Anyone familiar with the area? We are going next week for a short stay (4 nights). The state parks were recommended to me but all electric sites are booked.

Can anyone suggest one of the private campgrounds? It's always so hard to tell over the internet. There are several with 4 stars in Woodall and I don't know which one to pick!

I am sorry, I can't help you with a campground, but you will truly enjoy Door County. We were there several years ago, and had a wonderful time. We took our boat and stayed in Sister Bay. There are lots of wonderful shops and restaurants to explore. You have to go to a fish boil (its the thing to do, ha) Have a great time.

I heard about the fish boils....any place in particular you recommend?

Did you take the Cherry Train on Washington Island?

We have stayed at a KOA in Fish Creek I think it was. It is very near Penninsula state park. It is clean, the sites were close together and not very big. It has been several years since we were there. If you can get into the state park that would be my first choice. We have done that with just the battery for lights and such. The bike trails are wonderful in the park. Have a great time!

We asked the people who owned the hotel, they gave a fish boil recommendation. I think you could ask at the campgrounds and find a good one. The food is not gourmet, but it is an experience.
