This will be long. I'm sorry. Just came back from WDW where DH convinced me to splurge on the black D&B purse. The first day I used it, I noticed a "fleck" on the solid black leather near the top of the purse. What did I do? I brushed it off. Only it wasn't a fleck; it was a piece of loose leather. So now I have a tiny little white spot where leather used to be. Honestly, it is very tiny, but I know it's there and it's bugging me. I don't know if I should just get over it or if I should call for a replacement, if that's even possible. Looking for suggestions. I should say, my family isn't rich. Sure, I bought a $200 purse, but it took days of soul searching before I decided to buy it. I hope it lasts forever. That said, now I'm just plain terrified to use it. Stupid, I know. Again, I love the purse and want it to last for a good many years. Speaking of which ... is everyone keeping track of all my questions? ... do these purses come with any kind of warranty? Can you tell I've never bought something like this before?

I think I would definately call to let them know and hopefully they will send you another one. I guess you will have to return the one you have. If I spent that much for a bag and some of it came off when I first got it I would definately get an exchange.

That helps a ton! Thanks so much. Wow that really is big. I'm kind of bummed it's that big - I love the size of the black tote but really want the sketch pattern. Ugh. I will have to decide soon what to do. Is the large white one kind of flexible - like if I were to jam it into my suitcase to board my plane ? I fly every week and I have a suitcase and a computer bag but won't give up carrying a purse (although many of my female colleagues have suggested it but that is just crazy talk!). So I shove and I mean shove my coach tote into my computer backpack just to board and then take it out. If I go with one of these I think it will have to be shoved instead into the suitcase but will it be very flexible? I may have to go with medium tote for size and I am sure that is not flexible.

So South Jersey girls - were are you? I am in Sicklerville!

missesdisney, I wouldn't be comfortable shoving the large bag into a suit case myself. The handles are rather stiff and I'd be worried about damaging them. The bag itself is somewhat pliable, but it's not soft by any means.

I have a confession to make. I have an original Cindy tote. I put everything (except food) in it. I work admin for a military unit, and yesterday someone came up asking if I had any white-out. I have a white-out pen that I keep in my purse. So I brought it out. Only, I had to bring out one of my textbooks to get to it (I'm also a full-time college student). She laughed. We started talking and decided that these bags are big enough to fit my Mom stuff, school stuff, and work stuff, and still have room! She's so right!

Dh is very nervous about the design that's supposed to come out. I've been resisting the black bags and am very excited about the prospect of a new design. I've never been into bags before now. At least I have a specific taste!

Got my Dooney about 2 hours ago! I got the large black one. I REALLY wanted the white tassel but I didn't like the straps on that one. We were at Summer Lace and they had a GREAT white tassel with the WDW logo centered right under the buckle with Mickey and Minnie on the front! But I don't like the straps and knew it would aggravate me. My perfect bag would be the white one in the size of the large black.

I'm happy with the black and will see what other patterns are out in May when we come back. It was REALLY hard not to buy both when I take into consideration the 20% off AP discount!

I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't end up with the large white but it is really too big for me I think. I LOVE that pattern though. The lady at Summer Lace told me she thought the new patterns would be out by now and she heard pink and blue bags. So maybe I'll like the new patterns as much as the white. She did say also that she was told that they would not be carrying the white anymore but they obviously still are. I'm thinking maybe that was for the first white one.

I'm very pleased to have my large black Disney Dooney (esp with the 20% discount!

It is $175 at the parks and the shipping is 29.95. I haven't checked recently but I know here while back they were going for reasonable prices n Ebay. I have never heard of the Magical Memories Store...so can't help with that.

Edited: Just did a quick glance on Ebay and someone has one listed w/ Buy it Now for $175 + $10 shipping!

I just received my medium tote - it is so cute! The size is perfect for anything...and I have 2 kids and even w/o them it's an awesome tote. I bought mine from ebay for 175 free S/H and I love it. I was nervous about going to WDW and them not having it in stock (they sell out constantly of course) and didn't want to pay $30 for S/H thru WDW merchandise hotline. Let me know if you need help finding one.
I am a fan of the white more than the black, but man, the fans of the new design are fierce! Good luck!!

With all finer bags (coach, D&B) I would think there is an extensive warranty against defects, which yours is clearly a defect. I would call their 1-800 number that you can google and then talk to customer service. I'm pretty sure they will send you a new one and somehow you'll have to send yours to them. Good luck, give us updates on your dilemma!

I bought 1 each of the wristlets, hoping that would "take care of it". That lasted about a day. I ended up with the black barrel, white tassle, and white medium tote. I almost got the black tassle with the lovely rainbow zipper, but decided to hold back in case I really liked the new pattern. (Whenever that's coming out.) I'll be going back in August, but I won't have that 20% discount to play with.

If it's just a tiny spot can you just fill it in with a black permanent marker? Like a sharpie?

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I JUST got my medium sketch tote and NOW I'm thinking a wristlet would be so nice as a wallet INSIDE my bigger bag...I'm an addict too!!!
