Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

I had my first Disney Dooney sighting yesterday. There was a lady at Denny's with a medium Sketch tote. I told her I liked her bag and she said she liked mine (I had my 55th Disneyland messenger). She said she saved up for a long time to buy hers and I told her both of mine had been gifts.

Also, went to my local Dooney Outlet this weekend. I was using my 40th Anniv. Kristen tote and I was practically attacked by the sales girls as they hadn't seen that pattern yet. They told me that all the outlet stores were going to be getting the Disney Black Wonder bags soon.

Yes, those are the ones in thread 1898. I think they are cute and wondered how big the tote was. I love Minnie's bow all over. I also love the black which doesn't show the dirt. The white is cute but I have the Sketch Mickey tote and I am worried all the time about it getting dirty because it is white.

Well I finally found it! I'm going to spend my gift certificate that I got from the balloon Mickey price adjustment on that Minnie purse. It is just too cute. Off to check out the styles online.

Aaarrggghhh!! They aren't online yet. I really want one of those Minnie purses. Any ideas on what styles it will be offered in? So far I have a Cindy tote in the original sketch pattern and a Margot cross body in the black Mickey balloon print, so a different style would be nice. Just need to decide what color I'll want.

Hi, They can be ordered from the Disneyworld merchandise order line by calling 1-877-560-6477. they come in the wristlet, pouchette and a summer tote. All three styles are in the white and black. Zannaland.com shows all three styles. they won't be on disneystore.com for a while yet. there are none on ebay yet. So it is either the parks or their order line. I ordered one yesterday that way. They don't however give you the discount with your Disney visa But, I hate waiting

I have a question for those that spoke of using the Disney Visa discount along with the rewards points. How does that work? If you use the Disney Visa don't they just automatically charge the full amount of purchase to your credit card?

Daizieduck, I owe ya big time for the "heads up" on the white Margo coming back to the online store (ordered it & LOVE it!), so I hope I can return the good deed.
Here's what they did for me at WOD last November. When the salesgirl saw I had a Disney Rewards Points card (AND she was also the one who went thru all of the bags with me to find my "perfect placement"), she asked if I also had my Disney Visa with me. I told her I was using the rewards card, & she told me she could take 10% off my purchase for "using" my Visa. She rang thru the sale but didn't "complete" it - she just got the subtotal (minus the 10%). Then, she used all the points I had left on the card, which left a balance of $7 due (for BOTH a medium Sketch & wristlet). I had to put the $7 on my charge card in order to use the Visa discount - if I had $7 more on the card, I would have walked out of there for free!
Plus, if you haven't had time to get your rewards card before your trip, you can pick them up at the courtesy booth at Downtown Disney - you have to make a call to activate it but the card works instantaneously.

[/COLOR]Not only is this a scary obsession but an expensive one too My husband and kids are the same way when I am looking at the placement on the bags.. They are dying to leave the store!!

Catira, let me tell ya how I "handle" the "hubby situation". We first take a walk to the cigar store in Downtown Disney, or he'll grab a drink. Then, I head into the WOD store while he's "people watching" & enjoying his "refreshments" outside. I'm usually in there for about 30 - 45 minutes so it gives him time to relax while I shop. Then, we'll do a slow stroll around Downtown Disney (with me poking into a couple of stores of couse) & then head to Ghiradelli for a drink to enjoy on the ride back to the in-laws. This plan usually keeps BOTH of us happy.
Since you have the kids, you may want to head to Ghiradelli first - I'm sure if they're having ice cream outside, they won't even miss you while you're shopping at WOD.

This is a scary new obsession--I about drove DH nuts when we were there looking at these bags--he finally just picked one up and said, "That's it, just buy this one!" He really couldn't understand why I kept babbling about placement lol I told him I had to see all the bags there first...

I think we call ALL relate to that - I GOTTA have my "perfect placement"!

Thanks for the comments on my messenger I used my AP discount so I did save the 10% I also got 4 new Disney Chamilia beads with the AP 10% off and they were also completely free using my Disney Reward Points It doesn't get better than that Congrats on getting your two Dooney bags for $7

Congrats on your purchases too mlittig - looks like we both made out pretty good! Haven't started on the Disney Chamilia beads yet, but I do like the one that says something like "where dreams come true / dreams do come true"? I'd like to get that one (maybe next trip) & put it on a necklace - I'm not too good with bracelets - I always break them.

Thanks for the info! It's so hard to know what size the bags are without seeing them, you know? I told dh that I wanted the sketch cross body, and he got me that for Christmas (along with the cosmetic bag, and I don't wear cosmetics, and it won't fit in the bag I have anyway, so I have no idea what to do with it), and it's bit too small. But I love it so much that I am making it work, anyway.

How does the messenger bag compare in size to the crossbody?

Maybe a tote will work. For those of you with kids, can you carry a kid on your hip and still carry the bag on your shoulder, and still hold another kid by the hand? Does the bag slip off your shoulder?

I use my cosmetic bag as a wallet for my medium Sketch since they don't make a matching wallet ....... which I would LOVE if they did!
