I only have the 1st edition sketch design, however, if I lose 30 pounds before my June trip, I am sooooo treating myself to the 40 year design :lovestruc

Here is some pixiedust: for your weight lose :goodvibes What 40th bag are you thinking of getting?

Am I the only one worried about the size and comfort/short handles on the Kristin?!? I don't want to be....someone please convince me!;)

As promised here is some pics of my new Dooney.

Claire, you have such adorable placement on your cruise bags :woohoo: I love your Dooney "family" :lovestruc

I am a shoulder bag only gal and could not use the Kristen because of the short handles  I love how you get so much more bag and placement for the money but it just would not work for me :rolleyes1

Mary I totally agree with you. I can not carry a bag on the crook of my arm. I like the fact that the bucket style has long handles:)

I stopped by Uptown Jewelers this afternoon to check out the Dooney event. I didn't take any pictures because there really wasn't much going on or anything new to see. They just had the princess bags on sale. No free gifts with purchases or anything. Ian was super nice and really charming. He seemed a little bored, but chatted with people who were just browsing.

Thanks for the update. Seems this is the first time a disney dooney event is held and no gift with purchase is given:confused3

The handle drop was the biggest thing that sold me on the Bucket Bag. I'm an over the shoulder gal all the way. While I'm sure I could fill more space if it were larger, it actually holds quite a bit, so it works for me. My biggest complaint is the buckle closure, I'm just not a fan. But one nice thing about the size and shape of the Bucket Bag is I don't feel like I need to do up the buckle if I don't want to. I just flip my bag backwards so you don't see the cutout for the closure, and I leave the top undone. In fact when I shop pattern placement I usually try to find bags with completely different front / back / inside panels so I get as many different icons as possible, but with the Bucket Bag I actually found one that had identical front and back panels specifically for that reason.

Guilty as charged. :guilty:

Thanks for all the feedback, Sheila :goodvibes I have the similar buckle closure on my Wonder Tote and most of the time, I just don't even close it or I just put through the loop :rolleyes1 I am so looking forward to seeing the 40th bags in person :woohoo: April cannot come fast enough for me :dance3:

Liza, I was hoping for gift today too :sad1: Maybe this means they will still do something special for the real anniversary on October 1st pixiedust: Not fair if they don't since they made such a big deal of the event last summer for Disneyland's 55th

I am in LOVE with this bag....... I wonder how long they will be available on the ships.

This is bad....very bad....lol!!

Thanks, they are only available on the Dream for this Inaugural year. :thumbsup2

I hope at least until the March 13 sailing! I'll be on the Dream then and plan on getting one.

I am sure they will be available then. :thumbsup2

Thank you. :)

I've got another Dream Satchel with fab placement that I bought for my sister but she isn't sure she will keep it (financial reasons) so I may well be listing that on ebay now along with my cross body, jeez.

So I finally got my collection together for a picture. Not the greatest picture but it works :thumbsup2 I would have never thought it would turn into such an obsession. I remember it just like it was yesterday...January 2010 walking into Uptown Jewelers and absolutely losing it over the 1st edition sketch. My poor DH should have never let me get it :lmao:

EDIT: I just realized that I left out my black and white striped tote. Shame on me!

Wow, what a wonderful big Dooney "family" you have :yay: Thanks for sharing :thanks:

I totally agree that every bag should be great:lovestruc The beauty about placement is that different things speak to different people :yay: It's the marketing behind all the different Disney resorts ~ different people love different resorts for their own reasons :cloud9: I am definitely a placement person and it can all pay off because on my blue sketch wristlet, I got 3 Tinks and 3 castles  Of course, even after I found my perfect placement, I could not stop myself from checking all the blue wristlets in every store I went into :rolleyes1

I wasn't talking about characters per se, but the way they cut the fabric on some. Especially on the smaller bags, wristlets and the tassel tote comes to mind. I know I've seen some where it's difficult to get any characters unobstructed, whether it be by the handles, snap closure, or the Dooney name plate.

I had to laugh when I read your post. My Disney Dooney and Bourke obsession started in January 2010 too. I went gaga over the wonder pattern and spent the whole week obsessing over which one I should buy. I finally settled on the barrel bag since I wanted a zipper. I didn't even like the sketch purses because all they had was the small purse. My dd really liked that one, but I knew her dad would kill me if I bought it for her.

A couple months later I saw the medium sketch tote and was hooked. I told my dh to get me one for my bday. He gave me the go ahead and I trolled ebay for nearly three months, but finally got the sketch bag that I loved and for a reasonable price.

I have since added 11 more bags to my collection and bought dd the small sketch purse that she loved for Christmas. She is angling for more and loves to borrow my Peace Love Mickey bag.

I've always had the purse "problem", but this obsession is starting to get really bad.:thumbsup2

I love the whole collection! last time when I went down it was only the lite colors...not really good with those...they tend to get really dirty for me...but I love them!

I'm the same way! I definitely had a purse "problem" prior to Disney D&B's. I had a serious Coach collection going. Luckily for my DH all I want to carry now is the Disney D&B's and they are definitely not as expensive so he's all for it. :rotfl: My mother was with me when I got my first sketch tote and as soon as she saw it she marched right into Uptown Jewelers and got one for herself. It's definitely contagious! :lmao:

Has anyone else noticed that the Mini Margot and Patty Pouchette have each gone up $20  They both are now $165.00 on Disney shopping and I don't think they are available in the parks yet either

Quick help pretty please! Can anyone tell me how much the Dream and red DCL wristlets are on the ship? I have a friend leaving on the Dream tomorrow who offered to pick those up for me and I need to know how much to send him in Paypal. Do they have to pay any sales tax or customs fees/duty on the purses?

Thanks so much!
