Dorian expected to strengthen to Cat 3 Hurricane

Nothing on twitter, either. Can you link to where you are getting the info, please?
The Dis, which oftener doesn’t post things unless it’s official, a certain source that can’t be linked here, and Blog Mickey.

Hard to believe it still isn't past Jacksonville.
So glad it stayed away from the coast!

Coming right for my little town again though ..but should be a lot less impactful than Florence.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it now. A new disturbance near Africa *MIGHT* be a threat to Florida. two_atl_5d0 (1).png
The disturbance on the bottom right. Last night the euro models had it coming towards Aruba, and the GFS model had it following Dorian's path, going through the bahamas and sweeping the side of florida. But as of this morning both models have it dying in the Atlantic

I'm from Toronto and traveling to Disney on September 22nd. Many are telling me that Dorian might still be affecting Disney then. I realize that nobody can actually really predict, but wondering what the thought on this is. I thought because its still a few weeks away I'd be ok, but apparently not :(

If there’s bad weather then, it won’t be from Dorian. Just monitor Orlando weather sites as your trip approaches. I hope it all works out for you.

No, Dorian will be long gone and Florida is used to cleaning up after storms. Even my neighbors (on the gulf coast, so not impacted by Dorian) are already packing up things to haul over to the the other coast to put on a ship to help the Bahamas. They are bringing airboats to rescue/search for people who may be clinging to roofs or deceased in the water.

All that to say that we're already sending help to the Bahamas, and any issues in Florida aside from some flooding damage, etc, will be taken care of relatively quickly. A major hurricane hit on the coast takes much longer- there are still tarps on roofs from Hurricane Michael nearly a year ago- but these type of glancing blows mean little long term impact, away from the coast.

The winds in Orlando weren’t that strong. Disney opened at normal times this morning, just no emh, which means there was no significant damage. After Irma they were closed for a day to clean up.

And now our lovely friend Dorian is on the way to visit us in the Maritimes! Oh goody.
