Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 4

I hate to say it but the incentive to buy Disney Dooneys is fading. No more 25% off, 20% discounts being reduced to 10%, and the black leather trim bleeding onto the white bags. All these things are a turn off, especially given the fact that the Disney Dooneys are already priced higher (just because they are Disney themed) when compared to the exact same styles/fabrications in the regular, non Disney, Dooney line.

I absolutely agree. I don't buy them in the parks because I don't want to pay full price. I'm not a placement issue person. So my days are rapidly coming to an end.

are you by chance in the disney dooney facebook group? Someone just posted some pics yesterday of stock in WOD and TREN-D. The brown sketch totes were in the pictures posted

I could use some advice from the Dooney experts out there. Has anyone carried their Dooney satchel in the parks? I was looking for a bag to carry that could hold my wallet and basic stuff, but also my full-sized DSLR camera with a pretty big lens. I hate carrying a camera bag AND another bag, but I have never been able to find a camera specific bag that is any good at carrying other stuff too. Then it occurred to me that my Dooney was perfect size-wise, but I don't want it to get damaged at the parks. Amy input as to how it holds up? Also the bag is pretty heavy, even empty. Is it too heavy for the fairly narrow strap to handle in a theme park?

Any assistance is appreciated!

The satchel is a great size and probably my favorite style of Disney Dooney. However, I wouldn't carry my DSLR in one at the parks because of exactly what you said - the 2 together plus wallet, etc. would be just too heavy for carrying around all day, all those miles of walking we all do at WDW! My camera is pretty old though, I know newer DSLR's don't weigh as much. But with my set-up, definitely would not be comfortable. LOVE my satchels though.

Anyone have the large shopper tote??? I was thinking about getting it and using it as my diaper bag, but I can't seem to find any picture of the inside to see if there are any pockets. So I'm just wondering if anyone had it and thought it could or couldn't work as a diaper bag.

yes, i have it and i really like it. i actually like it better than any of the other totes. inside is one zip compartment, with a wide slip pocket below it, one dog leash web style strap with a clip, one pocket with a snap tab and one smaller slip pocket. regarding use as a diaper bag, the drawbacks would be not waterproof inside, and no place inside or outside to put a sippy cup or bottle. also, the shape of the tote widens at the top, so a bit less floor space if you know what i mean. that would impact the storage capacity and the ability to stand up bottles. having said this, i really do like the bag, but i don't use it as a diaper bag. hope this helps ps, also, wanted to add that the zipper on mine is great, it works smoothly and that's a real plus. the straps are a really comfortable drop too and they swing down because they are on rings. it's really my favorite of all of the disney dooney totes.

Awesome!! Thanks so much, knowing that it at least has a couple pockets inside is good. I'm hoping the disney store in the airport has one I can look at before I just jump in and order it, since it is a pretty penny. Maybe I can find an organizer thing to go in it for more pockets.

So WDYT??? Because the Vera bags were in the pics for Summer releases, do y'all think they are releasing them this summer rather than in the Fall like originally posted???

I'm not loving the comic strip design. I was going to wait until my October visit to buy my first Disney dooney but I'm going to order it online today. I want the sketch and I'm afraid it will be considered an old design and not be available in the parks in 5 months from now.
