I am trying to find reviews of the large weekender bag but the threads are so long I can't see any. Anyone have the weekender bag that can tell me what you think about owing it. Size, etc...

Thank you!

I think that there might be one on this thread somewhere… I will try and find it… But I was looking for that too, I am in love with the weekender!!! (just not in love with the price lol)

There are some recent posts #1818 and #1821 both have the weekender bag. Hope that helps. :)

The DCL sketch has a tassle tote, a medium tote and a large tote plus there are white, yellow, red and navy wristlets (see the link below from a blog post about a year ago). The styles are identical to the WDW/DL sketch bags - just different art.

Like I wrote before, I can't WAIT to get my hands on a large tote!!

What pattern is the Sketch? I know it did seem like a very limited amount of patterns on the Dream.

I'm pretty positive that they DID have that on the Dream. At least I remember the tassel style. It was the shiney vynal material though, which I don't like

I was so busy posting photos of the Dooney bags in the parks, I just realized I haven't posted a photo of my new 40th messenger bag :dance3: I went down with all expectations of getting a bucket bag but when I went to get my white Mini Margot ready the night before we left, I found it didn't hold all the stuff I take to the parks with me :rolleyes1 So I needed something for the parks and ended up discovering that the messenger style is perfect for my park needs  But now I have a brand new never used white Margo I have to sell :lmao: If interested, pm me :thumbsup2

I love how I have the castle and Walt both so centered on the front and also have all three characters :woohoo: It took a while to find the perfect bag for me but so worth the time investment :yay: And to top it off, I used my Disney Visa reward points so it didn't cost me a cent :cloud9: And it was the only one that still had the old price of $255 on it :rotfl2:

PERFECT placement on the Messenger bag - I used my Disney Visa rewards points for my medium Sketch & matching wristlet, which ended up costing me $7 total after the discount. :cheer2:
Hope you "charged" it to your Visa first to get the 10% off (they'll put thru the charge, then take the points off the rewards card so you can get the extra 10% off). Nice to only have a $7 Visa bill for 2 bags - hoping to do that again in November for a 40th bucket & wallet (& maybe a wristlet if I find the "perfect" one) - I just hope they have them there by then.
I'll be using my Margot for my summer bag - it's a great small bag for those days you want to do some mall shopping (just big enough for credit cards, lipstick, & some cash). And it looks great on too - not too bulky if you want to dress up & wear it.

Thanks for the comments on my messenger :thanks: I used my AP discount so I did save the 10% :woohoo: I also got 4 new Disney Chamilia beads with the AP 10% off and they were also completely free using my Disney Reward Points :dance3: It doesn't get better than that  :cloud9: Congrats on getting your two Dooney bags for $7 :cool1:

Silly question but can anyone tell me what the green and brown thing that looks like rocks on the 40th anniversary is supposed to represent? My leather Dooney logo covers up half of it and I have no idea what it's supposed to be--I don't like it but maybe I would if I knew what it was! I love having the train, the old tickets, map of the park(I pored over the Disneyland map my dad brought back when I was a kid) and the different park logos and the front of mine. Wish the Mickey ears and Walt were on the front instead of the back but can't have everything.

This is a scary new obsession--I about drove DH nuts when we were there looking at these bags--he finally just picked one up and said, "That's it, just buy this one!" He really couldn't understand why I kept babbling about placement lol I told him I had to see all the bags there first...

Does anyone have a picture of the DB bags that can only be purchased on DCL? I'm familiar with the styles that can be purchased at the parks but I was hoping I could pick up another one when we are on our cruise in a couple of months. Thanks

I think you are asking about the big square that does look like rocks that is above the picture of Walt as shown on the front of my messenger??

That is the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride that used to be in Fantasy Land :)

Not only is this a scary obsession but an expensive one too :rotfl: My husband and kids are the same way when I am looking at the placement on the bags.. They are dying to leave the store!!

For this trip I am hoping that I can occupy DHs time with his bat making trip while I look for the perfect bag.....

only 12 more days...:woohoo:

I have a quick question for moms out there (if this has been asked, sorry!). I have the Sketch cross body bag, and it's great for quick trips, but I need something that will hold a bit more for a day out with the kids. I don't need a diaper bag, but something that will maybe hold a bottle or two of water, some snacks, and a few toys along with my wallet and iphone. I prefer bags that I can cross over my body with, so I can keep my hands free for wrangling little people, but it's not a deal breaker. I really like the look of the 40th anniversary messenger bag, but I'm worried it is too small. Do they have a larger size? Or something similar? I wonder if the weekender might be something more like that I'm looking for, but I wish it had a longer strap.

I'm not really a bag person, so sorry if the questions are dumb, but thanks for listening!

No question about a Disney Dooney is dumb! :goodvibes

I can't answer your question about the 40th messenger bag, but I don't think that the weekender is the type of bag you are looking for - it is HUGE!

Hope you get the answers you need a find a bag that you love! :cheer2:

The messenger bag is too small for what you want to carry. The weekender would be too big I would think. Unfortunately there aren't many Disney Dooneys with a long strap (shoulder or cross body) that are big enough. The balloon pattern has a nice-sized satchel with a shoulder strap. All the totes would probably work...none of them have zippers, if that matters, good or bad...but the straps are long enough to carry the bag on your shoulder (double straps).

Thanks for the info! It's so hard to know what size the bags are without seeing them, you know? I told dh that I wanted the sketch cross body, and he got me that for Christmas (along with the cosmetic bag, and I don't wear cosmetics, and it won't fit in the bag I have anyway, so I have no idea what to do with it), and it's bit too small. But I love it so much that I am making it work, anyway.

How does the messenger bag compare in size to the crossbody?

Maybe a tote will work. For those of you with kids, can you carry a kid on your hip and still carry the bag on your shoulder, and still hold another kid by the hand? Does the bag slip off your shoulder?

I don't have any kids, but I can tell you that I have some trouble with the Sketch medium tote (two handles) . . . one handle always slips off my shoulder, even if I try to tuck the front one behind the other (if that makes any sense!) - I love the way the bag looks, but if I had known how hard it is to manage (imho), I probably would not have bought it . . . :scared1:

I have a question for those that spoke of using the Disney Visa discount along with the rewards points. How does that work? If you use the Disney Visa don't they just automatically charge the full amount of purchase to your credit card?

That is why I am thinking of the Lucy bag. I really do not like bags with two handles (one is always slipping). I have the 40th Anniversary Messanger bag and I love it but i am looking for a white bag for the summer. Now I am just hoping for a discount code.

Did I see someone mention finding these at the Dooney outlet stores? Wonder if it would be any stores or just Orlando ones?
