:offtopic: My husband is home!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay: I have not seen him yet, but he's in the U.S. and only one hour away:)

I'm scared he will notice new bags:scared1: but he said he doesn't care and he is happy just to be home.......but I'm still nervous.

I'm the same way! I definitely had a purse "problem" prior to Disney D&B's. I had a serious Coach collection going. Luckily for my DH all I want to carry now is the Disney D&B's and they are definitely not as expensive so he's all for it. :rotfl: My mother was with me when I got my first sketch tote and as soon as she saw it she marched right into Uptown Jewelers and got one for herself. It's definitely contagious! :lmao:

That's a hoot! My mom was rather disgusted with me when I bought my first Coach purse 11 years ago. She had another fit when I got my first Disney D & B and really flaked out when I spent $150 on the one for dd15. She just does not "get it"! If she knew what I had in purses, she would literally stroke out.:confused3

Has anyone else noticed that the Mini Margot and Patty Pouchette have each gone up $20  They both are now $165.00 on Disney shopping and I don't think they are available in the parks yet either

Hmm, interesting. You're right, I haven't seen either of those bags at Disneyland. Of course we always seem to be a bit behind WDW in getting new D&B bags, so I watch for reports from the East Coast to try and figure out what to expect here.

Quick help pretty please! Can anyone tell me how much the Dream and red DCL wristlets are on the ship? I have a friend leaving on the Dream tomorrow who offered to pick those up for me and I need to know how much to send him in Paypal. Do they have to pay any sales tax or customs fees/duty on the purses?

Thanks so much!

The duty free allowance is quite generous. Your friend would have to be doing some serious spending to end up getting hit with any kind of fee.

Hi all...:wave2:

Does anyone know the prices of the new 40th Disney Dooney handbags and wallets from the park? I have seen some on e-bay :surfweb: but am not sure if their prices are higher than at the park. :confused3 Also, can you order these bags from Disney Merchandising by phone now? I won't be going to WDW this year :sad1: and would love to get a wallet. :)

Thanks for all your information and help on this board.

Post #4 on the first page of this thread has a list of prices. :thumbsup2
Wallets are $175

I assume you can order the WDW 40th collection through merchandising, but don't they charge crazy high shipping fees?

You might actually get a better deal on e-bay, and then you'd be able to make sure you like the pattern placement you're getting before buying. (although definitely verify that the seller isn't just using stock photos) That's kind of a big deal on the wallets, at least IMO.

I'm glad he's home & safe -THAT'S the most important thing! I'm sure you'll be too busy "catching up" , & I'm sure he's more interested in seeing you than anything else, so I doubt he'll notice a purse (or 2 .... ) anyway!
Tell him thank you for his service - it's great men like him that make our county the greatest on earth. You're both in my prayers. :goodvibes

I just started using my 40th anniversary small messenger bag and it has one of those strap things inside that you are supposed to attach you keys to and it keeps getting in the way. I have a large keychain with 5 or 6 keys and will never use this. Would it be terrible if I cut it off. I am definately keeping the bag so it's not like I would be selling a damaged bag. I just feel bad spending so much money on a bag and then cutting something off it. What are your thoughts?

Linda

I think that it is your bag, you spent good money on it, and it should work for you - if that means that you need to custom-tailor it to fit your needs, go for it! :cheer2:

Lovinmydisneylife -

I had to laugh when I read your post. My Disney Dooney and Bourke obsession started in January 2010 too. I went gaga over the wonder pattern and spent the whole week obsessing over which one I should buy. I finally settled on the barrel bag since I wanted a zipper. I didn't even like the sketch purses because all they had was the small purse. My dd really liked that one, but I knew her dad would kill me if I bought it for her.

A couple months later I saw the medium sketch tote and was hooked. I told my dh to get me one for my bday. He gave me the go ahead and I trolled ebay for nearly three months, but finally got the sketch bag that I loved and for a reasonable price.

I have since added 11 more bags to my collection and bought dd the small sketch purse that she loved for Christmas. She is angling for more and loves to borrow my Peace Love Mickey bag.

I've always had the purse "problem", but this obsession is starting to get really bad.:thumbsup2

I am just the exact opposite :rotfl2: I never had any interest in designer bags even with a daughter who loves Coach :rotfl: But since discovering the Disney Dooney bags, I am addicted :lmao: Like so many here, checking this tread is part of my daily routine, often more than once a day :woohoo:

Yup - same here! I would roll my eyes at anyone who would spend "all that money" on a bag - & I thought the "regular" Dooneys were a waste of money. Then I saw the Dooney sketch . HAD to have it - & now I'm hooked! I've got the medium sketch, balloon & sketch wristlet, & the balloon cosmetic bag. If the "tag fiasco" didn't happen - & they came with the heart tag attached - I would have ordered the balloon Margot too. Can't wait to pick up the 40th bucket, wallet & wristlet - this is getting bad! :rotfl:

wow, i sure am enjoying all of your postings of your beautiful disney dooney collections :wizard:

Rachel glad to hear your family will be soon reuniting with your husband  I'm sure you all must have been counting down the minutes. Your new purchases are the last thing he will be thinking about. Just being together with his loved ones again is all he cares about. :cutie:

Totally agree.. spending bigs bucks on a designer purse were usually not one of my priorities. Now, all I use on a daily basis is a disney dooney:) Not only do I check this thread here several times a day, I check ebay, and facebook for news of any new disney dooneys :surfweb:

I'm so jealous of everyone who had already snagged a 40th anniversary piece!!! I'm counting down the days, 62 days till I'm at the world!!!!

I hate those things!!! But in my personal case I wouldn't cut it out. What I do id put a small bottle of hand sanitizer on the end, not my keys.

Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have come to this thread today, but I need some retail therapy and something told me it was time for a new pattern to be coming out... holy cow, do I love those 40th anniversary bags!!

The bucket and messenger bags seem to be similar in price - are they similar in size as well? I'm trying to visualize their size and I just can't see it. I have a medium sketch, the wonder tote, the collette, and the wonder crossbody bag... so for comparison, are the bucket tote or messenger bags anywhere near the sizes of any of these bags?

Or better yet, can someone direct me to a page that might have pics that show an actual person modeling them? That would be the BEST!

Thanks!

Edited to add; I looked a little deeper into the thread and now I know I definitely want the bucket bag!

Hi Everybody,
I have been reading a lot but not posting. I love looking at everyone's collections. I am another one that couldn't have cared less about designer bags until I saw the Disney Dooneys. My first Disney Dooney was the Wonder Wristlet which I bought for a cruise last June. On the cruise, I got the Cruiseline Tassel Tote - the red white and blue design. Then along came cyber Monday and I ordered the black Balloon satchel. On a Christmas trip to Disney, I was able to shop Disney Dooneys other than the cruise ones, up close and personal for the first time and use the 20% off coupons that were being printed on the quick service reciepts. I came home with a white balloon Collette, a white balloon wristlet, a princess wristlet and a blue sketch crossbody - all bought using 20% off coupons. Did I mention this was a solo trip? :rolleyes1 The week after Christmas I ordered the black balloon crossbody and for Valentine's Day the Princess Tote.

Ok now here is the bad part. Hubby and I are sailing on The Dream in two weeks:banana: I got the Dream Crossbody on ebay last night for a reasonable price, with shipping a bit more than I would have paid on the Dream but the placement is exactly what I wanted and I wanted to be sure to stay within my customs spending allotment which I think is $800 a person. Wouldn't have been an issue except I am bring a Dream satchel back for a friend and of course I want one two. This is the first cruise for Hubby and Me and for our anniversary so I will need to buy picks at Shutters too. I have done all this "damage" and I live in TEXAS. Its a good thing I can't just drive over to WDW anytime to shop.

I am a kindergarten teacher and the students love my Disney Dooney's. It makes me happy just to see them. I look at them as utilitarian pieces of art.
