They just predict the worse for these things too far out -- it is taken a much needed turn to the north in all these predictions (unfortunately straight for my neck of the woods now).

Yeah, but can still shift off this - Irma had a projected path like this at one point

Better safe than sorry but obviously talking up the potential brings more eyeballs to the screen

Almost out of the "cone", but want to stress that the percentages are truly guesses at this point. Safe travels to those coming and leaving our great state (and more specifically central FL). My thoughts and prayers are with other U.S states/ and the Bahamas as our "friends" potentially in this path's range.

Speaking (or more appropriately typing) as a local, the gas stations in my area "seem" to be alleviating the lines. We are not out of the woods, but the signs are encouraging for Orlando.

The gas situation will be much better now that the most of Florida isn't having to consider evacuating, but some shortages will still probably occur, just because of how Florida gets gasoline.

There is no pipeline into Florida. Gas is brought in by tankers and delivered to one of 3 ports: Port Everglades (near Ft. Lauderdale), Jacksonville, or Tampa. Of those 3, only Tampa will continue getting deliveries while the storm is active. The other two got their final deliveries on Friday, and won't get more until Dorian has completely cleared off from Florida waters.

Many have been worried about the theme park area in Florida but it’s looking like castaway cay and surrounding island properties could get hit bad from this storm.

Yeah, not as much talk about this but some of these Bahamian islands might get totalled as it is likely at Cat 5 levels when it hits there - definitely positive vibes to all those people

Great Abaco Island is now being hit with 185 mph winds. Castaway Cay is not very far from this location.

My only concern is that this decides not to turn and comes straight at Florida. I know chances at that happening are slim but it's possible.

I think it's still a very real possibility. The forecasters are definitely not ruling a late turn out and are calling for all residents of Florida not to let their guard down. There's a lot of if/when in their discussions about the turn.
