!!!

Thanks for the "Two-fer"!!! Always nice to see!!:lmao:

Can I just say...I love how happy your mom looks in all of the photos...now I know how much she was truly enjoying her time!;) That makes it more special!

I love all the old photos and the new ones together! How neat!!!

LOVE the trashcan video...especially the end.

I'm glad my confusion has brought you entertainment. :rotfl: I thought it sounded pretty funny, too!!
I hope you got some sleep

Thank you, Laura! I love it that you want to make things for your trip! If it weren't for the disboutique thread and my sister, I probably would never had tried sewing.

I just hate that picture where Sawyer is cut out. :sad2:

No bug show, I'm not THAT mean. :rotfl2: ;)

Glad you enjoyed the photo. Just thought you all might want to start a coed "fanny club". :lmao:

My mom is such a sweetie! She really had a great time!! She's the one we inherited our love of Disney from.

Tessa's even cute when she's pouting.
It looks like you were sitting where our cousins were at PTC.

Great trip report!

Love Teresa's Snow White outfit What a cool idea!

Tessa's melt down was adorable! sorry little kids can be so cute during a melt down especially when they aren't yours:lmao:
